Interaction with Guests
As little or as much as you want!
Quiet secluded cabin right by the sea, with otters and deer (and even the occasional sea eagle!) for company!
Bring your car as there is not a regular bus service here
Other Things to Note
There is an additional charge for electricity. We read the meter at arrival and departure and work out usage as per current electricity prices
We will not be offering short stay holidays in summer 2015 so in July & August 2015 the minimum stay is 7 nights.
Also as the cabin is heated with a wood burning stove, on cold winter days you will need to get a good fire going to heat up the radiators. A big basket of fuel is included in the price.
Minimum stay REALLY is 3 nights, out of season!!
Over peak holiday periods such as Christmas, New Year, Easter and July & August, our minimum night stay is 7 nights.
Great house in a great location in a beautiful town. Very clean. Nice and homely. Lovely furniture and furnishings. We hope to be able to go back. Recommended.
My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 days in this amazing Woodland Cabin.
The cabin is huge, very modern and clean.
But it feels so cosy inside. Having a fire in the living room is extremely nice.
The view is stunning and you can walk in the woods near the cabin. It’s also really close to the Killarney National Park, which is beautiful.
Cara and her partner were very nice and helpful. Always ready to help with any query we could have.
I would highly recommend going there!
A perfect location for a weekend away! We were greeted by Cara on arrival with the log stove lit and the cabin immaculately clean. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Kitchen has everything you'd need to cook a feast. Some great walks close by and a few waterfalls on the property. The hot tub is perfect for chilling out after a day taking in the sights and watching the sunset over the sea. Would highly recommend and we will be returning!
My boyfriend and I enjoyed a three night stay at Cara's gorgeous woodland cabin, in January. Cara welcomed us to the cabin - check-in was a breeze. She was a text away when we needed her, she even kindly called down to the cabin with lots of taxi numbers/business cards for us which was really helpful.
Located a short drive from Kenmare town, nestled in woodland, it feels so isolated and private but in reality it was still possible to pop to the shops. One of the nights we got a taxi into town for a meal and the taxi cost a very affordable €5!
The cabin is surprisingly much bigger than it seems in the pictures here, and would be ideal for a larger group. Despite this the cabin still felt so cosy and romantic and not 'too big' for a couple. It was spotlessly clean and boasted some fantastic views.
The kitchen was beautiful. It was well stocked with the essentials, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cleaning supplies, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, salt & pepper, cooking oil and even some dried herbs! This was really impressive and made it so pleasant to eat-in.
The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. Occasionally I suffer from backache and while the mattress in the master bedroom did not agree with my back, I had a fantastic nights sleep in another bed.
During our stay we enjoyed a walk in the woods and along the strand near the cabin, a gorgeous meal in No.35, a trip to Moll's Gap and the fabulous Strawberry Fields pancake house and of course a dip in the hot tub cut short only by freezing temperatures and a downpour of rain! But all of the above was with great difficulty as it involved tearing ourselves away from the gorgeous wood burning stove, which we enjoyed to no end. The electricity was affordable too.
Overall a great stay, we would both return and recommend it to anyone hoping to totally relax or alternatively to explore Kerry.
This is in such a beautiful place, and the house is lovely. It was great to be able to cook our own meals and chill out and of course the hot tub is a really nice touch! We made the mistake of not having the stove blazing the first couple of nights and the rooms where cold, but once you get it up high and keep it that way the house is cosy.
Stayed at this wonderful cabin for 7 nights over Christmas. Check in was straightforward. Only saw Cara once but met her partner a few times he was a really nice guy very helpful and great knowledge of the area. The cabin is located metres from their private beach. We picked mussels and oysters on Christmas day and shared a bottle of Champagne in the hot tub which Cara and her partner gave us as a Christmas present. The cabin itself has everything you need for a comfortable stay and Kenmare town is only a 2 minutes drive away. I would recommend this place so much i even tried to purchase the log cabin off them but they refused :-) and i dont blame them....... will 100% return and hope to see you in Gozo with us in the future so we can return your kind hospitality you showed us.
