About this listing
Our old Victorian house is about 100sqm.
It has lots of character and is a very warm and comfortable place. In it you will find lots of things from many travels..
You will have the use of one en-suite bedroom with a huge lovely bed. The bathroom has a shower and a bath.
The lounge and a study are open plan and airy, eventually leading into the spacious cosy farmhouse kitchen. From there you get out onto a patio with a comfortable bench to lie on and a hammock and then into a very green tranquil garden.
There is a tree house in the Garden (an excellent place for morning mediation!) Enjoy a hot outside shower in the garden..
The second bedroom we keep locked.
The house is located in the vibey, villagy part of Cape Town, called Observatory. Many cafe's, bars, restaurants and shops are in walking distance. The drive into Cape Town city centre is about 8 minutes, to the beaches it is about 20 minutes. There is wifi in the house as well as a TV.
We love welcoming travellers as travelling is our passion and a big part of what we do.

We look forward to welcoming you!!
Observatory is like a village. You can walk to all facilities and there is a nice vibe in the village. Students and families equally in this special place. Lots of sidewalk coffee shops and restaurants invite to linger..
Just a minute away are mini taxis which can be taken to town or the train station is only 5 minutes away
No smoking in the house
Please respect our beautiful space
Please replace anything you take or break
If the plants are thirsty we would aprriciate if you water them : )
Parking is easy in front of the house on the road
We want you to experience Cape Town in a wonderful and authentic way
From the moment of my first contact with Claudia via email right up until checking out on my last day, this little gem on Trill Road in Observatory was an absolute dream. The house speaks for itself in the attention to design and everything is curated with integrity. The garden is an oasis, the home warm and comfortable and the community of observatory is a true reflection of South Africa's rainbow nation. You have everything you need from city life to nature, restaurants to fabric shops and museums and not to mention all the characters you come across that make up the beautiful city of Cape Town. This is a home away from home and there is a lot of love to be felt inside.
Claudia and Richard we're perfect hosts and we had a wonderful stay in lovely place in the not so touristy part of Cape Town. The house was nice, clean and very relaxing. Our little oasis in the city for 1 month.
The neighborhood is perfect with lots of bars and restaurants (Sushi!!!) and a really cool atmosphere. We would definitely come back!
We stayed in the house for 1 week, 1 couple and 2 dogs. The space and the garden was great and the location was convenient - there is a dog park just down the street! Restaurants and shopping nearby, easy to park on the quiet road, yet still close to the main road. Claudia's parents checked us in and out and all went well incl. communication with Claudia. We were happy that they were able to accommodate the four of us on such short notice.
I spend an amazing month at Claudia and Richard lovely house.
The pictures says it all.
The house is very beautiful, peaceful, light, secure, it has a very good energy, I felt at home...the garden is gorgeous, an oasis to relax, do yoga, meditation, sunbathing, perfect for eating outdoors or just enjoy the hammock. Great wifi!
The neighborhood is friendly and vibrant with plenty of shops and restaurants coffee places, you have everything you need around.
I was not driving and from there it was super easy to go around, by foot, with taxi and the train that is super close and take you to center town and to False bay.
A perfect place to explore Cape Town.
Communication with Claudia was easy and pleasant and before leaving they showed me how everything worked and gave me plenty of info about the neighborhood.
The neighbors are lovely and helpful.
Because of the lovely house I enjoy even more Cape Town, it was great to come back to the house after a day of exploring,
I will for sure go back to the Light and Fun house next time I'll go to Cape Town,
Thank you Claudia and Richard!
We had a fantastic stay at Claudia's lovely house in Cape Town. We got a very warm welcome from the parents and we really felt at home. The house is beautiful, tastefully furnished and peaceful. The garden is lovely, specially for breakfast. Lots of free parking space in front of the house, very good restaurants in the neighborhood, shops nearby and very friendly neighbors.
We stayed only for one week but wish we could have stayed much longer!
I highly recommend staying there! We loved it.
Claudia and Richard's home in truly an oasis. I enjoyed my time in their home as much as I enjoyed my time wandering around in Cape Town. It was so nice to go back to their home at the end of the day and feel comfortable and at home. I loved their style and I think every day I noticed a new charming detail. I enjoyed working in the study and the wi-fi was very convenient. The backyard is lush and gorgeous; perfect for eating outdoors, yoga, or sunbathing.
The home is in a lively neighborhood only a block from a strip of cafes, restaurants, shops, and bars. There are two major grocery stores nearby and a post office. I rented a car for part of the time I was there and had no problem with parking right in front of the house. The rest of the time I took the train from the nearby station, mini-taxis on Main Road, or taxis.
Communication with Claudia was easy, as was check-in and check-out (I also got to meet her charming parents!). Also, her neighbors are lovely, helpful people.
I very much recommend this home to anyone visiting Cape Town.
We had a fantastic stay at Claudia's lovely house in Cape Town. Claudia was extremely efficient when we were organising the booking and very helpful once we had arrived. The house is in a lively neighbourhood with lots of interesting places to eat and drink, an awesome Saturday morning food market nearby and not far from attractions in the southern suburbs such as the botanical gardens. We were made to feel very welcome by Claudia's parents and the friendly neighbours. It was in a perfect location for our work at the hospital and very easy to access the rest of Cape Town.
The house itself is beautiful, the pictures posted here almost don't do it justice. It is very comfortable, secure, spacious and stylish. The garden is beautiful in the morning sunshine. We stayed for a month but wish we could have stayed much longer!
