About this listing
A new, beautiful cabin with incredible view over Eyjafjörður and Akureyri. The cabin is situated aproximately a ten minutes drive from the town of Akureyri, the capital of the north of Iceland. Two bedrooms with double beds, both queen size, and a sleeping loft with another double bed, queen size as well. Additionally there is a sleeping sofa in the living room, so in all the cabin can accommodate up to eight people, although that might be a bit tight. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a great dining area and a beautiful living room with the sleeping sofa. Also, a very nice bathroom with shower. Outside you will find a big veranda with an outdoor jacuzzi (icelandic style !) and the most incredible view. Perfectly located for traveling around the north of beautiful Iceland. The cabin is also very close to Iceland's best skiing facilities in the winter, as Akureyri is Iceland's finest ski resort.
In Akureyri you can find all sorts of attractions like one of Iceland's finest swimming pools, art galleries, restaurants, cinemas, museums and so on.
The most popular tourist attractions on the northern side of Iceland like Lake Mývatn and Dettifoss are quite close by. Mývatn 1 hour and Dettifoss less than 2 hours by car.
Just take care of our cabin, as we're quite fond of it. Don't leave doors open, as there is always the danger of mice coming in, especially when it's cold outside.
It was our second stay at this wonderful cabin. We loved it so much the first time three years ago that we were always thinking about coming back. And it was just as we remembered it: Absolut great location with a spectacular view (if there is no fog), a nice jacuzzi and a cozy cabin which is very well equipped. Adolf was always very quick to answer our questions and very helpful.
A wonderful week in a sublime cottage with a fantastic view!
Very confortable beds, modern fully-equipped kitchen, power shower, enjoyable jacuzzi. Everything was as written in the description of the property. Many spices to be used to accomodate BBQ meats.
Very clean cottage. Soft towels and linens.
Things we did from there : Akureyri (city and hiking trails around), Myvatn, whale watching in Haugarnes (at least 20 humpback whales seen, one jump), the three fjords in the North of the peninsula, jacuzzi, jacuzzi, jacuzzi with beers (Einstök withe ale and Ul fur are the best!).
Our bad was to expect a washer... thet the cottage doesn't offer. Something to remeber if you arrive to the cottage after already one week backpacking in Iceland as we did :o)
Adolf was always there to answer quickly to any question we had.
Just perfect. The hot tub has the best view in the whole fjord. Adolf and Systa make this a home from home by providing everything you need.
Staying in your cabin was just wonderful! We should have booked more nights. We saw a whale jumping out of the sea while sitting in the hot pot! What a coincidence! Thank you very much for this experience!
We have spent 3 very pleasant days in this cabin. The view is spectacular indeed and the area of Akureiry very nice as well. The house is very comfortable and charming.
I almost cried when we had to leave it. The house is fantastic and welcoming. But being in the jacuzzi on the fjord, watching the sunset is one of the best memories I have left Iceland. Adolf and Systa instructions were clear and precise with respect to the house. Fantastic and highly recommended.
