Diane and David's house is a 7 minute walk from OSF venues and a 15 minute walk to the Ashland co-op and Railroad District--a perfect location, central yet quiet. So nice to have a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living spaces, table and chairs in the garden. Diane was welcoming, helpful, available yet mindful of guests need for privacy. This is a great place for people wanting an alternative to hotels, b & b's, too much eating in restaurants.
Diane and David's place was great. It was exactly as described online, and the location was excellent. We left our car parked at their house the whole time, as downtown was within walking distance.. Diane and David were excellent hosts. They were very helpful for advice on what to do, and they still gave us our privacy as needed.
We were made to feel very welcome. Diane was a wonderful host. The location was ideal. Diane told us to leave our car behind and we did. Great walking access to OSF, Lithia Park and Ashland.
This was our second stay with Diane and David and it was wonderful. They have done a lot of upgrades to their apartment and it is cozier than ever with everything you need. And it has the two most important things in spades: great hosts and great location. You can walk to everything in Ashland that you might need in a short time. There is a paved bike/walking path, excellent health food coop, theater, restaurants, shops and more all in walking distance. Deer wander through the yard (which they have made super cute). Diane and David are perfect hosts who can give advice on almost anything in the area. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. they are kind and friendly and we can't wait to visit with them again. They are the kind of hosts that make us love Air BnB!
We enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere, friendly but unobtrusive hosts, and the location is superb. The low ceilings were as described and yet the facilities were clean, worked well and the bed was comfortable. Great place--I would stay again.
Diane and David are the model Airbnb hosts. They are terrific at communicating before you arrive letting you know what to expect. Then the day of our arrival we communicated and finally when we arrived they were waiting out in front for us and greeted us warmly,
Their place is a wonderful, cozy, basement apartment that they have lovingly restored. The bathroom has a new shower done in lovely tile. The bed is super comfortable. Out in front of the door is a garden that David has obviously put a lot of care into and a little sitting area.
It happened to be north of 100 degrees during the time we visited and we had our dog with us. Diane and David actually watched our dog for us (ours got along well with Mackenzie, their dog) while we walked to breakfast one morning, and they were fine with us leaving our (well-behaved) dog in the apartment and provided us with coverings for the couch in case.
They are long-time residents of Ashland so they were great for restaurant recommendations and theater reviews! But they also let us be for the most part as we spent one hot day inside just reading in comfort.
I think this will be our go to spot from now on when we visit Ashand, a village we absolutely adore.
Thanks fort such a lovely stay Diane and David and Mackenzie.
Diane and David were the most exquisite and gracious hosts we could dream of. Their home and garden is quite charming and in the most perfect central location in Ashland - right down the block from the famous Plaza. My mother who was visiting from Chicago had no problems making her way all over Ashland with no car! The space was comfortable, clean, quiet, safe -- and most importantly -- stayed amazingly cool during the worst of our 2015 summer heat wave. Diane and David were always available to cater to my mother's needs and at the same time gave her plenty of space and privacy. They were also kind and patient enough to tolerate --even welcome - the wild bunch that was in and out to see their beloved Grandma! I HIGHLY recommend this place for comfort, convenience and charm.

About the Host, Diane & David
David & I have lived in Ashland for over 30 years and absolutely love the small town charm, friendly and open people with a strong sense of community, the mountains, live music, art galleries, the university, growing wine industry, and all of the outstanding outdoor opportunities. We love white water rafting, hiking, skiing, kayaking, snow shoeing, bicycling and many more adventures that abound within a short drive in the Rogue Valley.
We are lovers of nature and hike several times a week in the Ashland watershed. We love good food, wine and spirits. We BBQ almost every day of the year on our fabulous deck, where we spend most of our mornings and nights during the spring, summer and fall months.
We are the co-founders of Oregon's first and only organic distillery producing award winning Organic Nation Spirits.
We are animal lovers and have a sweet and adorable Tibetan Spaniel~"McKenzie", named after my favorite river in Oregon, outside of Eugene, which was the first river that I attempted to white water canoe.
We absolutely love the Airbnb community! We have met some of the nicest, friendliest, open-minded, thoughtful, adventurous, and respectful people on the planet!
