Separate & Private Airstream in quiet beautiful Mill Valley. Completely redone immaculate 1969 Airstream, retro décor, all new, Cable, wi-fi. Minutes from San Francisco, wine country, beaches, hiking, golf, Muir Woods, golf, and great restaurants.
We added our "aluminum guest house" to our back yard with a 100 foot tall crane- up and over our 2 story house. We spent a year gutting it to the bare aluminum shell and then rebuilding it. Everyone pitched in, it was a 3 generation family project that turned out exactly as we envisioned it: A clean new modern space inside the iconic mid century Airstream silver bullet shape. It turns out to have very good fung shui and creates a peaceful, cozy feeling. We call it "The Haven." People always smile the moment they see it, and take pictures when they leave.
Our 1969 Airstream International is outfitted with guests in mind. Our back yard is quiet, green and private; with a beautiful deck, a bbq, tables and chairs. Inside is plenty of headroom, clean modern amenities, new plumbing, delightful 1969 Vintage décor. Designed to be a totally a comfortable space for travelers and visitors, we use spa-quality products for the full size shower, and the bedroom has a dream catcher, 2 reading lamps and 1000 thread count sheets on the exceptionally comfortable queen size bed. Guests have wi fi and Premium cable TV to enjoy, a universal cell phone charger and a lava lamp.
The kitchen is well equipped and all appliances are brand new and Retro Red. The dishes are vintage California pottery, and there are books about Airstream history. We leave a first morning breakfast for you, tea and Peet’s Coffee. There’s a folder with information about trails and nearby attractions as well as menus from many excellent restaurants in our area, delivered if you want to stay in cuddled up beside the “fireplace” (heater). Our “Haven” doesn’t travel any more but the unique Airstream experience here makes people happy. It is a perfect get away for celebration and romance, for rest or attending an event in the area, writing, reading, escaping, visiting family nearby.

Staying in an Airstream camper was a dream come true. I've always wanted to experience it. Bucket list checked! What hotel or AirB&B guest room can compare to staying in a fully renovated, mid century Airstream Camper?! It was gorgeous! Marsha and Floyd were super kind, very welcoming, and considered every detail of my stay from welcome to goodbye. They're amazing people, and the location is divine. The list description was entirely accurate to the letter. The neighborhood was quiet, safe, and beautiful. It's Mill Valley! I felt very safe and comfortable, and never slept better. Even at 6'4" I was able to move about the camper with no problems. It has WiFi, cable TV, a functional kitchenette, and a small bathroom, but bigger than I expected for a camper. It was really great!
What a score! The place was perfect. So private, clean, quiet and not far from San Fran. In morning to ride to this side of Golden Gate Bridge which has an amazing view then drove Point Bonita. I would highly recommend this place. Even left some wonderful fruit, water, muffins and yogurt - so sweet. My first time using Airbnb and it was unbelievable!!!!
I love this place!!! I was so excited that my work travels brought me back to Marin, so I could spend another two nights in "my" Airstream. As I said the first time, the Heckmans have really thought of everything. It's cozy and charming and completely unique; the epitome of what a great airbnb experience should be. Floyd and Marsha were super flexible and accommodating with my schedule, and gave me privacy while always being available. Floyd stopped by because he was concerned that I wouldn't know how to work the heater and it was chilly. (I had figured it out, and it made the living area quite toasty.) Marsha had left me a sweet note and flowers and breakfast in the fridge. I brag about finding this place to everyone I know, but I should probably stop, because it might get too popular and I won't be able to book again!
My husband and I were looking for a staycation in the Bay, and we decided to do some hiking and stay somewhere close by...and the Airstream fit the bill! We loved staying there! It's a cozy, comfortable space tucked in a quiet neighborhood off Highway 1, and it was a lovely place to relax in between hikes in Muir Woods...which is only 10-15 minutes away! Marsha's personal touches - from the decor to the yogurt, berries, and coffee in the morning - made the Airstream a fun and memorable place to stay. We'll be back when we need another staycation, and we'll certainly recommend this space to friends that come to visit!
My girlfriend and I decided to use airbnb for the first time on our trip to California, and the experience was great. The Heckmans were extremly welcoming and helpful. Their Airstream was perfect! I highly recommend this place.
We loved staying at the air stream! They did a wonderful job remodeling the space. Everything was top quality. They were super kind and left us breakfast and fresh towels. Thank you so much.
Note: they told us this, but you should allow time for the water to heat up if you want to take a second shower. Wifi and TV worked great, cell coverage is low inside--probably because you are in a steel cylinder :)
This was the most memorable places we have ever had the chance to stay in, and the attention to detail was impeccable. In fact it would match any top hotel chain. Marsha and Floyd where both welcoming and sweet, and the area was stunning.
Thank you, we would happily stay with you again!
