Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as they like. I am a very keen cyclist and love hiking in the mountains so can provide all you need to know. Also very well travelled around Ireland so can help you plan the next stage of your trip
Peaceful area in the heart of The Golden Vale yet close to major transport routes. Tipperary is a county of immense natural beauty, with a unique and ancient heritage. Shaped by the rugged Galtee Mountains and the River Suir, Tipperary has some of Irelands most breathtaking scenery and dotted with towns and villages. Cashel is home to the iconic Rock of Cashel. One of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Ireland and one of the most visited. Cashel’s rich history is reflected in its built heritage, from prehistoric earth mounds to mediaeval monasteries and fortified town houses, a Georgian Cathedral and a 21st century Library (which holds regular exhibitions, workshops and concerts). The Georgian quarter also boasts the Bolton Library where you can find the smallest book in Ireland.
With 3 mountain ranges nearby its a mecca for the outdoors. Cycling routes are endless!
Good transport to Cashel. My home is located 3km outside town so having your own car is best. Of course cycling tourists will be most welcome also!
Other Things to Note
Must like my dog (9 year old lab). He likes everyone who gives him food
no smoking inside the house - outside on the deck is fine
Helen is a really nice and friendly host, she had some good tipps for trips in the area and was really helpfull. It was a nice and cosy room with owen bathroom. We were very happy to stay in her beautiful house. I would advise a stay to everybody. :)
This was such a great place to stay in! Helen made us feel quite at home, and was very easy-going. Our room was very clean and tidy. She also gave us great ideas for places to visit during our stay, one of them being an old abbey not far from her place which was quite memorable.
Helen & Finn live in a beautiful home in a manor-like setting. They were charm itself and so very helpful in pointing out sites to see as well as giving great directions.
I booked this room last minute as I was travelling from Kerry to Dublin, and I'm glad I did. Helen was a wonderful host, just as gregarious and affable as anyone I've ever met in my life. I really enjoyed chatting with her about my travels. I never would have found the Athassel Abbey if she hadn't told me about it, and it was remarkable! The house is amazing, and on a beautiful secluded country road, but quite easy to access from Cashel, just maybe 5 minutes by car. The room was very clean and comfortable, I had a great night's sleep! Very nice, clean bathroom too, right next door to the bedroom. Helen is an excellent host and I'd recommend staying here if you're looking for a place in the Cashel area!
We felt like family staying with helen. She is friendly and helpful and great company. Her dog finn, a golden lab is loveley. We stayed a week and glad we did as there is too much to see and do in this area in a couple of days.
helen recommended a lot of places to go and see, all of which were fantastic.
