with a little luck a local tour in our Traction Avant almost as old as the cottage....
The house is located a block from Cal Tech, two blocks from South Lake shopping District. Less than a mile from the Historic Langham Hotel founded by the Huntingtons. A little over a mile from the Huntington Library in San Marino which is a lovely walk. In the opposite direction about the same distance sit the The Pacific Asia Museum and the Pasadena Museum of California Art. A mile further is the famed Norton Simon Museum with Old Town Pasadena's exciting venues of bars and wonderful restaurants.
The historic Santa Anita Race Track is but a 10 minute drive, and we are 5 blocks from the Rose Parade route on Colorado Blvd. and 3 miles from the Rose Bowl.
If you like hiking, the trails at the top of Lake Avenue will be a delight with spectacular views of Southern California, including Catalina Island.

Several grocery stores (Traders Joe's, Fresh&Easy, Pavilions) are within walking distance (2-3 blocks) as well as a Peet's coffee and a Starbucks. Whole Food is less than 2 miles away.
On South Lake Ave. you will find a number of restaurants and shopping choices.

The house was very conveniently located. Cynthia and Bruno were really good hosts who took really good care of us. Ideal for families temporarily visiting Caltech. Plus: The French car collection and the hen house in the backyard garden
