Private Room In Zilker Park

Apartment - Private room · Kinney Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, United States

This is a private room in an artistic apartment nestled in the heart of Zilker Park. A simple bus ride, bike ride, or New York walk away from Downtown, with plenty of restaurants and bars in the neighborhood.

The Space

You'd be staying in a bedroom of a two bedroom apartment, which also functions as the studio space of a tailor/designer. The apartment is also a showroom of collected artwork and is very music friendly. I work from home, so clients come over periodically for fittings and consultations, but we will discuss the schedule in advance to make sure that everyone is happy. With this location, there is no reason to stay in though!
I do live in the apartment, so we would be roommates during your stay, so if you are looking for someone to go out with and adventure the city, you'd have a partner in crime. If you are an early bird, that is fine as well. Again, honest and open initial communication is key for me scheduling my work and life around you during your stay.

Guest Access

Feel free to raid the fridge, internet, living room, or art/music supplies as desired. I cook often and love cooking for others so don't hesitate to join me for a meal if you'd like. Contributions are appreciated, but unnecessary.

Interaction with Guests

As much or as little as you'd like. Again, just communicate with me in advance.

The Neighborhood

This neighborhood is one of my favorites in Austin. It is right next to Zilker park, is safe, surrounded by amazing houses with unique architecture, and has a healthy vibe. Also, being this close to Downtown, South Congress, S. Lamar, 1st St, Riverside, and the East side is awesome. Very centralized location.

Getting around

This apartment is within half a mile of multiple bus stops for the 3,338, and 448 buses, which will either take you or transfer you where you need to go. A cab downtown is around $10.

Other Things to Note

There are a lot of young, creative, and overall friendly people/friends who live in the complex, so the opportunity to meet wonderful people is present and encouraged.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Aaron was a wonderfully accommodating and hospitable host. The apartment is walking distance to some of the great things Austin has to offer, like Austin City Limits Festival site at Zilker Park, Barton Springs, Ladybird lake, The Alamo Drafhouse and was quite reasonably priced. Our needs were basic and it suited us.

One tip about Austin we have is to rent a car if you can. On all maps the apartment appears close to bus routes and key locations but we did find public transportation and pedestrian accommodation left a lot to be desired compared to other cities we've visited. Although this has nothing to do with our host or his apartment.

  • Aaron is an awesome, interesting host who helped us get from and to the airport (since he was not working those days). We had the space to ourselves, and it was close enough to walk to everything which was great! This was my first airbnb trip, but I really enjoyed the experience.

  • Great location to shopping on south congress, walking to Alamo Drafthouse, and less than a 5 min drive to downtown! Neighbors were friendly and Aaron was definetly accommodating! If you need a great place and on a budget I highly reccommend it!

  • Cute place, FANTASTIC location, and a thoughtful host who left towels out for us and helped us fix the wireless via text.

  • Aaron was very gracious and his apartment is in a great location. I can't say anything bad about the entire experience.

  • great little place, awesome location.

    July 2012
  • Aaron is a great host. The apartment is clean and in a great location near SoCo, Zilker Park, and other quintessential Austin spots. Oh, and free WiFi!

    July 2012
  • Aaron did a super generous thing by leaving beer in the fridge for us. His apartment was very close (driving distance) to the shops and restaurants on South Congress, and was close enough to downtown if we needed to go. The pictures make the apartment look a bit more bright, spacious and airy than we found it, but we'd still recommend it for 1 or 2 people on a budget in Austin for a weekend.

  • Aaron was a great host. Easy to communicate with and very hospitable. His apartment is located in a very friendly neighbourhood, close to bars and good food spots. Also very easy to catch the bus downtown too!
