Despite its proximity to the city, Dilar preserves the appearance of a small village, without homogenous and crowded neighborhoods. It is sorrounded by the Alayos mountains and the snow covered summit of the Veleta mount. It is a spectacular landscape diversity for tones and colors that adorn it in every seasons, so it’s the contrast between the rugged and bare mountains and the green plain of the Dilar’s river valley.
The rural tourism becomes the best incentive in promoting our village, due to the different places where we can walk, hike or horseback riding in the Sierra Nevada national park.
Its people are friendly and hospitable, the Mediterranean climate mixed to a privileged location near the city of Granada, Costa Tropical, Sierra Nevada and the Alpujarra, make this town one of the best places in the world for a wonderful holiday.
The apartment is located in a very central position with shops, pharmacy, supermarket, restaurant
and a free swimming pool for our guests
Medical service and health care from monday to friday
The beaches, the Sierra Nevada and the Alpujarras mountains are at less than 30 minutes, Granada, by the A44 motorway is at just 10 min.
Our stay was great at Maria's apartment in Dilar. Maria met us on arrival and gave us some recommendations for grocery shopping and what to do in Granada. Our first night we ate at a restaurant in the village which ended up being quite good. The bus to the city is very convenient - perhaps a 30 second walk from the apartment to the bus stop. It is a 30 minute ride, costs 1.50 euros, and the service was always punctual. The rooftop terrace was fantastic that provided perfect mountain views while eating breakfast. If I go to Granada again, I will be staying at her apartment over anything in the city. It was very relaxing. She also let us overstay the checkout time since there was no one coming in that day - very much recommended!
A lovely apartment in a quite village.
Great host with everything you might need. Close to Granada but out off the busy tourist area. The only problem was our gps could not find Maria's apartment address but we called her and she explained and waited on the corner.
Perfect place to stay if you have a car ,not far from the city center of Granada in a lovely village.
Everything in the flat is brand new, it's really well equipped and the terrace is overlooking at 360°
Besides, Maria Carmen is nice and really smiling. so it was a wonderful stay.
We enjoyed staying here as the views onto the Sierra Nevada from the shared roof top terrace are magnificent. Maria was very quick responding to our last minute query, & was waiting for us when we arrived. There's one large garage on the ground floor, followed by apartments 1 & 2 on the next floor, and apt 3 on the next level up - we stayed in apt 3, which had great views onto the mountains. The shared terrace is then on the top level. We were the only ones staying in the building, so it was nice & quiet, and we had the terrace to ourselves. The apartment itself was VERY compact indeed, although it did have everything we needed, including a washing machine. It was also very clean, with a nice, modern decor. The bed was very firm, and is quite short, so if you're around 6ft tall, your feet will hang out. There was just about enough hot water for us to both have a very quick shower. One thing to note is that the garbage truck turned up everyday - at 1am - the sound of glass bottles crashing into the truck woke us up without fail. Overall, worth it for the views - unfortunately, we don't speak much Spanish, so we wen't able to chat much to Maria much, but she was very friendly & helpful.

About the Host, Maria Carmen
Hola soy Mari Carmen.
Hi I'm Mari Carmen. Born and raised in Dílar, a village of 900 inhabitants located at 12 km from the city of Granada. Dilar is within the Sierra Nevada National Park, at the foot of the ski run, which bear the same name.
In this wonderful village, lives all my family, here I raised two beautiful children and I enjoy great happiness. Dílar, my town, is the responsible.
Every morning upon awakening, I have the privilege of seeing the Veleta peak and the perpetual snow on the peaks of the Sierra.
My town is authentic, with white houses and narrow streets recalling the Arab world.
From the the Sierra are the water sources, clear and clean as its people.
Dílar is surrounded and immersed in tradition, fields growing vegetables, olives and almonds, a spectacular scenery for the diversity of tones and colors that adorn each of the seasons. The contrasts between rugged and bare mountains and the green of the Granadian’s Vega close to the river Dílar are an idyllic setting for walking in touch with nature.
I invite you to meet me, come and I’ll show you my town and its people.
From the terrace of Mill Girl's Michelle you enjoy this environment, see the city of Granada and admire the sunsets over the Vega.
