Welcome to Margaret River!
We are a creative household and live in a beautiful house on the edge of Margaret River. On an acre of bush, it is peaceful, and private. Possums, kangaroos and native birdlife like to share the garden with us! We love to to share with good people.
From our home it is an easy walk to the main street, art galleries, cafes, swimming pool, gymnasium, yoga school, cultural centre, forest and riverside walks, local markets and live music.
Our attic bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed, writing table and a private balcony. Whilst fresh cotton linen and towel are supplied, toiletries are not.
For groups of 3 or 4, you can book an additional bedroom in the house.Just choose “Forest View at River's Edge” by clicking www.airbnb.com/rooms/801829 and book as per usual.
Margaret River is recipient of 2012 Top Tourist Town award and a "must see" destination for beach and wine lovers! The beaches of Margaret River are world famous for their clean surf breaks and spectacular scenery. For families with young children there are several calm safe swimming beaches to suit little ones.
There are over 100 vineyards in the area offering award winning, gold medallist wines and many are featured in James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion 2013.
We would love to direct you to the wineries that will suit your palate, and if you're a beer connoisseur we can direct you to half a dozen great local breweries
I work from home as a sustainable building/landscape designer and writer and love to hear about what's happening in your part of the world over a glass of wine. Whilst I am usually working and here to let you in on arrival. its always helpful if you let me know what time to expect you, as I use the afternoon hours to do site visits, meet clients etc and am not always in
I recommend you call or text me in the morning of your arrival date so we can organise access if I am not able to be at home when you arrive.
Looking forward to hosting you in 2013, and wishing you a brilliant year ahead!
Loved Pamela's property, the setting and vicinity to Margaret River. Pamela is a very warm and friendly host who was very flexible with our arrival time. We very much enjoyed our stay with her. Thank you, Pamela!
Pamela has a lovely home !
Pamela's home is about 15 minute walk from the Margaret River town centre but you feel like you are on private property set well away from town.
The home is split into three sections which allows for privacy when need. It also has a common lounge and garden area to relax and meet the other guests that are staying in the second room, where we met a lovely German couple.
The gardens are immaculately manicured and the rooms a spacious and very comfortable. There are also facilities to store and cook your own meals in a well fitted Kitchen area
Most of all Pamela is a friendly and trusting host who treats her guest like family members in her home. Thank you Pamela we will definitely be recommending you to our wedding guest for our wedding in Margaret River in November.
Thank you, Pamela, for welcoming us into your stunning home: we loved every minute of our first trip to Margaret River and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
Pamela's house is perfectly located: a short drive from the centre of town, but it's so quiet and peaceful that you'd think you were miles from a road. Being so well positioned enabled us to cram a lot into a short stay- only a short drive to the beach, caves, plenty of bushwalking opportunities... and of course all those yummy wineries! Our room was light, airy and incredibly spacious- such a calm and relaxing place to stay.
Pamela is a great host- friendly, accommodating and extremely knowledgeable about the area. She gave us some invaluable tips during our stay and really made us feel at home the whole time.
We're still feasting on the Margaret River memories and will for a long time to come... Our only regret is that because we were out and about so much we didn't have much time to get to know you more. Thank you again for a wonderful stay, we hope we'll be back soon!
We had a great stay with Pamela..
Wonderful house & a great location...!
I loved staying with Pamela. She is a very welcoming and warm host and although you are sharing a kitchen very at ease with guests in her house. The designed house is wonderful complete with beautiful landscaped gardens all set in the midst of what seems to be a large forest. Loved to be woken by the birds in the morning. The house is only a 20 min walk from the centre and a short drive. Nothing was too much for Pamela and she gave valuable advise on wineries and what to see in this wonderful part of the world. Thanks Pamela for the organic peaches from your garden. They were delicious. I will hopefully be back. Dirk
We had the most beautiful weekend at Pamela's. She was such a lovely host - warm and welcoming, informative and helpful, and overall just a nice person to deal with. She gave us the perfect tips for winery's and restaurants - spot on! And then the actual accommodation, such a beautiful house and setting. We'll be back!
Unfortunately we didnt have chance to socialise with Pamela as much as we would have liked to she gets up very early and works in the garden and her studio and also had to leave the day before us. Appreciated her trust to leave us by ourselves in the house.
The house itself is huge and beautiful with very separate living quarters for guests. Location is perfect with easy access to the town although having a car is a necessity unless you are a keen walker.
You are left to your own devices and will need to prepare most foodstuffs for your stay but this is easy enough with 3 supermarkets within 5min drive.
Overall a nice stay in a pleasant place.
I had the pleasure of hosting Olga, her husband Dom and father-in-law John for three nights. Its true, that between my work commitments, and the busy schedule they had planned before they arrived, with tours, dining out and their work commitments online. that we were somewhat like ships in the night. I did very much enjoy the early morning chats with John in the garden. We had much in common with our love of gardening and local wildlife. I was able to show him my wicking bed system for growing vegetables in hot climates as he is about to start his raised vegetable garden beds in Canberra. Despite not seeing much of Dom and Olga, I was still confident that I could safely leave them in my home whilst I left for Perth, earlier than expected. And yes- they were completely trustworthy.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Margaret River. Pamela has created a beautiful home in an idyllic setting and whilst the visiting “roo” might be a problem for locals he was a complete joy for us to see from the balcony window!
Our “attic boudoir” was very warm when we arrived but Pamela assured us it would cool down in the evening – which it did. And as the weather changed we did experience a couple of chilly nights. On the hot days, though it might be nice to have some kind of fly screen on the balcony window so the doors could be open without letting in the mozzies – just a thought?
We weren’t always sure we were doing the right things with regard to recycling etc. so it’s pleasing to read in Pamela’s review of us that we did!
Thanks for the feedback. I do provide a fan in the room once we transition from spring into summer and the window does have a flyscreen attached. Since you left the weather has been quite cool and my garden is thrilled. I do hope you had a gorgeous time in Busselton and continue to enjoy your Aussie adventure. Boris and Laureline have moved on to their next stop and I head for the east coast tomorrow! Such are our privileged lives. Enjoy!
