About this listing
By the month, this is a great deal for students of the Living Light or Fine Woodworking programs. Located within one of the well established, older neighborhoods and easy walking distance to downtown Fort Bragg.
A hosted home stay in a well maintained older Fort Bragg home.
We are within easy walking distance to Living Light Institute, restaurants, night spots, College of the Redwoods Woodworking School, art galleries, sunset views and the Skunk Train. An easy bicycle ride takes you to the Pudding Creek Trestle and all the way up to Ten Mile River. We are 10 miles from the town of Mendocino and way more affordable than Mendocino Village. Fort Bragg has much better and more affordable restaurants too.
This is a living room futon with a shared bath and kitchen privileges. Basic amenities include WiFi and comfortably furnished for a short stay and all basic needs. The living room/dining room can be closed off to create a "zone" of privacy or open to the rest of the house. The neighborhood is totally safe and there is easy parking right next to the house.
For the last 20 years, I have been an artist/craftswoman living on the Mendocino Coast. For years, I lived and worked here to produce my handwoven apparel. Now, I enjoy having guests who are busy and adventuresome. I like making sure everyone has a great time. This is a great community and perfect for people who like making art, food or otherwise appreciating our stunningly beautiful landscape.
Kitchen and laundry use are by request and should be scheduled.
Access to cupboards and closets is only by request or invitation. If a door is closed, that means the space beyond it is private.

This is a quiet, residential neighborhood within walking distance of blue water views of the ocean.
Walk, bicycle, car.
Other Things to Note
Access to a bicycle ($50 deposit required).
Coffee, Tea, Granola, Bagels or Muffins are there for you in the morning.
Good manners is a must. This is my home and I like to be a peaceful, respectful environment.
Guests are requested to be tidy and respectful of other guests' privacy.
Good manners in the bathroom are appreciated. Hand towels will be provided upon arrival and guests are expected to use the ones given to them specifically.
We prefer that guests do not take items to use away from the house without asking host. These include towels, cooking and eating utensils, coffee mugs.
We need to be conservative about water and electricity usage. Long showers are discouraged as are baths. We ask that guests check that heaters and lights are turned off before leaving the house.
If arriving after 6 pm, we request that guests plan to take meals out on the town. Kitchen use needs to be arranged to suit other guests.
Laundry use may be arranged by request. One load in the washer/dryer is fine. For more than one load, there is a laundromat down the street.
Adriane is a great host who made my stay a wonderful experience. She pays attention to all the details so I feel my stay is like home away from home. She is very attentive to communication and all my questions. She is effectively my travel guide and is very knowledgeable with local information. The room is very big, quiet and comfortable. It has everything you need. In the evening we had some interesting chat and I was very inspired by her creativity, her work and her kind spirit. This is the best about travel with AirBnB: to know the place, culture and people!
Communication with Adriane was very easy. She graciously accommodated a reservation on short notice. The house was lovely and the living room space where the futon is is actually larger than it looks in photos. Towels provided were quite cozy. There is a cat on the premises, but he tends to mind his own business outside, so I didn't even need to take any allergy pills. The house is conveniently located near lots of fun shops in Ft. Bragg. Adriane provided scones and coffee in the mornings and definitely creates an environment where you feel you can make yourself at home. Highly recommended!
We had a very plesent stay at Adrianes comfy and clean place. A nice bedroom with beautiful gardenview, lots of space in the kitchen. Even though we shared kitchen and bath it almost felt like being alone. Adriane offered muffins, tea and coffee and provided information about what you are interested in. Alltogeather a very nice stay. Can recomend and would stay again !
Adriane was very accommodating, especially under the circumstances, allowing me to do a load of laundry, as my daughter had been ill and soiled her carseat, and even though the laundromat was close by, the convenience of doing it while in the home was very helpful. We had some interesting conversations and she is a talented woman in the fiber arts department! The backyard was a nice refuge on a beautiful day and the space was very comfortable and clean.
The host canceled this reservation 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
It was my mistake. I missed the fact that there were two people for this reservation. I already had one guest coming for those dates and that would make four of us sharing one bathroom and a small kitchen. None of us would have been as comfortable as we deserved to be. Christiaan and I spoke on the phone about this and it was her choice. I wanted her to have the full refund since it was my fault this happened.
The house was beautiful! It is an older house but is beautiful, there is original wood all around the house, and has very nicely done bathroom brass fittings. The futon was comfortable and very private.
Adriane makes you feel at home, and is an amazing host. She offers breakfast, but i was too busy to partake. She has a adorable cat who is super friendly.
I plan on staying here again as the price was affordable and was well worth it.
My cousin and I stayed at Adriane`s for three nights. Adriane`s home is warm, beautifully furnished, and inviting. Adriane was very nice and easy to talk to. She asked ahead of time what we liked for breakfast and made sure we were taken care of with bagels, cereal, and OJ. Her home is quiet and although we all shared the one bathroom, it was not difficult or impossing. Because she is sparing of her water with the draught she asked us not to flush during the night and to put TP in the waste bucket. It was no big deal to me. I like helping to save water. I slept in the living room on a very comfortable futon. Because doors can be closed to the living room, I felt my stay there was private enough. My cousin stayed in the spare bedroom. It was very nice with dresser, desk and closet space.
The neighborhood was very quiet.
I would definitely stay again. Thank you, Adriane!
Along the Mendocino Coast we have had to be conservative about our water use for as long as I have lived here since the '70's. We save water when and wherever we can, including flushing it away. It has become habitual for everyone who lives here. In our tourist serving places, the practice is also encouraged. Currently, Fort Bragg is on water rationing which means we are not even able to water our gardens. This makes the flush an even lower priority.

About the Host, Adriane
Artist and craftswoman living and working creatively on the beautiful California Coast. I walk daily along the coastal trails and beaches. I garden, share community with friends, paint, draw, weave and read. I wish to foster a peaceful, creative life for myself and my friends. I live with my cat and share the property with my husband of 25 years who is a photographer. I've traveled and stayed in other peoples homes when I was a craftsperson doing shows in distant cities. The people I have kept as friends were the ones I shared meals with. A sense of humor is essential as is a relaxed, philosophical approach to life. I have a Master's degree in Textiles from Philadelphia University. I'm native to Northern California.
