Check In
  • Like staying in a dollhouse. Very nice and very close to OSF.

  • It is very well located, close to the Shakespeare Festival theaters and restaurants. The low ceilings made us feel a bit claustrophobic at first but we got used to it. The grounds around the apartment were also off-putting as they were full of weeds and not well landscaped. The lack of air conditioning on this hot weekend was also a drawback. The apartment was clean but felt a bit shabby. The pictures on line make the apartment look much brighter than it is.

  • As a single woman traveling alone, this location was perfect! I felt very safe and I enjoyed the short walk to the Plaza for shopping and restaurants, theaters, etc. David and Diane were gracious hosts who genuinely enjoy your presence. The daylight basement was very cool on the very hot (100+ degree) Ashland summer days. I love the "funky" atmosphere (furnishings, etc); the bed was fabulous and I had everything I needed for an enjoyable stay. One consideration -- if you have a three prong plug on your laptop, etc -- bring a plug adapter. This lovely 1915 house has only two prong plugs. I would definitely book again!

  • We didn't get to meet Diane and David as they were out of town. Spoke with Diane on the phone twice. She was very friendly and responded quickly to my phone call. The basement apartment was cute with a well stocked kitchen, full refrigerator, spacious living area and very comfortable queen bed. The location was very convenient to downtown shopping, restaurants, theatre and Lithia Park. A great find in Ashland. Jennifer and Alan.

  • We were met on Friday afternoon by Diane and their little dog, McKenzie (probably spelled it wrong...) Diane was very friendly and showed us all around their cozy little space. When we got to meet David he was friendly as well. It was private, quiet, and cool. We were very comfortable. The only blip was that our schedule did not end up with enough time to tour their distillery! WAH!!! We did get to taste their amazing gin and vodka!! We brought some home with us too!!! We will be in Ashland more in the future and will love to stay here again!! And next time we WILL make time to see the distillery!!! Thanks D and D!!!

  • Great folks with a great location who make great organic gin and vodka. David and Dianne were kind and accommodating to us and our pup. Their place is a short walk from the OSF theaters and other attractions, and they were generous with their time and with advice on where to eat (and where we could take our dog). Very glad we had the opportunity to stay there.

  • We enjoyed our stay at "Two Blocks from Ashland Plaza." The location was perfect, an easy walk to downtown and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Diane and David were friendly and gracious hosts and the apartment was well equipped with everything we needed to prepare a few of our meals at "home". There was an exceptional collection of books - next time I won't bother packing any of my own to bring along! After days packed full of theatre, hiking, and generally enjoying all Ashland offers, the nights were quiet and the bed was very comfortable for a good night's sleep. Thank you, we recommend this as a great place to stay in Ashland!

  • (Two days later). Home from my visit and I am happy to say that my stay with Diane and David was wonderful. You can not replace sincere and helpful hosteses when traveling to Ashland for any reason. When I walked into the apartment I felt like I was visiting my own family as Diane and David made me so welcome in this historical environment of downtown Ashland. The one bedroom and bath, with full kitchen and living area , is so cozy and clean. I will certainly visit here again on North Main Street, and next time stay longer. My new friends and my new home away from home.

  • As advertised this is a great location for visiting Ashland. It's a five minute walk away from most of the theaters and lots of good restaurants. The apartment has extremely low ceilings (we're pretty tall) and a slightly worn feeling about it. The bed was super comfortable. We appreciated the good coffee and samples of the lovely organic spirits made by our hosts.

  • They were very welcoming, perfect location to explore ashland by foot! We had a great time, apt was cozy and allowed us to bring our dog which was great.

We have lived in Ashland for over 30 years and absolutely love the small town charm, friendly and open people with a strong sense of community, mountains, live music, art galleries, the college, and outdoor opportunities, like White Water rafting, hiking, skiing, kayaking, snow shoeing, bicycling and much more that abound in the Rogue Valley. My husband and I are lovers of nature and hike several times a week in the Ashland watershed. I am also an Advisor at a local community college, Rogue Community College. We are animal lovers and have a sweet kitty cat, Sissy and an adorable Tibetan Spaniel named McKenzie, after my favorite river in Oregon, The McKenzie River, (which is outside of Eugene) was my first river that I attempted to white water canoe.
