We can rent at times, two rooms when they become available.

Our condo is 30 plus years old. A Western California/Asian Architecture style with a lot of green walking areas and with an outdoor swimming pool. Beware, we are always on the go. I hope to see you soon:) Have a great day! I know we will:).We live at the edge of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. (website hidden).
The bus stop is right outside on the main street on Portage Trail.
We also have many places to go eat a walking distance away plus a live indoor theater with great plays!
You will find that you are treated like an adult who wants to enjoy life. Have their own space and adventures in learning, Celebrating life and learning about America. We will help introduce you to the area and events if you need.
A terrific view from the back porch, watching the sunset, and chatting with Steven. This is how my night started. Steven is quite a talker, and he's quick to tell you about all the students that have stayed with him. He's met some really interesting people from all over the world.
The house wasn't the cleanest, but the bedroom was spotless. And the giant tub was nice to soak in. Overall it was a good stay.
Steven couldn't be there the night I arrived, but his housemate was very welcoming and even helped me find a local store. The room and bathroom were clean and inviting. The location was a little tricky to find but Steven's housemate helped when I called.
We are a family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) were were in town to see a concert at Blossom Music Center. We are used to traveling light (hostels, homestays, etc), and we just needed a safe, clean place to crash for the night.
~ Close to Blossom Music Center.
~ Steve volunteered to drive us to Blommom and pick us up after the concert. (A big THANK YOU to Steve!!!!)
~ Clean and safe.
~ Friendly and helpful. (Steve printed out directions of restaurants, etc.)
~ According to this site, breakfast was supposed to be provided but was not. This was a real negative. The four of us spent $50.00 for breakfast, and we would have just went to a hotel if we would have known. "Breakfast" is listed as included.
~ Pricey for a family. We paid $130.00 for the four of us, but again, we thought breakfast was included.
~ No shower only a bathtub, so all had to take "bucket baths".
Now I have to say that Steve certainly made up for the lack of breakfast by providing transportation to and from the concert. This would have cost us at least $15.00 in parking, gas, and hours in time.
Over all, the condo, room, bed, and bathroom were adequate for a night. Steve was the added benefit. A charming man who obviously enjoys hosting. I am not sure this is the best place for families, but smaller groups including foreign students would be well suited.
It was interesting to meet other guests from China, Middle East and from the States. Had my own bedroom, single bed and shared bath. The interior of the house was in process of repair of another bathroom and tools laying about. Comfortable for the price. The house will no longer be available by the end of the month due to Steve is selling it and will rent another house. To bad, the house is 5 minutes from downtown Akron. Steve was accommodating and helpful.
Steven is a nice man, flexible and accommodating. If you need an inexpensive crash pad in Akron and are not too demanding about the facilities or privacy, with the ability to use the kitchen and laundry and to interact with international students, a room in his house will work for you. It also gives you the chance to stay in an urban neighborhood near Highland Square, a somewhat trendy area. It's hard to give the house a definite rating, since it all depends what you're looking for. Best for young people on a budget, I'd say.
Steven's home is a safe, comfortable home away from home. I especially enjoyed getting to know the wonderful, talented, very motivated students who share this home in Akron. I hope to return in the fall!
Steven and Robin were lovely hosts. I admire their choice to open their home to international college students to help them successfully adjust to probably their first foreign home. They make great pseudo "parents"!
I am a father and husband, have 4 adult children and have 8 grandchildren.
I have managed a homestay 6 years now and house many college students wanting to learn English and American culture. We have a lot of fun and take many trips. We socialize through dinner parties and traveling (website hidden) travelers welcomed, when we have the space:)
