Located near the convention center and the city bus hub at the Ala Moana Mall, it has convenient access to shops, live entertainment, and restaurants just 5 to 10 minutes walk on Kalakaua Avenue (Waikiki Beach Walk, Royal Hawaiian Center, Hard Rock Café, Duke's Waikiki, etc…).
This sunny, cozy, recently remodeled condominium studio is on a high floor in the Hawaiian Monarch, with gorgeous view of the city, mountain, ocean & surf. This Non-smoking private studio has two twin size beds (and an optional twin size air mattress) with its own entrance, bathroom & shower.

Excellent skyline view and location! You are close to the beach. Watch outrigger paddlers rowing on the Ala Wai Canal and checkout the waves before heading out for a surf session, this is a central location to plan out your day. Walking distance to Ala Moana Mall and the Convention Center. Surfing and Waikiki Beach are all within a 10 minute walk. Waikiki Fireworks every Friday at the Hilton Hawaii Lagoon. Biking distance to Diamond Head hike & lookout, Manoa Falls, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Hawaii Nature Center and more...
Access to transportation is convieniently located. Smart Car, motorcycle, bicycle, scooter rental is available in the lobby, including tour bus pickups. Door-to-door airport shuttle drop-off/pickup from lobby. Taxi to HNL Airport 20 minutes. TheBus city bus route 19/20 to Airport. Parking in the building is $20/24 hours, cash only.
Other Things to Note
Checkin is 3pm and checkout is 11am. You may request an early checkin or late checkout, approval based on availability, see house rules for extended stay rates.
TAX & FEES INDLUDED: All bookings are subject to 9.25% Hawaii Hotel Tax and 4.712% Hawaii General Excise Tax. It's included with this reservation, while other hosts may charge you extra tax and cleaning fees.
IDENTIFICATION: For your security, guest is required to present a government-issued photo ID and the reservation confirmation during checkin before keys are provided.
HOUSEKEEPING: There is no daily housekeeping service as it is privately managed. Upon checkout please clean and dry your dishes and take your trash out to the trash room, there is one on every floor.
LINENS & LAUNDRY: We strive to provide plush linens and towels that are clean and white with no stains. Oddly enough this is really hard to do. Please don't use our towels to remove your make-up. If you need disposable towels, please let us know, some will be provided. A replacement fee will be charged for stained towels (e.g. hair dyes, bleaches, make up, dirt, or greasy burnt saucepans). Please bring your own beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the units.
LATE CHECKOUT: Checkout between 11am and 5pm: 50% of the daily rental rate. Checkout beyond 5pm: 100% of the daily rental rate.
FUNCTIONS: Parties and Functions are strictly prohibited. The price charged is for domestic use only and not commercial. Accordingly this rate does not allow for the extra wear associated with functions in terms of cleaning, garbage removal, wear and tear, repairs etc.
NOISE: Please keep noise to a minimum between 10PM and 8AM.
GUESTS: No strangers staying the night.
SMOKING: No smoking. No drugs.
PETS: No pets allowed in or on the property.
BIKES: The building rules does not allow bikes to be taken up the elevators, however bike in travel case is allowed. There are city bike racks near by.
LOST KEY & LOCKOUT: Please return all keys promptly upon checkout. $30 will be deducted from your security deposit for each lost key. Please call to arrange a time to give you a new key.
DEPOSIT: The property should be left in a similar state to its condition on arrival. Deposit is fully refundable, however it may be deducted for excessive mess or repair/replacement for damages to the room or its contents.
RESPONSIBILITY DISCLAIMER: Property owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The guest is responsible for safe-keeping of personal belongings or valuables. Damage, breakages, theft and loss are the tenants responsibility during their stay. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises.
Norman was a great host and really made us welcome. He was easy to communicate with and was accommodating when we needed to check out a little later than originally requested. The apartment was perfect for our 9 night stay and the kitchen allowed us to save money by not needing to go out to buy breakfast every morning. The location was really useful too, walking distance to the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and then only a 15-20 minute walk around the corner to the huge Ala Moana shopping centre (bonus!). We'd recommend the beach at Magic Island as well (not an island but a beach on the peninsula across from Ala Moana). This beach was completely empty during the week and had great safe swimming (better than the busy Waikiki beaches, especially if you don't want waves). I have to admit, the lobby to the building isn't the most fancy of places, but we always felt safe, and I'd rather save pennies for spending in Hawaii than on an over priced hotel elsewhere. Also, Norman provided bottled water, soft drink and beer in the fridge that you could buy at really reasonable prices, very convenient and thoughtful. Overall, a clean, tidy, and very functional little place. Thanks for having us to stay!
The studio apt was as described in the listing. The apt was clean, nice view (see the mountain, Diamond Head, and parts of the beach), and good location. The building is a 10-15 min walk to the Waikiki beach, near plenty of bus stops, and walking distance to restaurants. The entrance to the building is a little shady especially in the evening/night, but there is 24 hr security at the lobby. Norman, the host, I met briefly a couple of times and he seemed friendly. Did not see him during check-in/out, but there were no problems with either of those processes. Overall, I had a good experience.
My dad and I stayed for a long weekend in Waikiki. Norman was unable to meet us at check in but we were able to get the key without issues. Norman was incredibly helpful and recommended some activities to do and food to try around the area that were awesome! The space was just as advertised and in a great location for everything Waikiki and venturing around. Would definitely recommend to friends.
At first Norman was a very kind and reliable host.
I stayed and much enjoyed this room for 8days with my wife. The room is clean, and has very nice view and fast Wi-Fi.
In addition, The place is within easy walking distance both Waikiki beach and Alamoana center, and has many useful facilities even a car rental place with Japanese-speaking staffs.
When I go to Waikiki next time , I'l lrequest to stay at this room.
Norm was a friendly, helpful host. The location was good as was the view. The building is a bit run down and I believe it will receive a needed renovation in the next year. I thought the unit was overpriced as the unit is in need of updates, the bathroom and the beds are really substandard.
Sorry to hear that the building was not up to your standard or what you are used to... I had many great reviews from other guests and it is nowhere being described as a sub-par. It would've been great if you had told me so before booking, first day you arrived, or sometime during your trip so other arrangements could be made. The room and the building are as pictured and is very reasonably priced for its prime location, view, and amenities; and you did choose to travel during peak of the holiday season.
I rented the apartment for 11 nights with a friend. It is a beautiful place to stay in Waikiki as it offers an amazing view over Waikiki itself and the Ocean.
Norman is a cool guy! He took us out sailing with his friends and also showed us some hidden places of the Island.
We had a great time and will definitely come back one day.
