  • The room is well located, it's 2 blocks away of the MTA, it takes around 45 mins to get from there to manhattan making only one train transfer. Crown Heights it's a calm neighborhood, and the area around the house is safe, it is in the heart of a orthodox jewish community, so it's very calmed, you can even see children on the streets. There are grocery stores and cafés around the area.
The room is nice, you have enough warm blankets at your disposition, and the house warm in winter. The room's heat didn't worked well one night, but Larry went to fix it as soon as he could.

I stayed 4 nights only with my mom, we were a bit scared because we were alone at the whole floor, but after the first night we realized there was nothing to be afraid of :)

Larry was helpful and friendly all the time. I would totally recommend it if you want a place to stay in NYC that is cheap, provides you with a warm bed, kitchen, and hot water to shower. You're gonna probably stay out all day long if you go to NY, so it's a nice place to rest during night.

If you are looking to have places to hang out around, better go closer to Williamsburg or Brooklyn center.

  • the house was nice Larry kept it clean and well kept. my only complaint is that the room I stayed in had no windows, I would reccomend requesting a room with windows if that is an accodmation that matters to you. Other than that I had a good time and enjoyed the area.

  • Unfortunately, we could'nt have one of the room with a window, and the temperature was very too hot for sleeping correctly (it was around the 12th of september) but Larry was very helpful with us.
The room was clean when we come and the location is very near from the subway. The location is also safe. However, I hope you are not fussy because you have to share one little bathroom, for 4 rooms.
I think it's good place if you are young and you don't have so much money to sleep near New York.

  • This room offers GREAT VALUE for your money and Larry is a very kind host. We were lucky to get a big room with windows, exactly like the one shown in the ad. The bedroom was nice & clean when we got there, only downside was the plastic cover in the mattress which makes you sweaty & sticky despite the fresh linen. There is only one bathroom for the 6 people staying there so expect a funny smell in the afternoons & you're also bound to wait a while to use it - I ended up running to the nearest Starbucks in Manhattan, which by the way is much faster to get to if you use both the red and green subway lines. We never used the kitchen; the goodies there looked like expired left-behinds from previous guests so you'd better go buy yourself some in the mini-market that's just around the corner. I was there for a Jewish wedding so the location was fantastic (walking distance to the venue) and very interesting to visit. Overall, a very good experience for young travelers on a budget!

  • Larry is a great host. The house is very nice and clean. There is a kitchen which can be used every time. There is a nice terrace as well. I will def. come back. Thank you larry and nora!

  • Larry is a great host, he always does everything to make you feel comfortable and he's very kind.
There is no Air Conditioner but he provides 2 fans so you can be feel good. Every day he cleans the house, which is very good.
The only advice I would give is to make sure one of the 2 big rooms is available because the little rooms don't have windows and you can't see the sun light. At first we had a little room but the moment the guests from one of the big rooms left we asked Larry to change us there and he accepted.
It has a great backyard where you can make bbq's and even have breakfast. We enjoyed!
It's great to have the Subway station near home.

  • Very good experience at Nora's place. It is clean, very close to the metro station. The place is not a palace but you know what you pay for, no bad surprises. Thank you to Nora, she was helpful.

  • This room is the best choise, who want rent quite, safety place in noizy New York. 5 minutes from SubWay station (also there are a lot of bus routes), full day-night police car(for control situation). There are a lot of caffee (btw 24hours), and different shops. Ther room was cozy, comfortable & clean. Kitchen and bathroom are always pretty good too. It's the best variant to have vacation in NY. Thanks Larie and Nora for their kindness. We're very appreciated. Thanks!
