The Cabin was a bit hard to find but once we did, we were warmly greeted. Sam went over how everything worked at the cabin. Snug warm cabin with the stove - beautiful location right on the water. The hot tub was great! We even collected mussels one day at low tide. The beds were comfortable.
Thanks for sharing your cabin with us on our vacation!
Cara was so welcoming, and the arrival and the stay was so simple and easy. Cara was accommodating and the house is great! Love the setting, so peaceful. Will definitely be considering a trip back. Great that there were condiments etc left in the kitchen, made cooking a meal interesting and didn't have to stock up on those basics.
Rooms and bathrooms were super clean. Beds were really comfortable.
All in all a great stay at the cabin in Kenmare!
We were thrilled with our choice to stay here. The views are stunning, the cabin is beautiful and has everything you need. The hot tub and private beach is the unique selling point. Our hosts were very nice, thanks for a wonderful holiday. We hope to return some day.
We really liked our stay in Cara and Sam’s location.
In particular the bay’s view, the calm, the space and the cleanliness of the house. Thanks for Cara and Sam for their welcome. We appreciated very much the jacuzzi. It was always heat by solar energy. Just two little reservations. The first concernes the lack of the heating in the bathrooms, and the second is about the gear which is not enough for eight persons in the kitchen.
Absolutely beautiful, relaxing and cozy location right on the bay. We had a car, and it was just a short drive to downtown Kenmare (maybe 8 to 10 minutes). Cara and her partner Sam live just up the road, so they are right there if you need them (just a very short walk), but otherwise you are in a fantastic, secluded location right on the bay. Very nicely designed, very spacious cabin on the bay. There were 6 of us, and we had plenty of room in the three bedrooms. Very short walk right outside the cabin to a stream with beautiful waterfalls. We sat in the amazing hot tub drinking wine and watching beautiful sunsets, and later the stars after long days of sight seeing. The wood burning stove was wonderful to heat the whole place, and Sam really helped us with it since we weren't familiar with how to use it, but once you got the hang of it, it was really easy. Really gave you the feel for how many Irish people warm their home with the mixture of wood and turf (all generously provided by Sam & Cara). We did have an issue with getting enough hot water for showers, but I really think that part of that was our issue of not explaining the problem very well to Sam, which we did finally at the end, but I am confident that Sam was going to check it out and make sure all was good before the next guests. Sam and Cara are great hosts, and left us fresh eggs from their hens, and a few other essentials. Would definitely recommend this place, and would love to go back again!
From start to finish our stay at Cara's log cabin was amazing. The location is great, only €5 in a taxi into Kenmare. The views are breath taking, even better then the pictures! Cara had left us some of the basics like milk and yummy eggs from their hens which was a nice touch.
The weather was beautiful so we got to sit outside in the hot tub during the day and by the lovely stove in the evenings when it got a little chilly.
The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Everything you need.
I can not recommend Cara and her beautiful log cabin enough! We will certainly be back.
