The cottage is situated mid island at Mile marker 13 on Bogue Banks, Emerald Isle township, the first east/west island located south of Cape Hatteras and the Outer Banks. The cottage was a personal permanent home for many years and has special ambiance that is best described as homey. Summer rentals are booked from Sunday to Sunday. Less than a 7 night stay will be charged a week rental. The neighborhood is strictly residential and there are 2 beach accesses in close proximity to the ocean.

The space

The cottage is unique in that it is one of the few double lots left on the island. That means there is ample parking, landscape and additional privacy that allowed by a residential neighborhood and Ocean Drive for walking and bike riding. In fact, there is a new bike path that runs for miles into the town of Emerald Isle.

Guest access

While the cottage is listed as a duplex, the second residence is a garage efficiency apartment that is rented long term. The mail cottage is full footage as appears in the posting. Two bedrooms and two master baths.

There's no more beautiful location to have a beach vacation then Emerald Isle. This house has great beach access. If you don't want to spend the money to be right on the beach this house is good for you. With that said, personally I wouldn't rent this house again. It had a musky/mildew smell . The kitchen was not good for us. The dishwasher wasn't working properly and the pots and pans were in bad shape. The inside of the cabinets were old and smelly too. We cook a lot to save money so I wish I brought a few of my own pots and pans. The house is fine if you're low maintenance/ low budget. But if you're a little more picky you may want to find a more updated and cleaner house. If all you care about is going to the beach and having somewhere to rest your head at night then this house is good for you. The host was very nice and a great communicator.

Location is wonderful, very close to beach access, much closer than I imagined. The ocean view is beautiful from the deck and from master bedroom. Enjoyed coffee from the deck every morning. The stars are vibrant in the evening sky. It was great that beach chairs are provided and the outdoor shower was nice to rinse sandy feet. Residential area, beach was never crowded. Sunsets from the sound were breathtaking. My son was glad to have wifi. Fully stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. Enjoyable time and would recommend to others!

Great spot for a beach weekend. It's a bit small for 4 adults but was a great time overall. Tootie was very helpful and great at communicating. The beach is beautiful!!

Hannah, for some reason I am just now seeing your review. Thank you for taking the time. I wanted to note you. You referred to Tootie in your comments. Tootie was my Mother's nickname and she has been deceased for 12 years. It was her permanent home for years. I liked your comment though as I felt she must have been communicating with you! My name is Delia.

We had a great week here. The proximity to the beach was awesome and that was what we were looking for. Only the houses on the block used that section of the beach which made it uncrowded and the house that much better of a location. Delia was very helpful when we chatted about things to do and general tips for the area. It is a very cute 2 bedroom place and was the perfect size for us. Would definitely stay here again in the future!

Really enjoyed our stay!! The house has a lovely feel to it and location is exactly as described. We loved the location in mid island!! And the secluded feel. The view is great from the deck and the walk easy to the beach. We would definitely stay at Delia's place again! Thank you for having us and sharing your family home with us!

This is a wonderful stay for a small family. Beach access, a small town feel, centrally located to commerce. The house is well appointed and has all the comforts of home. Delia was always in communications and made sure we had all our needs met. A wonderful experience.

This is a grounding for the Aquarius Age which is here now and feminine energy. Women emerging as leaders will be much in demand with the Shifts happening with weather (climate change), energy (solar, etc.) and humanity in general. We are all part of the New Time that is requiring us to unite and live as community. Our Emerald Isle home is on a sacred island. There is a labyrinth within 10 minutes at the St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal church. There is much history with the Roosevelt reserve, Shackelford Island horses, Beaufort on the Inter-coastal waterway and Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge.
