About This Listing
A new, beautiful cabin with incredible view over Eyjafjörður and Akureyri. The cabin is situated aproximately a ten minutes drive from the town of Akureyri, the capital of the north of Iceland. Two bedrooms with double beds, both queen size, and a sleeping loft with another double bed, queen size as well. Additionally there is a sleeping sofa in the living room, so in all the cabin can accommodate up to eight people, although that might be a bit tight. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a great dining area and a beautiful living room with the sleeping sofa. Also, a very nice bathroom with shower. Outside you will find a big veranda with an outdoor jacuzzi (icelandic style !) and the most incredible view. Perfectly located for traveling around the north of beautiful Iceland. The cabin is also very close to Iceland's best skiing facilities in the winter, as Akureyri is Iceland's finest ski resort.
In Akureyri you can find all sorts of attractions like one of Iceland's finest swimming pools, art galleries, restaurants, cinemas, museums and so on.
The most popular tourist attractions on the northern side of Iceland like Lake Mývatn and Dettifoss are quite close by. Mývatn 1 hour and Dettifoss less than 2 hours by car.
Just take care of our cabin, as we're quite fond of it. Don't leave doors open, as there is always the danger of mice coming in, especially when it's cold outside.
Adolf and Systa's home just on the other side of the fjord of Akureyri is the perfect location and has INCREDIBLE views of Iceland's northern capital, the mountains, the sun that never sets, the list goes on. Walking or jogging from their cabin affords sumptuous views of the surroundings and discovery of hidden waterfalls along with local flocks of sheep. We would highly recommend this cabin for anyone who has a party of 4 adults, up to six with kids, especially first-timers to Iceland like us! Our hosts gave us helpful recommendations for local eats, hikes and other day trips from Akureyri.
We had 3 nights in the cabin and it was even better than we imagined. The cabin is nice and small and the terrace and the jacuzzi are amazing.
At first we couldn't find it, because there is no exact address, but once we found it, it was perfect. The city close to the cabin is very small and not much is going on, but the place is perfect if you like nature and just want to relax.
The system with the key is very smart and convenient.
The cabin has the most amazing view and we can really recommend this place if you want to visit the north of Iceland.
If we're going back to Iceland, we will definitely come back to Adolf and Systa's cabin.
We spent 3 nights at this location and had a great stay! The cabin has everything you need, it's clean and offers a lot of space. The view over the fjord is fantastic, especially from the hot tub :) We were lucky and could watch whales from the couch :)
We recommend this accommodation to everyone!
We had a great 3 night stay at grammas house, it was warm and relaxing, we enjoyed the hot tub and incredible views very much. We spotted some Dolphins or something in the harbor using the house binoculars. The town was a nice spot to visit as well, a great home base for exploring myvatn, Husavik and other nearby attractions. Nice bookstore and coffee shops. Indian curry hut!
The cabin was wonderful, it had the most amazing view from the hot tub! It was clean and well equipped, with a cozy open living, dining, kitchen area. Five of us stayed here comfortably. It was nice that the hosts provided two sets of towels so we could have one for the hot tub and another for showers. The hosts always responded very quickly. The cottage was about an hour drive from myvatn which was a nice day trip. Overall, a great experience!
One of the best places we stayed in our 2 weeks trip. Clean, quiet, spacious, fabulous view. We loved the full-equipped kitchen and jacuzzi specifically. Love it.
