Interaction with Guests
We like to welcome our guests on their arrival to show them the place and give them information about our place, but we try to give our guests as much space as they want. We are more than happy to answer any questions you have and welcome you to contact us if you have any concerns.
Our neighborhood is a country setting with most properties in the area being between 2-6 acres in size. The road down from the highway is a slow country road that sees our neighbors walking their dogs, riding horses, doing exercise walks, and kids learning to ride their bicycles. From Highway to the bay, the road is about 1 mile long, and our farm is located about halfway to the bay.
Maui's North Shore is a rugged shore with breath taking views. The coastline is a mix of cliffs and rocky shores. Pilale (sweetheart) Bay is about 1/2 mile from our property. Many people like to sit at the top and enjoy the panoramic views and exceptionally clear water of the bay. Some of our adventurous guests enjoy hiking down the path to the secluded shore.
Our location is 5 miles away from the World Famous Big Wave surf spot "Jaws." And 8 miles away from one of the World's Best Windsurfing beaches, Ho`okipa Beach Park. We are also about 7 miles away from the quaint country town of Haiku that has several great restaurants and small shops.
There is no public transit that comes out this far, so a rental car is highly recommended.
Other Things to Note
Close enough for a short day drive to the south side of the island to visit the "tourist" beaches, but you can still get back to the country to get out of the hustle and bustle and get back to the natural and beautiful version of Hawaii.
Our property is non smoking.
We ask that our guests be respectful of our land and to not make lots of crazy loud noises late at night.
When we arrived at Jeremiah's house, everything is ready. His Mom, Mary picked fresh eggs for us. Mary is such sweet host and she told me where should we see and where to eat. We have never been Maui before. Her instructions made a big difference for us to look around this beautiful Island. We had a very good time to stay at Jeremiah's place.
Very nice and cozy place. My mom and I enjoyed staying. We didn't meet Jeremiah, but we did meet his mom, Mary. She was very accommodating and helpful.
We were greeted by Mary, Jeremiah's mother, who was lovely and a great source of advice about activities and restaurants on the north side of the island. The property is a little out of the way, very much a 'country getaway' but also close enough to Paia that we got to explore the restaurants there easily. The location is ideally situated for those who'd like to explore the Road to Hana. The property, itself, is very comfortable and the deck has amazing views of the verdant coastline. The sound of the rain on the palm trees at night, alone, made me thankful we had chosen this AirBnB location for our Maui lodging! Also, definitely check out the rocky cove beach down the hill!
We had a most wonderful stay at Jeremiah's Maui North Shore property. We got a warm welcome by the host/hostess, with very useful tips/information on how to enjoy our Maui stay, including such as how to do the Road to Hana trip most enjoyably. All the features were as what he advertised or better. This is my very first Airbnb experience and it convincingly makes me value the service offered by Abnb. The only minor point is that the door knob of the bathroom is a little tricky to open when one finishes shower, as you need to turn it left (instead of instinctively turns it right, or clockwise). The two bedrooms with three beds were perfect for our family of four. We had the whole 2nd floor completely to ourselves that has a wonderful view of the surroundings including the free roaming cows in a far away pasture on the north shore, and a little bit of the north shore ocean view. The impressive rubber tree is healthy and nice looking, except that it shields a good portion of the valley view from us.
The checkout process was also very pleasant and easy. We were pleasantly surprised by the multiple fruits provided to us, and the fresh eggs in the refrigerator. My guess is that January is among the best time to visit as the temperature is so pleasant that is basically perfect. One night we saw the most clear sky full of bright stars, and from my bed I saw Antares of the Scorpius Constellation brightly flickering, amazing sight. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the future.
It was a pleasure to have you stay with us. Thank you for bringing the door knob issue to our attention. The door knob can be turned either direction. We had just had a new knob installed, so after your review we examined it and found out that the person who installed it didn't tighten it up correctly, which only allowed it to unlatch in the one direction. We have secured this properly now and have tested it multiple times. Once again, thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We really enjoyed our stay here on the 2nd floor of the guesthouse. It was fully furnished and comfortably slept four. It's in a very quiet location, clean, and has a wonderful view of lush tropical vegetation and easy access to up-country Maui, the Hana highway and north shore. If you're looking for something away from the beaches, this is a great spot.
Jeremiah's place is as described, comfortably fits four adults, with fully equipped kitchen and bathing essentials. The farm is a relaxing place to walk around and has a short trail to the shore with a wonderful view. It's also close to the Hana Hwy, and the only shortcoming about the location is that it takes quite a bit of drive to do grocery shopping so be prepared!
We had a nice stay at this place and would recommend it to people who want to stay at a less crowded location on the island.
