Neighborhood highlights

Anacostia is a lively urban neighborhood that people are saying will be the Georgetown of SE. While I feel completely safe and at ease in this neighborhood, I encourage visitors to be safe and aware of their surroundings.

There are a handful of shops (Good Hope Deli and Market, Grubbs SE Pharmacy & Mini-Mart), places to grab a bite to eat (Everlasting Life Vegan Restaurant, Open Crumb, Busboys and Poets - Anacostia, Turning Natural, Good Hope Carry-Out, Mama’s Kitchen), and even an arts center that is always having an event, all within 4 blocks.

I'm 42 and originally from Massachusetts, but I've called DC home since 2005. I’ve been hosting on Airbnb since 2012 and now have a renovated rowhome with a dedicated guest space. I love offering travelers a clean, cozy, and creative place to stay, along with local tips if needed. When I’m not hosting, I work as a federal attorney and run a travel company for queer women of color.
