Interaction with Guests
As little or as much as they wish;breakfast is the place where people who are out most of the time get to share some conversation with us.
I love Airbnb not only for the unique homes I get to stay in, but also for the people I get to meet along the way. Staying in Wayne and Sonnie's hand-built hilltop puebo home was truly a special experience. It's about 20 minutes from downtown Bend. We arrived at dusk as the temperature dropped. The air was filled with the intoxicating scent of juniper and sage. Wayne greeted us at the door, showed us our comfortable room and the spacious bathroom next door, and gave us a tour of the property. A stonemason, Wayne built the beautiful retaining walls and columns. Every wall and surface inside and out is covered with interesting art, gems, stones and collected treasures. When I asked about Wayne's jewelry, he showed us up to his workshop, and we chatted about all the things to do around Bend while I marveled at his artistic necklaces. My boyfriend and I were exhausted and passed out soon afterward, then awoke to delicious coffee, breakfast and conversation. Sonnie was just back from traveling so I didn't get to chat with her much, but it's clear they are a fascinating and fun couple, and wonderful hosts. I couldn't resist purchasing one of Wayne's special necklaces for my birthday. It's a lovely memento of a great experience.
First off, this place is BEAUTIFUL!
it is pretty secluded, on the top of a nice hill.
There are beautiful views all around which make it that more amazing.
Wayne greeted my girlfriend and I when we arrived, gave us a tour of his home which is breathtaking, they even have a water fountain in their front room.
The room was spacious and had amazing views. The bed was comfortable and everything was fresh.
We had our own bathroom and it was amazing as well.
Wayne cooked us an amazing breakfast.
It wasn't until breakfast that we realized there was another couple staying there as well, as the house is very well insulated.
Overall this was a great place to stay and We intend to use this again when we come back down to Bend.
Wayne and Sonnie have a beautiful, large and comfortable hilltop home with a view of the Cascade peaks from the main rooms. They are very experienced airbnb hosts who include a big breakfast with your stay. Wayne enjoys showing and discussing his profession, working with beautiful stone, and his hobby making jewelry from various gems and other natural materials. It's a home we would happily return to.
What a delightful experience this stay was! The house is charming, the setting romantic and the breakfast delicious. But most importantly, the hosts make you feel right at home, like you've known each other for years. You really want to experience the view from this house.
If you are looking for a peaceful setting, artistic inspiration and warm welcoming hosts you have found your B&B! Wayne and Sonnie have built a spiritual oasis of a home nestled above the city of Bend with an outstanding view of the cascades. Bring a picnic and enjoy the sunset over the mountains from the organic rock gardens on the patio. Such a fun experience we are looking forward to coming back soon! Incredible hospitality.
We had an absolutely wonderful evening and morning at Wayne and Sonnie's beautiful home. We watched the sun set on their gorgeous patio, then watched the stars come out and had great conversation with Wayne. We woke to a delicious breakfast and recommendations for the hiking. I highly recommend staying here if you pass through Bend!
