Apartment - Entire home/apt · Jacob van Lennepstraat, Amsterdam, North Holland 1053, Netherlands

The Space

This chic 30m2 one-bedroom apartment is located in one of Amsterdam's most sought after neighborhood's. Situated on the 3rd floor of a recently renovated 19th century building.

The apartment contains a fully equipped kitchen, bright living room featuring a workspace, free wireless internet, couch and cable tv. The bathroom is fitted with a modern shower and toilet and the bedroom features a double bed complete with fresh linen. A spacious closet is also available to use and contains a selection of useful things such as coat hangers, towels, an iron, luggage scale, drying rack, pegs, ironing board, fan, and small hairdryer.

At your doorstep are a variety of great bars, cafes & restaurants, world-famous museums, boutique shops, fresh food markets, and an array of historical sights. The picturesque walk to central station takes about 30 minutes, however all forms of public transport are easily accessible (particularly the direct bus to and from Schiphol airport!)

Maps, guidebooks and handy suggestions are available for those new to the city.

Price per night is based on occupancy of 1 or 2 persons.
Contact me for availability and I will respond right away.

Please bear in mind that the apartment is on the 3rd floor (3 flights of stairs - no elevator). And typical of most historical buildings in Amsterdam, the staircase is fairly narrow. They are however carpeted and well maintained. Of course whenever possible, we will offer to help you with your luggage but if you have enormous heavy pieces, the apartment is perhaps not the ideal choice, especially as we would like to keep our walls in the staircase in a good condition.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for 6 days and it was absolutely perfect. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and also in a wonderful location. It was quiet enough where we could sleep comfortably at night, but close enough to the action that we could walk everywhere. Tons of cafés, shops, pubs and museums nearby. Lastly, Kate was just SO helpful and welcoming throughout our entire stay. She made herself available to us during our whole stay and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Contact with Kate was so easy and overall everything was just wonderful. I would 100% recommend staying here!

  • I spent a wonderful weekend in the cozy and well-equipped apartment. Kate and Bart both were great and friendly hosts that provided me with all information necessary for my stay in Amsterdam. Plus, the apartment had a good connection to the airport and is well-located close to the centre!

  • My girlfriend and I had a great time in Amsterdam staying in Kate's apartment! Kate was very accommodating with our late check in time and showed us how to get everywhere we wanted to go. Her apartment is in a quiet and nice neighborhood located a perfect distance from the center. We couldn't have asked for a nicer host or a better place to stay for our weekend. I would recommend this apartment for couples without hesitation. Thank you so much Kate!!

  • Excellent location, very nice little appartement in a quiet but still central neighbourhood, very clean ! , comfortable bed, good shower, really everything was amazing. Walking distance to the main points of interest (max. around 30min, nice ways to walk), supermarket, restaurants, bars not far away. Perfect place to stay!

  • We had a wonderful time in Amsterdam and in a wonderful place!
Kate was very patient to welcome us and provide us with a lot of usefull information in a few minutes.
The apartment is exactly as shown on the pictures, pretty and very clean! You won't need anything else. For those who would claim because of the narrow stairs, I'd say it's part of the charming city! We would book again here with pleasure!

  • The apartment was spotlessly clean and very nicely designed. Everything you need is here, including a nice kitchen. Kate was very friendly and helpful (I didn't meet Bart). The location is very good, especially for visiting museums but also for easy access to Leidseplein (and the center in general). You can't go wrong staying here. I highly recommend it. Please note that the stairs are very steep, and the apartment is on the 3rd floor (the 4th floor if you are American), so if you have any mobility issues, it may not be the best place for you. Otherwise, don't waste time looking any more and just book it.

  • Kate and Bart were lovely hosts, and the Private Escape home is absolutely amazing! It is in a great location in Central Amsterdam, close to wonderful bars, restaurants, and the canals. It is beautifully designed, cozy and pristinely tidy, with all the modern amenities. A terrific launching point for seeing the city, and a warm and welcoming place to come home to in the evening. And Kate and Bart have really thought of everything - from a homegrown city guide with notes on where to get the best morning coffee, to power converters for guests from other countries. I would most highly recommend staying here. Thank you Kate and Bart!

  • Thanks a lot, Kate & Bart, for our wonderful stay in your apartment. It is charming and very well-situated, we appreciated to be so close to the city center. You've been very kind and welcoming, we felt at home! Your apartement is the ideal place for a romantic 3 or 4-days week-end. Thanks again for this private&perfect escape!

Ps: special kiss for Lenny, maybe we'll meet him next time? ;-)

  • Kate & Barn's appartment is very clean, comfortable and lovely. 1 big studio and a bedroom with everything that you will need. You can use the kitchen and prepare the breakfast yourself as we did, or use one of near nice cafes. And btw each morning in spite of quite cold weather there was a parrot siiting on a tree in front of our window ;)
Location is good, not in the center and therefore very calm, but quite close to all points of interest (about 15-20 minutes walk to the central station).
Bart was very helpful host, met us in the nearest cafe, showed and explained everything in the apartment and provided with additional materials and advices. And also recommened to us good free parking for our car. We highly recommend this place for everyone who want to enjoy Amsterdam.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Kate and Bart's place! We suspect that Kate once worked in the hospitality field, and it showed. Although we've only been using the AirBnB service for a short time, this apartment is everything we hoped to find for our European trip -- clean, modern, comfortable, well-located, with attentive host support -- a tremendous value compared to a hotel stay. Checkin was easy -- Kate met us at the train station and handed us printed directions to the unit. Once inside, we found an excellent collection of guidebooks with tips on what to see, do and eat. Kate even helped us print out some last-minute tickets to the Anne Frank museum, which saved us time in the queue. Much appreciated! TV, wifi, complete kitchen with utensils, hot water, nearby bus stop for our trip to the airport -- it all worked flawlessly. Amsterdam was the last stop on our tour, so we knew by then that the three flights of narrow stairs we had to navigate to the unit and the shower room with sink and toilet in close proximity were pretty standard features of European apartments. The kicker though was the stack of stroopwafels Kate left for us to snack on. Delicious! We know where we'll be staying if (when!) we make it back. Thanks Kate and Bart!

I grew up in a small coastal town in Australia. During my 20's I travelled a lot and enjoyed not owning any possessions so I could relocate easily. I came to the Netherlands with a one way ticket and 3 nights booked in a hostel. I didn't know anyone and I didn't have a job lined up but I had the intention of staying a year. The next thing I know, 5 years have passed! I now have my roots planted deeply here with a nice job, an apartment, a Dutch boyfriend and a dog! The difference in climate, culture, landscape and language is something that will keep me interested and challenged for quite some time. I love getting around this beautiful city by bike, each day I always seem discover something new.
