Quiet secluded cabin right by the sea, with otters and deer (and even the occasional sea eagle!) for company!
Bring your car as there is not a regular bus service here
Other Things to Note
There is an additional charge for electricity. We read the meter at arrival and departure and work out usage as per current electricity prices
We will not be offering short stay holidays in summer 2015 so in July & August 2015 the minimum stay is 7 nights.
Also as the cabin is heated with a wood burning stove, on cold winter days you will need to get a good fire going to heat up the radiators. A big basket of fuel is included in the price.
Minimum stay REALLY is 3 nights, out of season!!
Over peak holiday periods such as Christmas, New Year, Easter and July & August, our minimum night stay is 7 nights.
From start to finish our stay at Cara's log cabin was amazing. The location is great, only €5 in a taxi into Kenmare. The views are breath taking, even better then the pictures! Cara had left us some of the basics like milk and yummy eggs from their hens which was a nice touch.
The weather was beautiful so we got to sit outside in the hot tub during the day and by the lovely stove in the evenings when it got a little chilly.
The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Everything you need.
I can not recommend Cara and her beautiful log cabin enough! We will certainly be back.
Lovely cabin, excellent break and beautiful views. Worked well for a large group and host was very helpful and supplied lots of information for the local area, would definitely recommend.
It's a super cabin in a really great location, it's finished to a high standard. It is much larger than I expected it to be, as the photographs use the trick of a wide angle lens that is often used to make small properties look larger, this is definitely not needed in this case.
I didn't get to meet Cara, but all her communications were prompt.
The hot tub is a very nice feature that not many places have.
There were three of us staying, and we would all most definitely return.
Absolutely gorgeous spot right on the sea, views amazing and if the weather is right great to just sit and relax with the odd dip in the hot tub! Big enough for the whole family but cosy enough for a couples retreat! We'll be going back.
Cara's place was charming, immaculately clean, and equipped with all the amenities one could possibly need for a comfortable family holiday in an incredibly-beautiful, seaside setting. The resident Connemara ponies were a bonus for my daughter. Cara herself was kind and highly-accommodating to my family and myself. I hope to return in the future. A special thanks to Cara's partner, Sam, for his assistance as well.
Impressive, lovely and surpassed our expectations. The cabin was very clean and spacious, and welcoming with the log fire already burning and some tea, coffee and sugar in the cupboards. Towels and linen provided. We stayed in March and did not find the cabin got too cold. The hot tub was incredible: settings for jets and different coloured lights, and well covered so it was very clean. Outside, the private beach (incl. a rope swing and waterfall) were breathtakingly scenic, with the odd otter in the distance if you are lucky. Cara, who was just up the road, was welcoming and responsive, meeting us at the cabin when we arrived and checking in on us before we left on the last morning. We couldn't have asked for more.
Absolutely loved our stay in Caras place! The views from the cabin are amazing and the hot tub is a great addition. The cabin itself is much bigger than it looks in the photos. It's a short drive from the town (5 euro in a taxi) and ideally located to explore the ring of beara and the wild Atlantic way. Would definitely recommend !
