Large Room, King bed, private bath

Chalet - Private room · Forest Trail, Winter Park, CO 80482, United States

The Space

This room is the nicest of the three bedroom apartment I have listed here. It includes access to the common areas which include a fully stocked kitchen, 2 areas with several couches for seating, a dining area, and much more! For more specifics, read on:

Bedroom Includes:
-California King bed w/ pillow-top and electric mattress heater
-Desk w/ desktop computer available
-Projector with a 100 inch screen and a 5.1 sound system that can be used while you are under the covers
-Private bathroom with shower
-Large closet (has some stuff of mine in it, which you are welcome to borrow)
-Awesome views of the mountains and a south-facing porch with access from the bedroom.

Apartment Includes:
-Plenty of delicious home-brewed beer
-Wooden burning fireplace
-Access to a hot tub, weight room, and free laundry facilities
-Large flat screen TV with Xfinity cable/On Demand
-Free wi-fi access
-1960s cabinet style record player
-Fully stocked kitchen
-Right on the orange bus line which will take you straight to the base of the resort.
-Walking distance from all the bars downtown
-Depending upon the season, up to 2 wonderful room mates

Aside from the resort, there are all kinds of things to do within about 10 minutes. The location is perfect, being only about 1/4 mile from the National Forest.
Winter: Downhill ski, cross country ski, snowshoe, snowmobile, dog sled, sled in the park downtown, beer tasting at The Library, live music at Ullr's Tavern
Summer: Hike, mountain bike (cross country or downhill), road bike, fly fishing, whitewater rafting, live music in the park every Thursday, drive to the top of the continental divide on Corona Pass Road, beer tasting at The Library, live music at Ullr's Tavern

Unfortunately, it is a 3 bedroom apartment so there will probably be someone else staying in one of the rooms during your stay. Due to this, I can make no guarantees as to the cleanliness of the common areas (and is the reason I am a lot cheaper than everything else in this area!). I also just adopted a dog this past summer, so this may not be the best place if you have pet allergies.

  • Everything was as expected - that counts as a good review from me :)

  • Had a great time at Jeff's place in Winter Park. He's a pretty chill fellow with lots of great experiences behind him. I look forward to staying at his place again next time I get myself to Winter Park.

  • Jeff is a really friendly person, how did his best in making our stay comfortable. We immediately felt at home and actually sat together almost every evening for a good chat or some board game. Jeff's dog is a real cutie and very entertaining as well. I can only recommend staying with Jeff!

  • Weekend stay to go skiing

    March 2014
  • I came to Winter Park alone to board for a week straight. I lucked out in a big way staying with Jeff. During the week I hung out with him and his friends going to dinner, happy hour and even playing board games. During the weekend I went boarding with Jeff and his friends and saw parts of the mountain I never would have gone to without a local to show the way.

Overall, amazing experience despite coming alone.

  • I came to Winter Park, CO for a short 4 day ski trip. Jeff was quick to reply my email inquiries before reserving. Upon arrival, he (and his room mate, Christina, and dog, Zia...) turned out to be a great host. He was very friendly and helpful, even before I arrived The room was great and I could use the rest of the apartment as well, kitchen, living room. Jeff even invited me one night to the hot tub in the neighboring building, which is a great experience after a day of skiing...

The building is conveniently located steps away from one of the bus lines that travel between the town and the ski resort, which makes getting to/from ski very easy. The night bus also stops at the same stop, which makes traveling for after-ski nightlife/shopping easy as well.

  • This was the perfect place to stay for a weekend skiing up in Winter Park. Very close to the slopes and also to great restaurants at the end of the day in town. The bed was warm and cozy. The views were lovely. There is easy access to a hot tub. What more could one ask for? Thanks Jeff!

  • Myself and my friend ended up staying in the King room. Jeff's dog Zia was very friendly and Jeff gave us some bath towels. The apartment was not as tidy as the pictures but the apt. had everything we needed for a 2 day skiing trip. We used the outdoor hot tub in the condo complex. The heated comforter was nice after a long of skiing.

  • My 8 year old son and I stayed with Jeff for 2 nights in December....we had a great time! The house vibe was very mellow and quiet. I wish I would have taken him up on the hot tub offer...but I didn't have a suit. He even had robes available to use! The location was great, we had great snow, the dog was a sweetheart once she got to know us, which took about 2 minutes. I would definitely recommend Jeff's place.

About
I just started an online retail business, Moonshine Distiller (AirBnB won't let me put the web address, so (website hidden) it if you're curious). Brewing has really taken off in the past couple decades, and I would love to see distilling do the same. The first step is getting people involved in it! Skiing is amazing. It is the one thing I have loved unconditionally since I was 1. And now I do it for a living. Biking, also something I have loved forever (since I was 3, without training wheels). And now I do it for a living. Whitewater boating, also something I have loved (since I was 8). And now I do it for a living. I really enjoy hanging out with people and having a good time, being social and all, but at the same time I am just as content to being solitary. I am very passionate about the music I like. I love the outdoors. I love beer and can appreciate all forms of it; good/bad, expensive/cheap, or dark/light. If there is a beer on tap that I have not had, you can bet I will be trying it. I often like to make life more difficult for myself. I am thrifty. When I ask people, "If I were an animal, what would I be?" The most common response is an eagle/falcon/hawk or a cheetah. I love different cultures, which is why I love traveling and hosting people. I love to cook. I love to make beer. I love being my own handyman. I just enjoy doing things myself.
