My house is 12 years old. We designed and build it ourselves with a good bit of help from friend. It is situated in the countryside on a quiet road that leads to the seaside with lots of walking, cycling, surfing, swimming opportunities. Beautiful Fanore beach is only 34km away
The house itself is a three story house. Your room is on the first floor. You will share bathroom with me and kitchen with other guests. There are 4 people living in the house (Not family)
Outside is the garden with a barbecue, a little forest with lots of singing birds.
You will have access to your bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, eating area and garden. Parking is free and there is lots of space for keeping windsurfing gear o.a.
I will help you out as much as I can and if you wish. I can keep you informed on what goes on in the village and surrounding area.
I wont be cooking you the breakfast but will always have cereal, bread tea and coffee in the house, so you can have your breakfast when it suits YOU!
I live in the house myself, work during the week.
The house is 4 km from Kinvara village with 6 restaurants/cafes and 7 pubs where you can hear music nearly 7 nights a week. Kinvara is known for its high quality of traditional music.
It is on the gateway to the Burren a unique limestone area with lots and lots of flowers. The Ailwee Caves with it birds of prey is well worth a visit. Ballyvaughan is another seaside village close by. Restaurants like Linnane's in New Quay well know for its seafood is 12 km away
Nearest beach - Treacht is 5 km away, and only 34 km to the most beautiful Fanore beach on the Atlantic coast.
Cliffs of Moher 38 km
Galway city 33 km
Shannon Airport 66km.
So all in all a good central base for exploring Galway and County Clare and plenty for doing whether it rains or shines.
Nearby are also other monuments like Poulnabrone Megalithic tomb, William Butler Yeats Tower. Nearby in Coole Park W.B Yeats spent his summers with other poets at Lady Gregorys Coole Park Home (The Wild Swans at Coole and many other poems were written there and in the Tower). Many old circular stone fairy forts are on the nearby Burren mountains and Saints like St. Patrick and Mac Duagh were Celtic Hermit priests in the local area with some of the ruined buildings and Holy Wells still now being visited by both locals and tourists. There are also interesting ruins like Corcomroe Abbey near Ballyvaughan and the seven churches in Kilfenora with old Celtic crosses.
Bus no 350 from Galway bus station leaves for Kinvara - Doolin - Cliffs of Moher at Mon-Sat: (phone number hidden) (Mon-fri) and 18.00 not on Sundays).
It takes about 35min

The Cuckoo Festival first weekend in May is an Irish traditional festival with lots of top class music in the pubs and cafes.
Cruinniu na mBad, meaning "Gathering of the Boats", is a festival held in August each year, which brings us back in time, to when the majestic Galway Hookers used to transport turf/peat to Kinvara. In 2014 the festival will be held on August 8 to 10.
Smoking is allowed outside:)
