About This Listing
Our new rooms from Elqui Domos invite you to enjoy the new architecture an the new design in the same place our domes are.
The observatories rooms are wooden cabins, located on the upper part of the land and they have three levels.
On the first level there is a living room and a bathroom, on the second level there is a double bed over which there is a window to see the sky, and on the third level there is a deck.
The maximum capacity of an observatory is 3 persons: one double bed and one additional single bed.
We were born in 2005 to fulfill its owners desire to observe and enjoy the grandeur of the skies of the Elqui Valley.
We realized that the forms and philosophy of the geodesic constructions, domes, were perfect for our objective and it was thus that we defined the basic requirements for the final design: the bed should be located in the highest place and have a roof over it that can be opened in order to watch the stars at leisure. This, while providing all the comfort needed in the room so that nothing may disturb the sensations that such an experience can produce.
“Observatories” were created 5 years later, their architectural design achieved similar effects to those of the domes with regards to observing the skies from them and also being able to enjoy the different views of the valley.
We aim at being a magical place of rest, introspection, and observation. Our objective is to provide a unique experience in our beautiful Elqui Valley.

The place is very very nice. It is very remote as they describe and was a bit difficult to find but perhaps that is because of language barrier. Once we got there we realized it was totally worth the long drive! The places are cozy, the grounds are very scenic, and the people are nice. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant and took the English Observatory tour at the domos. It was amazing! The next day we had a nice breakfast and spent time in Pisco Elqui- a very nice little (website hidden). How could I forget to mention the stars?? SO beautiful!
The place is magic. We stayed in the observatory rooms. The architecture is very modern and each apartment has a nice open terrace.
It is close from Pisco Elqui, where all the restaurants and bars are located, but far enough to enjoy the quiet evenings under the stars.
They also offered to organize some trips (horseback riding, hiking, etc).
On the downside, the breakfast is very simple and the place could make better use of local ingredients.
It also has a nice swimming pool with confortable resting chairs.
The Eliqui Domos are an incredible location in the valley of Elqui. I highly recommend these to anyone looking to pay a little higher than average and have a very comfortable star-gazing night. The bathrooms were spotless and the apartment itself was very cozy.
One very important note - I suggest you don't book this directly through AirBnB. I ended up paying the online fee totaling $43 extra. Just go to the website directly and book it through them and save some money!
