Our old Victorian house is about 100sqm.
It has lots of character and is a very warm and comfortable place. In it you will find lots of things from many travels..
You will have the use of one en-suite bedroom with a huge lovely bed. The bathroom has a shower and a bath.
The lounge and a study are open plan and airy, eventually leading into the spacious cosy farmhouse kitchen. From there you get out onto a patio with a comfortable bench to lie on and a hammock and then into a very green tranquil garden.
There is a tree house in the Garden (an excellent place for morning mediation!) Enjoy a hot outside shower in the garden..
The second bedroom we keep locked.
The house is located in the vibey, villagy part of Cape Town, called Observatory. Many cafe's, bars, restaurants and shops are in walking distance. The drive into Cape Town city centre is about 8 minutes, to the beaches it is about 20 minutes. There is wifi in the house as well as a TV.
We love welcoming travellers as travelling is our passion and a big part of what we do.
Minimum stay 1 week
We look forward to welcoming you!!
We had a fantastic stay at Claudia's lovely house in Cape Town. We got a very warm welcome from the parents and we really felt at home. The house is beautiful, tastefully furnished and peaceful. The garden is lovely, specially for breakfast. Lots of free parking space in front of the house, very good restaurants in the neighborhood, shops nearby and very friendly neighbors.
We stayed only for one week but wish we could have stayed much longer!
I highly recommend staying there! We loved it.
Claudia and Richard's home in truly an oasis. I enjoyed my time in their home as much as I enjoyed my time wandering around in Cape Town. It was so nice to go back to their home at the end of the day and feel comfortable and at home. I loved their style and I think every day I noticed a new charming detail. I enjoyed working in the study and the wi-fi was very convenient. The backyard is lush and gorgeous; perfect for eating outdoors, yoga, or sunbathing.
The home is in a lively neighborhood only a block from a strip of cafes, restaurants, shops, and bars. There are two major grocery stores nearby and a post office. I rented a car for part of the time I was there and had no problem with parking right in front of the house. The rest of the time I took the train from the nearby station, mini-taxis on Main Road, or taxis.
Communication with Claudia was easy, as was check-in and check-out (I also got to meet her charming parents!). Also, her neighbors are lovely, helpful people.
I very much recommend this home to anyone visiting Cape Town.
We had a fantastic stay at Claudia's lovely house in Cape Town. Claudia was extremely efficient when we were organising the booking and very helpful once we had arrived. The house is in a lively neighbourhood with lots of interesting places to eat and drink, an awesome Saturday morning food market nearby and not far from attractions in the southern suburbs such as the botanical gardens. We were made to feel very welcome by Claudia's parents and the friendly neighbours. It was in a perfect location for our work at the hospital and very easy to access the rest of Cape Town.
The house itself is beautiful, the pictures posted here almost don't do it justice. It is very comfortable, secure, spacious and stylish. The garden is beautiful in the morning sunshine. We stayed for a month but wish we could have stayed much longer!
I book this place for my parents. Claudia was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly and helpfully. My father wrote the review:
We got a very warm welcome from our host Claudia and her husband Richard. They made us feel at home immediately. The house is very nice, comfortable, modern and tastefully furnished.
The garden is lovely, as well as for breakfast as for a late night drink. Lots of free parking space, good restaurants in the direct neighborhood, on walking distance, shops nearby, very friendly neighbors. In short: we loved the place and we had such a good time there. A perfect basis for exploring Cape-town, the Cape peninsula and the wine region around Cape town. We will highly recommend it.

Claudia was great with communication before and during the trip. The house was spotless when I moved in and both Richard and Claudia showed me how everything worked before they left. They also left a very good guide for the house and the local area. I highly recommend staying there!
we had a TREMENDOUS time at Claudia and Richard's home in Cape Town. they were instantly in touch while planning, and with questions during our stay - despite the fact that they were also traveling. very organized with directions fo the house and neighborhood.
the hosts were not in ZA when we arrived but they arranged for flawless check in and check out with their lovely and kind neighbors.
it was blustery and cold during our July stay but the house was warm with the wood stove. the kitchen is also a huge plus. a pleasure to cook in.
The highlight of our holiday! A peaceful house, full of space and light. We felt privileged to be able to spend a week here, and really felt at home. The lure of just relaxing in the garden meant we would often take hours to get out the door in the morning.
We loved the area too. The local restaurants were great. We had no car, but it's very easy to get around on trains, minibus taxis, or on foo - the walk into the center along Lower Main Rd is full of interesting finds.
We loved it.
