The stay is pleasant but we would prefer to have a more flexible check out policy. If not, at least our luggage could be stored there for a pick up later. Overall, it is an ok experience!
We booked the room on the same day of arrival and were grateful it was available and that the host would meet us to let us in around midnight. The problem was this... the unit should not even be a rental! We were so shocked that he would rent this out and think it would be o.k! Vincent is either in denial or he is running a scam.. He has 2 other properties that he lists as the same (title) description and has the same decor. We were fooled into thinking we had rented his 1 bedroom unit, not this loft. It was advertised as newly renovated, but it had chipped paint, mold in the shower, rusted heater, old windows that could be opened and a front door lock that stuck so badly that I was concerned that we could not get out! There were bars on all windows. This appeared to be a renovated storage room. It was on the ground floor back corner and there was no unit number or mail box. Vincent is a very tall man and quit assertive and I'm certain he has "bullied" other guests into thinking everything is ok. and not to question the entirely unacceptable rental and the intentional confusion he created. At 1:00 in the morning we just wanted him to leave so we could get to bed and leave as soon as possible to another place in the morning. We did not even unpack! We fortunately found a nice hotel room just down the street and it was even less expensive than this trap!
Airbnb kindly resolved our problem and we would not hesitate to book through them. But beware of Vincent!
Tanya called me at noon and explained me that she arrived with his husband at 11:30 pm,and I said her it's was ok.
She arrived finally at 1:00 am in the night ,and I checked with her and his husband, and all was ok,I showed them my flat, wifi, coffee machine Nespresso with capsules, tea, and they saw on my website it's was a studio ,all is written on and I have more than 80 good reviews !
They told me (it was 1:20 am !! ,and I worked all day long and waiting for them at this time) IT WAS OK!!!
My flat is a good one ,all has been clean and built in 2012,March ,and there is so many good reviews, that everyone can check it.
And there is only one bar closed to my flat ,I was waiting them in this bar and when they arrived it was closed!!
I don't understand why they leave, and I don't understand why they didn't tell me what they didn't like when I was with them!
I want to precise that AIRBNB didn't refund them one €!!!!!
Tanya is not a sincere person ,and it's not fair to write a wrong review
The apartment is conveniently located with all the household equipment provided. The apartment is a bit to small for 5 people.
Great location and helpful checkin. Nice and compact apartment. Great proximity to good food and transport. Excellent hot water supply for 3 people. Would have appreciated a toilet seat though. Overall a good and happy stay.
Unfortunately I was a little disappointed with my stay. Firstly, it stated that check in was at 12pm, we arrived before 12:30pm and there was nobody to let us in, after several unanswered calls Vincent picked up and informed me that the house keeper was still cleaning and the apartment would be ready at 14:00pm but he would call her so she could let us in to leave our luggage. The house keeper was in fact not even in Paris yet. After standing outside the apartment for 30 minutes, we decided to retreat to a coffee shop and try to get through to Vincent again to find out what was happening. Finally we got through to him, although he apologise, he never explained the mix up. Eventually we managed to meet with the housekeeper to get in to the apartment at 15:30, 3 1/2 hours later than stated. I wouldn't have minded so much, but we only had 24 hours in Paris.
The apartment was fine but in desperate need of a lick of paint. Also the toilet needs a toilet seat which I found disgusting.
until these changes are made, I wouldn't recommend staying at this place, especially at £73. I've stayed in Paris for cheaper and the apartment has been lovely.
