About this listing
15 minutes from town, yet a very quiet bush setting. Your bed is super comfy and you can cook in my ample kitchen. Relax on the deck by the pool and enjoy the bush/city/ocean view.
Hilltop views of the city, ocean and Magnetic Island. Bush surrounds with local wildlife visiting regularly. 15 mins from the city. A nice swimming pool and large relaxing deck. I am a well travelled easy going fun lady and a reasonably decent cook, need tips?
Your linen & towels are supplied, you are welcome to use the kitchen and other areas of my home, of course the fridge & washing machine etc.
There is a country Pub (The Stuart) at the bottom of my hill, they serve good hearty meals and cold beverages, also a bottle shop with a good selection.
Interaction with Guests
I am usually at home to enjoy my guests company and possibly share a meal, if not I will leave some yummy things in the fridge for you.
Smile/laugh a lot, relax and just enjoy.
A drink or 2 is fine, and smoking is OK on my big outside deck, but strictly NO drugs.
Excellent communication from start to finish. The property and accommodation was as described. Pamela was the perfect host. Please stay here with confidence
Pam is a wonderful woman. She is very friendly, caring and we even got breakfast every day. It was very comfortable and we felt very welcome. The location offers a wonderful view and you can see wallabies (and bush turkeys) up close almost every evening and feed them. You have access to a pool, too. I would recommend this to everyone visting Townsville.
We had a wonderful stay in Pam's beautiful and very friendly home. Pam had some friends visiting and they were lovely, friendly and very hospitable. From the welcome beer, we had an offer to join Pam for dinner with her friends. We chose to go out and Pam kindly recommend a local pub for dinner which was very good. On our return we were once again invited to join Pam and her friends on the patio for a nightcap. We also had the added bonus of evening and morning visits from the Rock Wallabies. A lovely breakfast was provided by Pam before our early departure. I would strongly recommend staying with Pam if you are looking for somewhere around Townsville.
Many thanks Pam.

Pamela is one out of the bag! Meaning for OS travellers inc all others from Business to Pleasure (we're from Melbourne, Vic, Aust) this is is a special place (with a pool!) in more ways than one. Spotlessly clean, laid back, great breakfast & filtered coffees & a seriously good queen bed mattress & 4 luxury quality pillows & other pillows- better than we have at home & much better than I have stayed in town!
One bathroom that as easily used around us,.Such a quiet area & amazing hillside views back to the Coast (Magnetic Island) with a fabulous hostess who loves people. There is serious natural wildlife abounding her property (rock wallabies, birds, parrots ) & plenty of room to park your hire car (drive slowly at night so you don't knock out the rock wallabies please!). Stay here near Rosslea et al.!
Pamela's house is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. Pamela (and Laurie) were kind and quietly supportive in my somewhat challenging week of lengthy hospital bedside visits. It was great to have a house to feel at home in, rather than an impersonal motel/hotel room. The resident 'Angel' was a big bonus too.
In short, highly recommended.
Pam was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. We really enjoyed having the fresh breakfast she made at the verandah. Would love to stay with Pam again if we visit next time.
We rather messed Pamela about as our daughter was just about to have twins and we were all a bit fraught. .In the end we did not actually stay but she was very understanding and reimbursed us. Thanks again Pamela.
