About this listing

The Blue Room, wood floors, hi ceilings, is located in the back of the house and has DTLA views. It's on the second floor, large and bright, with great cross ventilation large windows and outside the windows is an old southern pecan tree. It's like living in a tree house without the bugs! We are close, one and a half blocks north to the bus and metro systems, near Western and Wilshire Blvds and one the same distance south to Olympic Blvd. Come visit you'll love it. Great for working singles.

The space

In a wonderful 1920's historic Spanish style house, a large airy private guest room with a queen size bed, completely furnished with Mission furniture, includes fresh linens, WIFI cable, and utilities, and walk in closet. Sometimes share bathroom, depending on who is in the house, sometimes have the bathroom all to yourself. Share kitchen, large front and back yards with mature trees and rose gardens where the huming birds visit twice a day! dance/workout/ pilates studio in back yard. The entire home is beautifully furnished with antiques, hi ceilings, and hardwood floors. There is also outdoor dining if you so wish.

There is plenty of on street parking in a quiet residential tree-lined street; Centrally located in mid city LA, minutes to charming Larchmont Village where many varied international restaurants abound also the famous Larchmont Village Pizza Parlor; it's a monster hit! Best pizza in town. Drive or bus east a few minutes along Olympic Blvd ( it is not necessary to take the 10 east Freeway known as the Santa Monica Freeway) and you will be at the Nokia Theater the the LA Sports Arena. Drive west a few minutes and you are at the Grove (Fairfax and Third) LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Hollywood is a few minutes north along Vine Street, just three blocks west of my street. Beverly Hills is further west from Fairfax, along Wilshire or Olympic Blvds, Traveling still further west, you reach UCLA and then Santa Monica and the beach with famous Venice Muscle Beach. These locations are all extremely convenient from my house. LAX is only 20 minutes from my house along La Cienega Blvd and Century Blvds. Confused! Oh Well! Probably how I wrote about it. It's all OK. It is all so close and that is a plus because traffic here can be a challenge!

Walk one anda half blocks to the bus on Wilshire and Olympic ; UCLA is 7.6 miles along Wilshire Blvd (takes 21 minutes with no traffic. USC is 5.6 miles away and 12 minutes if there is light traffic along Olympic Blvd. Again, using public transportation you have easy access to Hollywood, the movie studios Paramount, Universal, Twentieth Century Fox, and Warner Bros.the Grove, Beverly Hills, Beverly Center ( a very recently renovated mall) Santa Monica and the Calif. beaches. Using a car, one has access to both the 10, Santa Monica Freeway and the 101, the Hollywood Freeway.

We have friendly cocker spaniel dogs which are all rescues from the Los Angeles Animal Shelters.

The neighborhood is very quiet, perfect for relaxation and study. We have hosted writers, law and medical students, actors and musicians. There is ample street parking on the tree lined street should you need it..

We look forward to making your stay in LA as comfortable and convenient and friendly as possible.

Jennifer is a great, kind host. She was very welcoming. My room had a big closet so i could fix in it with my 4 luggages as i moved recently here from abroad. The parking is very easy, you can find a place on both of the street easily. The house is very nice, it's an old Spanish style building and there's a garden back of the house so you can enjoy your coffee at this peaceful place. And of course Charlie, Stella (the dogs) and Bebe (the cat) are the cutest. I would recommend this place to anyone, you will have great time in this beautiful historic house with a charming, elegant host for sure.

Jennifer is the kindest, loveliest person I have stayed with yet. She runs an oasis of calm in the heart of a crazy city. She made me feel extremely welcome and very comfortable, whilst I have been away from my own family. Elegant. Generous. Thoughtful. If you are lucky enough to be chosen to stay with her, I cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Jennifer for everything!

The host, Jennifer, was a terrific host and very personable. She is not new to the rental game and has put restrictions in place to benefit the good of all the guests equally. She was always helpful and accommodating throughout my stay. The cats and dogs were a joy!

A perfect stay made me feel like home. Spacious room with large windows, letting the sun fill in the room. But the house itself is not just a roof and the walls, it's more than that. It's a genuine historic place with walls covered with photos of great people and stories to listen to. Charming host, Jennifer, made my stay perfectly comfortable and welcoming. While keeping my privacy intact, Jennifer is the perfect companion to talk with, thanks to her huge aesthetic background and her being a part of an cultural elite class. Hope I stay there sometime again.

It was so great staying with Jennifer, I actually extended my stay for another month! She's a great hostess, so nice and fun to talk to (she has the best stories!) and she keeps the house, rooms, and bathrooms super clean. The house is very beautiful and has a lot of great stuff, like antique furniture. I loved my room, it was so big and bright and airy. And I loved the pets!! They're all very friendly and well-trained. The neighborhood is great, very pretty and it felt safe. Parking is really easy, just make sure you pay attention to the street cleaning signs! There's a Rite Aid that's an easy walking distance, which was nice. It's an awesome location, super close to the Grove and 3rd street and all the fun stuff over there. I would recommend this place to anyone - short term or long term, you're guaranteed to have a great time staying with Jennifer!

Heh there! airbnb travelers. Growing up in Queensland Australia, I did what many Australians do. We travel the world; Have lived, worked in London, Paris, Rome, Moscow, Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles. Currently, well, always, teaching and choreographing dance; also work as a realtor, and rescue abandoned old unwanted animals. Being a host to airbnb travellers has proven very satisfying as I am constantly meeting wonderful caring people of all ages from around the has expanded my life and I have made some wonderful new friends whom I would never have met had I not been an airbnb host.
