The Space

This old house has beautiful light, an artist's retreat!
The home was built in 1925 and retains the old world charm of hardwood floors, oak molding, heavy wooden doors, old style bathtub. It is a dutch colonial home in historic Haddonfield just minutes from Philadelphia. Within walking distance you have: the Patco train to Phila., a quaint downtown loaded with shopping, cafes, restaurants, yoga studios, parks, churches and a food market. In the fair weather months we also have a Farmer's Market every Saturday morning as well as festivals throughout the year!
By car we are 1 hour to Atlantic City and beaches, 2 hours to NYC, 3 hrs to DC.
The house is very comfy and cozy with 2 full bathrooms: 1 shower & 1 (email hidden)e bathroom on the first floor is brand new, completely tiled with a beautiful shower! The large bathroom on the 2nd floor has a wonderful old soaking tub and plenty of room to move about.
All 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. The blue room has a queen bed and the morning sun will great you through the east facing window. The yellow room has a queen bed and gets mid-day and afternoon sun. The lavender room is smaller, has a double bed and faces the rear of the house overlooking the gardens.
I provide all linens: 100% cotton sheets and down comforters for your comfort. In case of allergies, please let me know, I also have tradition blankets and comforters.

There is a full kitchen complete with dishes, pots & pans, silverware: everything you need to cook at home. The living room looks out over a covered front porch. The dining room will seat up to 8 comfortably. There is a set of double french doors that open up to a patio and beautiful gardens beyond. There is cable TV and wireless internet, street and driveway parking. Please note: you must park in the driveway overnight.
I have lived in the area most of my life, so I know it well!

If you are traveling with small children I do have a crib*, pack and play, stroller (for 1), a high chair, and various other child friendly items... please inquire.
*crib set up is $75.

  • Colette was super easy to work with, quick response and very accommodating. She was so pleasant to meet in person and show us the house and tell us local info.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Colette's place! It's just a short walk to lovely downtown Haddonfield, which has great shops and restaurants. We spent several days in Philadelphia, which is only a 15 minute drive away -- very convenient, and we didn't have to pay for parking like we would have at a hotel, which saved us LOTS of cash. The house is clean and cozy, and the neighborhood is great. Also, Colette was very helpful and gracious. We stayed with a 10-yr-old, and we'd recommend this home to any traveling family.

  • Great experience in a really beautiful town. This was the first time we have used airbnb and Colette went over and above what was expected. We had 2 very young children with us and they loved the whole week especially the small house play house she borrowed for our stay. We will absolutely contact her the next time in town.

  • What a wonderful place to stay! We have two small children and were looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay while visiting family. Colette's house was "charming" as described, perfect for our family and Colette was a gracious host making sure that she was available with any questions. We will definitely keep her in mind if we travel to the area again!

  • My family needed a place to stay for several weeks badly and Colette opened up her home and made a difficult situation very welcoming and better. Not only was she a gracious host, but her neighbors welcome you in with charm and margaritas! I recommend anyone to stay with Colette and her great home in Haddonfield! Walk to town to get coffee in the am, what a great place to stay.

  • After my New York experience, this was a breath of fresh air! Colette meet us at the house and let us check in early. The house is very nicely kept and is very clean. It is decorated with such personal touch that you feel so much at home here. We were at Colette's house for 2 nights but it was the most comfortable part of our trip. Colette provided us with a lot of good tourist information and pamphlets. It was much appreciated. I found the house to be very cozy and host to be very kind. Parking is free...which is awesome! Philadephia is only 20 mins by train and its only $5.75 both ways, if you don't wish to take your car around. Otherwise finding a parking can be a challenge and expensive.

  • Colette's house was just perfect for our family visit to South Jersey. It is a charming, intimate house with gorgeous flower gardens in the back hard. Everything we needed was right there, including good WiFi. It is within walking distance of downtown Haddonfield. There is a top notch coffee shop Just two blocks away - Jersey Java. And one of our favorite sandwich places is just down the road - The Bread Board Plus. There are some nearby trails for joggers interested in a good run. Colette checked in with us a couple of times to make sure everything was good. We hope to stay here again on our return visits.

  • Colette was an excellent hostess with a very well appointed 2 bedroom house with both a front and back porch. She helped with menues from local reataurants and maps of the area and Philadelphia. Commutting to the city was fairly easy and not too bad even in rush hour.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

  • Colette was always accessible for questions; she was kind to give her entire home to my family that were visiting from outside the country. The living room and kitchen area are spacious. There's free Wi-Fi. The home is truly historic in the true sense of the word. Its in Haddonfield, one of the best suburbs of New Jersey, and very accessible to the high-speed line to Philly, and also close to downtown Haddonfield that is full of coffee shops, restaurants and other interesting stores for an evening stroll.

I am very outgoing and friendly. I enjoy meeting new people, traveling to new places and learning about other cultures. I love to cook with friends, go to wine tastings, gardening, enjoying the outdoors: kayaking, cycling, the beach. I love live music, art, photography, and yoga. I lived in NYC for nearly 10 years and I enjoy visiting for a day or two. Paris, Firenze and Santa Barbara are a few of my favorite destinations... still lots more places to visit! After having recently finished a 2 1/2 week tour in Europe, where 90% of my accommodations were airbnb properties, I have a new appreciation for what it's like to be the guest! Happy Travels!
