A corner of paradise. This large four-bedroom country retreat is ideal for those who love nature, freedom from noise, the rugged beauty of Turkey's Toros mountains and access to the Mediterranean sea. One attraction is our beautiful natural pool. Spring and autumn are gorgeous for climbing or trekking the nearby Lycian Way, summer is sunny and hot. The house is within 25 minutes of three stunning beaches, the ruins of the classical cities and authentic local towns with vibrant markets.

The space
All four bedrooms have beautiful views and comfortable beds. There is a 8mx8m (25'x25') central space that houses the kitchen, sitting room and dining room to eat inside. A wide front terrace and big outdoor dining table overlook the valley. Steps lead down to the (unfenced) natural pool. This property is ideal for a group of up to eight people or two families with older children. It's a great base for climbing or trekking. The approach road is 2km of earth track, usually smooth but best to have a 4x4 car!

Guest access
You will not be sharing the property or pool with anyone except yourselves. The house is in the heart of a sloping two-acre / 8000 sq m garden of olive, orange, apple, and stone oak trees. There is also a small vineyard. A four-wheel drive vehicle can access the house, normal cars can be parked below it. There are terraces, patios, a pool pavilion with cushions and bowers with seating areas under the trees.

For most of the year the natural pool is available for swimming. Sometimes, depending on the availability of water from the village agricultural water supply, the level of water in the pool may dip. We will do our best to make everything right for your stay, but not everything is under our control.

Please note that the house is on a hillside and that the garden can be rough away from the paths and the areas around the house. Normal cars have to be parked 40m below the house. There are dry stone walls, sharp stones and occasional steep inclines. If you have mobility problems, please consult us before booking!

Other things to note
The natural pool is largely built of round river stones, in many places without cement. Please take care to enter and exit the pool only by the clear set of pool steps, do NOT climb the stone walls, and be aware it can be slippery. There are three inter-connected ponds with water circulating between them, but only the lower one is for swimming. The ecological balance is very sensitive to human bodies and suntan oil, so please shower by the steps before going in! Also please note that in the height of summer there may be water shortages and the level may sometimes dip.

This property is for nature lovers and anyone seeking peace! You will be in the countryside. Cocks will crow in the morning, frogs will croak from the pool by day and you may even spot the tracks from the night-time wanderings of wild boar on the canal road below. Noise carries far, especially at night, so please, no amplified music or loud outside parties.

Nature is everywhere with vibrantly clean air, wild flowers in spring and grand thunderstorms in winter. Like everywhere on the south coast, there are also the occasional scorpions, snakes and other animals: butterflies, wild boar, land crabs, tortoises, sheep, turtles, bats, cicadas, field mice, dragonflies, outsize grasshoppers, spiders, hawks, flocks of chickens, swallows over the pool and even the occasional stray cat or dog. Most are harmless. If you take care and treat the environment with the respect it deserves, you'll have a wonderful time!

Olympos is a unique place, even for Turkey. You're within five km of the haunting ruins of ancient Olympos, a premier city of the Lycian League that inspired the U.S. constitution's state-based system. Cirali and Adrasan - two of the prettiest and most unspoiled beaches in the whole of Turkey - are 20-25 minutes away by car. They have several good restaurants. The back-packers' treehouse paradise at the gates of Olympos has many live-music night events. Easy day trips include visits to the ruins of Olympos and ancient Phaselis, cable car rides up to the 2,400m peak of Mt Olympos, lunch and river swimming in the cool Kemer gorge, night-time walks up to the natural, everlasting flames of Chimaera on the flanks of the mountain above Cirali beach, and inexpensive day-long expeditions in private charter boats where the captain will cook you fish for lunch in one of several charming bays where you stop to swim.
