About this listing
Right on the ocean in the heart of South Beach!
Our little seaside apartment on Ocean Dr, at 3rd St is in the midst of Miami's famed Art Deco District. It is in an absolutely ideal location in the trendy South of Fifth (SoFi) area.
Unlike most accommodations in South Beach, our apartment is directly on world famous Ocean Drive AND the Beach!!
It is just a block's walk to the nightlife, shopping and restaurants of South Beach on Ocean Drive, but without the noise or the traffic. We are so fortunate (and you will be too!:) to be located on the ocean side of Ocean Drive. You can casually walk out of the building, past the pool and be right on the beach - which is quite a rarity in SoBe! You needn't even wear shoes, though we do recommend flip-flops if the sand is hot!
Note: The hallways were recently painted and new carpets installed, but there is still construction taking place at the front of the building, typically on weekdays from 8-5. There are also construction materials stored at the back of the building. Please be aware that due to the renovation there may be scaffolding, dust and construction activity in some parts of the building while you are here.
The front door may be closed for construction in January or February in which case access will be through the side doors. Beach access will not be affected.
We have for these reasons kept our rates reduced, we just don't want anyone to be surprised! Most people find the value at our place to be well worth it!
Interaction with Guests
We are always available by phone and email.
The swimming is marvelous, as the sandy beach has a gentle slope, with crystal clear water, that is luxuriously warm and soothing! During a good share of the year you can swim for hours without even getting a chill. It's wonderful to go for a swim a couple of hours before sunset, and then paddle around as you watch the spectacular play of ever-changing colors dappling the waves as the sun dips below the horizon.
There are terrific restaurants, clubs, and bars here, as well as wonderful designer shopping, and you'll be staying in the historic Art Deco District, in a secured and authentic Art Deco building. You are virtually next-door to the lovely and entertaining Lummus and South Pointe parks, as well as the world-famous and extremely cool Nikki Beach Club!
Buses are everywhere, as well as taxis and even a free South Beach shuttle.

Do not ever place pool fob in the lockbox, they can be lost this way.
I'm a South Beach local of 20 years.
I love it here and I'm happy to be able to help others experience my paradise!
I'm a total music fanatic, eclectic taste ranging from Dire Straits to Killing Joke, lately some Florence and the Machine, M83 and other "underground mainstream" (if there is such a thing)
Like to play drums and design sounds when I can, mostly Industrial.
Reading Stoic Philosopher Seneca lately (you should check him out!), and the bible always.
Love watching a good foreign film (even a mediocre foreign film for that matter, over a domestic one).
Favorites include "Kontroll" (Hungary), "Dogs Will" (Brazil) "City of Men" and "City of God" (definitely Brazil) "Bibliotheque Pascal" (Hungary)(I'm beginning to notice a pattern here)
When I get my own act together enough I want to operate an orphanage in an appropriate third world city to give some kids a chance at a nice life.
Trying my best to live spiritually while keeping one foot in the material world.
Restore motorcycles for fun and ride a Ducati Monster pretty much every day.
Novice videographer with large aspirations, barriers to entry just disintegrated!
Not in it for the money, so I can't go wrong.
I enjoy visiting the Caribbean and South America to keep things in perspective. Helps one realize how much we have while also reminding how little it takes for people to be happy.
My life motto would be "What's Next?"
