If you loved “the Holiday” you will love this quintessentially English cottage! This gorgeous cottage is a timber-framed Grade II listed terraced property, protected as a building of special architectural and historic interest. The older part of the house, comprising the dining room and bedroom above, dates from the early 16th century. The cottage is beautifully decorated in Laura Ashley and is an absolute delight and has a lovely view of the pretty gardens and the picturesque Surrey hills.

The space
The cottage has two bedrooms with double beds, and a sofa bed in the lounge. However, there is a maximum limit of four adults, although child guests may be allowed to a maximum of six people in total. Outside there are three patio areas for outside dining, a lovely pergola, a gas BBQ and Wendy House for children. Inside there is a spacious kitchen, cosy dining room for formal dining and a log burning stove in the lounge which provides ambience and warmth. Typical of the era, it has a crooked roof and lots of beams so mind your head!

The front door is located on the right side of the property- the cottage is accessed through the green front gate.

Other things to note
No smoking, pets or parties, under any circumstances. The cottage is located near the centre of this peaceful, quiet village with adjoining neighbours and needs to be respected for the tranquil haven that it is. It's nestled in the picturesque Surrey hills and is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway or just a lovely retreat to relax in the back garden with a BBQ or in the cosy lounge with a book. The beautiful villages and walking trails of Shere, Gomshall, Albury, Chilworth and Shalford are only 5-15 minutes away by car.

Neighborhood highlights

Wonersh is a peaceful and serene village located just a few miles from the historic town of Guildford. Train journeys from Guildford to London average 35 minutes. Nearby is the picturesque hamlet of Shere with its 13th century church, pub and stocks! Most of the houses in Wonersh were built during the tudor period and the views of the surrounding area are absolutely stunning. It is truly the perfect quintessential English village. “Holiday”fans will know that Wonersh was the setting for Jude Law’s house, and will be delighted to know that the sequel will be filmed locally in 2023!
