IIt's a cozy room, located in the historic center of Bogota, close to universities, libraries, museums, exchange houses, cafes, etc ...
Very near the station transmilenio of Waters, near the Cra7, and 19th Street University of Los Andes, the Colombian American Institute, Gold Museum, International House School etc..
I live in an apartment with two bedrooms and I have a free one (certainly large enough, are like 12mts square).
There are bed (measuring 1.90mt (6'23") long by 0.90mt(2'11") wide, the room have a desk, a chair, a sofa bed and excelent wifi.
And beautifull view!, you can see Monserrate!!
In front of the room there is a store where they usually have parties late, so if noise bothers I recomended you buy ear plugs disposable jejejeej
The bathroom would have to share it with me because the apartment only has one.
I have a pet cat.
You can use the kitchen and laundry if you want
I have unlimited calling in Bogota
You can come and go at any time.
I enjoyed my stay with Lida. Her and Juan Carlos were friendly and let me practice my terrible Spanish with them.
The apartment is in a good area not far from Candaleria. I would recommend staying at Lida's place while visiting Bogota.
Staying with Lida is the best choice you can make in Bogota. Before staying with them I stayed in a five star hotel (company was paying) in parque 93 and if I hadn't stayed with Lida&JC in the old town, I would never know the real Bogota. They showed me some of the best restaurants, thanks to Lida's explanations it was easy and cheap to go to Guatavita and to the laguna; the location is perfect, I returned around 10 pm once and I didn't have any safety issues. They are amazing people as well. With funny stories. If it wasn't for her, I would have never discovered so many of the hidden gems of the city, like the library (I hear you say "meh" but you should see it!) or Sabor where you can eat the best ajiago in town. I saw 2 different Bogota. from the hotel -an international one where my Colombian colleagues preferred to take me to Corral -Colombian version of Mcdonalds- and a second, more beautiful one with Lida. to sum up: it is safe; location is great, after the first time really easy to find; they are helpful with everything; wi-fi functions perfectly; restaurants on the same street are awesome; yes, night time there are noise from the street especially on fridays but I was too tired after walking all day, it never bothered me. If you stay in old town, you will hear people having fun. If you are unable to sleep go out and have a few drinks with them. AND you should ask Lida the wonderful coffee place that only locals know. If I have to choose one moment from this trip, it would be that one, where a barista explained us the coffee seeds and Japanese method of making coffee. (you can go with the french press as well but I discovered that japanese nailed it.) I am not a person who is easy to please and with reviews I believe we all have to be extremely honest since false reviews can put people in danger but really, I can't even think of one bad think to say. Ok, maybe this one, if you turn on the shower too much it gets cold fast. But remember, this is not luxury condo, this is a house. And a safe hotel costs at least 100 usd in Bogota if you don't get a special deal. More importantly the information and tips you get from Juan Carlos and Lida is priceless. (Guatavitatrip cost me les than 20 usd all included, thanks to her tips.) Make your choice accordingly.
I really recommend u this house:-)
They are so kind and funny people. Cuz when I got Bogota first day, they brought me around the city!! And my room that I stayed is so clean, safety and has strong wi-fi. I could spend so comfortable!! Thank u !!
Juan Carlos is a great guy! I felt right at home here.. It's clean, and central.. I highly recommend staying here.
It has been a wonderful experience, being hosted by Lida in her bright and welcoming home. Upon my arrival we went out for a delicious dinner at a very cute place around the corner with two of her close friends. That was really a lot of fun, lovely people!! The private room has a great mountain view, on the city's beautiful cathedral. Lida's neighborhood is interesting, full of history, and is centrally located: A number of interesting eating places and bars; a main shopping street, bus transportation, the Gold and Botero Musea are all at a walking distance. Kitty cat is very polite, giving you ample chance to warm up to her.
I fully recommend this place. It is a very nice place to stay in Bogotá at the historic Center of the city, near restaurants, coffees, shops and gorgeous museums.
Lida is a very kind host always willing to help if you need so, looking for your well being and making you feel at home in a confidence environment.
The neighborhood is pretty and safe.
Just follow Lida's suggestions on this site regarding music after hours.
The apartment is very centrally located with many services at your disposal within walking distance ie restaurants, laundry services, and shopping. Monserratte is nearby if you so decide to travel up the mountain to enjoy a nice view of Bogota. I felt very accomidated during my stay. Lida is a gracious host. She did her best to answer any of my questions as well as to provide the basic necessities for my stay. I highly reccomend Lida if you travel to Bogota.
