The location of “The Buckhorn” is perfect. It is in close proximity to I-66 for quick access to DC events. Also, easy access to I-81. Located just a few short miles from a many great wineries, historic Winchester, VA, George Washington’s Headquarter, Historic Front Royal, the Belle Grove Plantation, Cedar Creek Battlefield, the Strasburg Emporium, the Patsy Kline House, the north entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway (Skyline Drive), hiking, rock climbing, rafting or canoeing the Shenandoah River, Skyline and Luray Caverns. All of this, plus more, are in the area.

The name “Buckhorn” was given many years ago when a family who lived in the Washington, DC area owned the property and would come to enjoy weekends with no frills in the country on on this one-hundred sixty five acre property. In the later years, this family of hunters and their friends would use this old, deteriorated, cold and vacant farmhouse during hunting season to hunt deer in the fall and early winter. All desired to catch that perfect buck.

In 2017, the new owners purchased this property realizing it had great potential as a guest house for those who desired to enjoy a country setting with all the modern conveniences like AC, heat, baths and running water. Also, enjoy the nature, wineries and all that the history of the Shenandoah Valley has to offer. Therefore, this late 1800’s farmhouse has been totally and beautifully restored with three modern baths, kitchen with stainless steel gas range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and granite countertops. This guest house is tastefully decorated throughout. However, you still get the vibe of the late 1800’s with modern conveniences. You can relax on the front porch, the double deck side porches or the back porch. Sit under the shade in the beautiful landscaped yard. Just relax!

There are three bedrooms, (king, queen and two twin beds). A sitting room with a see-through gas fireplace looking in the eating area.
