My girlfriend and I were very happy to book a place near Playa Guiones as we had plans to surf the lovely beaches of Nosara. The grounds of Bella Vista Mar were beautiful - a lot of open space, a large clean pool, outdoor hangout space with plenty of yoga mats and towels provided free of charge, and an awesome view of the ocean. Our room was also great, with an ocean view, a comfortable bed, and a large clean bathroom with hot water. We also greatly appreciated the complimentary breakfast each morning, which was hearty and delicious!
We enjoyed our overall stay in the area but feel that we must comment on our particular experience. We didn't feel very welcomed into the space. Alexa was very responsive prior to our arrival via email. However, when we arrived, we would have appreciated an orientation to the place, including a quick tour, hours that we may use the kitchen, general house rules, etc. It was very very quiet and felt a bit stifled, not the most cheerful vibe, and a vibe that felt different to us than the rest of Nosara and the other areas we stayed in Costa Rica. I supposed we may have wrongfully assumed by the pictures that there would be many others staying here and that it would be much more communal and a great place to meet other travelers. Also, we thought there would be a washer/dryer for us to use on site; however, when we asked about this, we were informed that laundry could be done for us for $10 per load, which seems very pricey especially considering that other AirBnbs we have used offer laundry for free or for a much more reasonable price. Important to note is that Alexa's place is easiest to access with a 4x4 rental car and is a 10 minute drive from city center and not easily walkable.
Although there are things that we feel can certainly be improved upon, we enjoyed the little bit of time we spent on the grounds and took advantage of the heated pool, yoga mats, and amazing view. There are a lot of fun things to do in the area, like surf, enjoy the beach, and do yoga.
Great place. Stunning view on the ocean. The room was clean and with all commodities. Highly reccomanded though a bit hidden but easy to find.
Alexa was a great host. As I was driving up to the Bella Vista, I was a bit unsure what awaited, but as she says, it's worth the drive and the view. It was wonderful to arrive to the beautiful location and the hospitality. I was traveling by myself with 2 kids and Alexa was available via email weeks prior, giving me advice, mentioning places to go and making me feel comfortable on this trip. The place it self is beautiful. After a great home made breakfast, we often played in the pool before heading out to the beaches, or came back and played in the pool after a day exploring. There are yoga mats and great spaces to just meditate and unwind. You feel close to the beach and above and way from it as well. It's great to have kitchen access as well to cook our own dinner or make a packed lunch for the day. I highly recommend staying. We can't wait to come back.
We just stayed in this amazing Lovely paradise for 2 days. Our two kids loved the place: the pool (absolutly amazing)the poolhouse, the dog, cats, monkeys in the trees. We as adults couldn't get enough of the view and the whole enviroment around the pool and kitchen. And the Room offcourse. Just everything.
We are traveling for some months in Costa rica so for us it was perfect to have the possibility to make food in the kitchen instead of going out. So we never visited any restaurants... Thanks..
I used my stay at Bella Vista Mar primarily as a private retreat, and Alexa did a great deal to support that. She communicated well; helped me find transportation; and offered friendly conversation when appropriate, while otherwise allowing me to relax in my own.
Highlights included a) that fabulous pool! b) views from my room, and c) yummy breakfast overlooking the dramatic Pacific coastline. I'd return in a heartbeat, though I might rent an ATV to better navigate the area. Thank you, Alexa, for helping provide R & R that I desperately needed!
Bella Vista Mar was a beautiful little retreat in Nosara and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Alexa and her staff were extremely accommodating and the vibe of her place made us feel relaxed and at ease. It's the perfect place to enjoy a quiet and peaceful few days. Playa Nosara was a short walk from the house and Play Guiones was a manageable 30 minute walk further, which we enjoyed doing, especially at sunset or to grab lunch in town. Alexa has an on-site Yoga instructor so we were able to schedule two different sessions at our convenience. Alexa also provides breakfast every morning, and has snacks and drinks available for purchase, which came in handy when we didn't want to walk or drive into town. I would highly recommend - we will be back!
