The Mermaid guest suite is in a separate wing of the house and consists of bedroom with king size opium bed living room with sofa that can be opened up into a queen sized bed. (There is a small extra charge if you have more than two guests in your party.) The suite overlooks the ocean and harbor with mountain foothills in the background. The king sized bed is handmade from an antique opium bed, but with the modern comfort of a Chattam & Wells pillow top mattress. (We understand the importance of a good night's sleep!) Just through the sliding glass doors of your living room is a large deck with hot tub overlooking the ocean. We have a private acre lot so bathing suits are optional! Here you can relax and watch the moon glistening on the waves, the fishing boats arriving and departing, or the fog creeping down the mountains. Observant guests may see osprey, otters, harbor seals, sea lions, whales, or even the occasional mermaid.
You are welcome to use our large front room, joining us in lively conversation or reading a book and sipping on a glass of Oregon wine. For the music lover we have a baby grand piano for you to play while we form an appreciative audience.

John, Nancy, and Arnie were the perfect hosts. From the moment we arrived and shared a glass of wine, they were very welcoming. Their home and view of the bay are incredible, the Airbnb site is accurate in pictures and descriptions. As incredible as the surroundings are, the best part was our personal interactions with our hosts. I hope to get back next year, and would definitely recommend the Mermaid Suite to other travelers.
We had a wonderful stay with John and Nancy when road tripping from San Diego to Seattle. We arrived late and were still greeted with a bottle of wine and the hot tub ready and waiting. After a wonderful nights sleep in the incredibly comfortable bed we returned to the hot tub and were able to enjoy the beautiful views of the harbour and Ocean. This is a beautiful spot and they were very attentive and friendly hosts-we would love to return one day!
John and Nacy's home was very quiet and comfortable. We could not have found a better location! The room was just as comfortable as it was beautiful and a full breakfast was provided in the morning.
John and Nancy were fantastic hosts, and the room overlooking the hottub and ocean was very comfortable. We were on a motorcycle trip along the coast, and we were even able to park the bikes inside! They pointed us toward Superfly, a great place to eat just down the street (5 minutes walk), that also happens to be a distillery. The hottub made a great place to unwind after a long day, and the view was just incredible. Stay with them, you'll have a great time!
We arrived late after a long day of driving and were so happy to have a big, comfortable bed to crash in. When we were feeling more social in the morning, we had a great conversation with John over breakfast. We really enjoyed the hot tub with the ocean breeze and view. The location is convenient, there are restaurants and stores within walking distance or at most a 5 minute drive. The space is larger than it seems in pictures, and does feel quite private as it is a the side of the house. John and Nancy were wonderful hosts and we would recommend their home to anyone visiting the southern Oregon coast.
I asked about coming with my three young girls and John and Nancy were very accommodating and welcoming. The view of the ocean was the best and just what we were looking for.
