Our breezy studio apartment sits on oceanfront property, easily accommodates two and is located in a central area of the island to best serve your sightseeing desires. It's cleanly tucked away from the touristy areas and feels like vintage Hawaiian.
Waves crashing up on the rocks makes a wonderful salt air spray onto the LavaRock ledge and onto the lawn at high tide
(Local and state taxes of 13.96% are included in the daily rate)
This is a comfortable, airy tropical studio apartment with French Doors and patio that opens up to 90 feet of grassy lawn and out to the ocean where you can enjoy the cool shade of huge palm trees and sit up on, or hop over the Lava Rock Wall that overlooks the rocky beach. Waves crash up on the wall at high tide and ebb out at low tide. You can get a 180 degree view of the entire south end of the island from Diamond Head to Waikiki, Honolulu up to the Ko'Olina side. It's a modest oceanfront property that consists of my 2 cottages that share the yard bordering the ocean. Your French Doors have a 90 degree south facing view of beautiful turquoise blue Pacific Ocean. You can enjoy watching the waves from your couch or bed.. No public beach access here, it's private property. Walk right up to the Lava Wall anytime of the day or night and enjoy the sea spray and magnificent view from sunrise to sunset. It's a peaceful and vibrant feeling up that close to the water. You can smell the salt water and feel the ocean air on your skin. You won't want to leave....
There is 1 garage spot for parking with private door leading straight from garage into the apartment, and full size washer/dryer. This property sits at the end of a beach road so it feels very secluded and there is no public access to the oceanfront on this street. There is a full kitchenette with adequate cabinets full of dishes, a double sink, garbage disposal, 3/4 size refrigerator with freezer, microwave, electric cook-plate for skillet meals or pasta dishes, large size electric non-stick griddle, rice cooker/veggie steamer, and an outside charcoal BBQ. All possible utensils and pans you could want are in the kitchen already. No range top or oven, but is still absolutely everything you need to cook up most anything. No meals are provided by us as hosts. There is a 2 bedroom apartment upstairs that hosts a long term rental currently occupied by a military couple, but all amenities for the studio are self contained and private except the garage space which is shared with the upstairs residents. They have completely separate entrances to their unit.
Interaction with Guests
This is our second home so we live less than a mile away, so you have your privacy but we are close by for all your needs.
This is a small quiet residential neighborhood, it is not a tourist area. We know all our neighbors, and it is an old fashioned family area with respectful residents. You might say.... a multi-generational melting pot of young and old.
It is very centrally located to all the best amenities as you can see by looking at our location on the map.
There are local bus lines nearby and car rental locations as well.
Other Things to Note
We are new to renting our place out to AirBnB members so we are putting our prices at a very reasonable rate hoping to get the hang of short term rentals. This property has always been open to our family or to long term renters. We have owned this property for 10 years and have enjoyed sharing the wonderful oceanfront benefits with others as well.
No smoking inside, kitchen trash must be taken to the outside bins daily, no overnight guests without permission and no pets allowed under any circumstances. We don't allow loud partying as we respect our peaceful neighborhood, but we do expect you to have fun and create a memorable time while you are here.
Kent and Amy were great hosts and the place was extremely clean, comfortable and in a beautiful location. My sister and I had such a relaxing and easy vacation - the view from the backyard is breathtaking and we enjoyed spending evenings out there. The rental has everything you could need: towels, coolers, chairs. Kent and Amy were even so kind as to offer us a pack n play and stroller when we arrived for my nephew which was really helpful. I highly recommend staying here!
The small apartment was perfect for me -- I was there by myself, visiting relatives and it was close to them. Everything was as described on their listing. Amy had provided some coffee and english muffins for my arrival, which was very nice of her. The location was fine for me, but you would need a car to get around from this location -- I had planned to rent a car, so that was not a problem.
Amy was a very helpful hostess and her place was just what we needed for our 28 day stay in Oahu. She welcomed us with all the amenities that we needed to feel at home. I highly recommend her studio as there is a private garage for parking on a quiet street, a relaxing view of the ocean and it is located in a convenient area. We got up every morning, got our coffee and went into the backyard to watch the sun come up over Diamond Head.
Amy also provided beach chairs, ice chest, beach towels, everything down to the flip flops for our many trips to the different beachs in Oahu.
You will also say Mahalo (Thank you) to Amy and Kent.

Amy made it super easy for us to get into the studio and when we arrived we were delighted! It's a great little set up with an amazing view. Waking up for sunrise to the sound of the ocean is exactly how to spend your days in Oahu. Away from the crowds of waikiki this little cottage was the perfect spot for us to use as home base while exploring the island and had everything we needed - all the necessities like towels, beach chairs and coolers, toiletries that we forgot and coffee for the morning. Thanks!!!
Everything about our stay was great! The setup was nice and cozy and we made use of the beach equipment that was provided which was great! Great view of the water from the backyard which we really enjoyed! Amy and Kent were very accommodating and had everything setup for us wonderfully. Would love to stay again and would recommend to friends!
Melissa, We're so happy to hear that you had a good time here at our little studio. You both were truly a joy to have stay at our property. Thanks for the kind words and we hope you have many positive Airbnb experiences to come !
Mahalo for your residency !
Take care... Kent and Amy
Such an amazing place to stay for the value. The studio exceeded my expectations in every way. The pictures are fantastic, but it really looks much better when standing inside and it has a nice feeling of 'home' to it. It's about 50 steps to the sea wall and an incredible view of the vastness of the ocean (and Diamond Head). Going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the ocean/waves is amazing. I had a late arrival, but the check in process was a breeze. The Hawaiian music playing upon arrival was a very nice touch! I met Amy on the second day, but she was always available thru text. The attention to detail and the little things are what sets her apart from others. Leaving a place like this is very hard!
Mahalo Kevin ! You were one of my very first bookings before I had even had 1 guest stay in any of our places and when I was nervous about the whole idea of letting virtual strangers into our little corner of paradise. Now that the stay has come and gone and you turned out to be such a fabulous guest, it has boosted my confidence level so much. Your words of encouragement are very appreciated. I hope each and every guest will be as easy to communicate with and fun to host. Please come back and see us again when you are touring the islands next time. You are welcome anytime ! Amy
Sorry for the late review folks! As soon as we returned from vacation reality had to hit. But this little studio that is hosted by Amy and Kent is definitely like your second home. They are so warm and welcoming! They make you feel comfortable right away and the first impression of the studio when you walk in is priceless. It took our breath away and it was on point. Relaxing, warm, sweet, and most of all like home. They had all the windows and doors open with music playing as we walked in. We walked in the back towards the ocean, which is seriously just yards away and the view was amazing. Introduced ourselves to Kent and he gave us a mini tour of the studio. Later Amy arrived and gave us more information and went over the details with us. Amy gave us a few suggestions for our stay which were helpful. She and Kent were only a phone call away. The drive from the major sites weren't that bad. Renting a car is a must. The island is so beautiful that it's worth driving around to see and you won't even notice the time at all. Ewa Beach is a quiet area and I recommend staying here not only because of the great host but if you don't want to fuss with the main tourist locations then this is your best bet. I would love to come back and stay with Amy and Kent again. We hated to leave. It was like leaving home.

Hello, I’m a Retired US Navy sailor and a systems analyst for Phoenix Pacific on Oahu, we do fire alarms for all kinds of public places around the island. My wife Amy and I love to travel and see new roads and sites. Whether by car, motorcycle or plane; I’m always looking for something different, and hope to meet folks who enjoy the same mentality. We have an oceanfront property and are in the process of converting it over from long-term rentals to vacation rentals. We would love to have you come and enjoy the tropical paradise we call home....I hope to see you in your travels.
