Get the genuine Irish experience. Old Irish charm in the most historic heart of Dublin city. Quiet, peaceful neighbourhood but with all amenities and a stroll from the action!
*Cottage available dates in March 2014 only at the moment. Min stay 3 nights*
Ryan's Irish Cottage is located in the central location of 'Stoneybatter' in Dublin City Centre.
The cottage is our home and we only rent the cottage when we are away ourselves
Stoneybatter is an ancient neighbourhood settled by the Vikings and which featured in period film and tv including Michael Collins biopic starring Liam Neeson. The cul-de-sac is a very quiet residential area and mostly populated by elderly Dublin characters!
The cottage has been extended, insulated and modernised inside.
Would perhaps suit a couple looking for a comfortable, warm Irish cottage as a base to sight-see or for a quiet getaway.
MOD CONS: gas fired central heating with timer, always-on hot water, double glazing, wooden floors throughout, free wi-fi, fridge, cooker & oven, washing machine, clothes horse, one double bedroom, heated undersheet, fully equipped kitchen (full range of condiments, milk and Irish creamery butter included), bathroom with shower (fresh towels, shower gel, shampoo and hand wash supplied). Sitting room and dining room with glass dining table, antique mirror, bookshelf, 3-seater leather sofa and blanket box.
AMENITIES: The cottage is centrally located so all amenities and sights are only a few minutes walk. The local grocery stores, restaurants and a pharmacy are at the end of the street.
'Stoneybatter' is a lively area with real Irish pubs, restaurants and indeed takeaways for cosy nights in. 'The Cobblestone', an old Dublin pub is at the end of the street - a favourite haunt of Steve Martin who regularly flies in on his jet for the nightly traditional Irish music!
For those with mobility issues, the local LUAS stop is 'Smithfield' and a three minute walk through the narrow, cobbled streets. We are just two short stops on the LUAS tram to the heart of the city centre. There is on-street parking directly in front of the cottage for those with a rental car.
Ireland's oldest pub, The Brazen Head is a 4 minute walk!! Guinness Storehouse is just across the River Liffey from the cottage! Christchurch, Trinity College, Heuston Station all close by. The Jameson Distillery is on the doorstep in (website hidden). Michan's Church around the corner hosts the remains of a Crusader and Wolfe Tone in the ancient vaults - a tour of the vaults is highly recommended!
Full interaction prior to arrival. We'll be present when guests arrive if in am.
It is the oldest part of Dublin and steeped in history. The genuine Irish experience!
Full access to all types of public transport available
The Ryan's provided a warm welcome and a homely feel. The cottage is ideal for a couple wanting to be close to all major attractions. Stoneybatter is a great location which provides easy walking to the city centre and nearby Pheonix park. I have no hesitation in recommending the quaint cottage to travellers who want to be apart of what Dublin has on offer..

Staying with the Ryans was absolutely perfect. Their cottage was very homey, and they left us food, towels, and everything else we might need for the trip. They were very kind and helpful. Their wonderful hospitality made our trip a pleasure!
Staying at the Ryan's cottage was simply perfect. We stayed for 4 nights during the St. Patrick's weekend & we loved it there. The Ryan's were very helpful and friendly. Their cottage is very cosy...we felt very comfortable & we enjoyed staying there. Everything at the cottage worked properly and they supplied us with everything. I would definitely stay there again cause everything was great. It is also perfectly located close to everything. Great experience...Loved Dublin! :)
