Liberty is a classic twin masted traditional sailing yacht with all the amenities of a small apartment. A cozy summer or winter retreat. The atmosphere aboard is warm, romantic and truly unique. She has been lovingly restored over the past 6 years.
Liberty is a fully restored Tayana 37 sailing ketch and is nestled in the shadow of the historic Quinns lighthouse restaurant/pub in the quaint gardens of Embarcadero Cove marina with free parking available. Less than a mile from the Mom and Pop stores, bars and restaurants that line the beautiful streets of Alameda. Under 2 miles in the other direction will find you in the Downtown historic Oakland area. The yacht has a wonderful outside cockpit area which is great for enjoying wine, listening to music, watching the sunsets or just enjoying a morning coffee. The interior is lavished with fine teak, brass lamps and cozy seating, making it a memorable atmosphere unique only to a sailboat. There is a full galley with everything supplied to enable you to create great meals (just bring the food). The bathroom has a full sized shower and toilet along with wash basin. There is hot and cold pressure water throughout Liberty. The bedroom has a cozy double berth with a large opening hatch overhead.
The boat is fully equipped for a memorable stay, all you need to bring is your toothbrush.
Estuary cruises and Bay sailing aboard Liberty are available at an addition cost. Please feel free to inquire at any time.
We also have kayaks available to rent which are a fun way to explore the estuary.

We had such an amazing time on the Liberty! Shaun made us feel extremely welcome and comfortable on his beautiful boat and there was nothing like waking up in the morning to the sunny harbor. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone that happens to be in the area!
A sweet little boat in a quiet corner of Oakland. Shaun was a welcoming host and I really enjoyed my two nights on the Liberty.
We appreciated the experience in the boat as well as our privacy. It was very clean. Shaun was very nice and helpful.
What a gorgeous sailboat, the photos don't do this place justice. The wood accents and all the little touches on it are so gorgeous, the kitchen was spacious enough and well-equipped to make a nice little dinner, the outdoor wood deck was a perfect spot to watch and enjoy the sunset, we couldn't have asked for a nicer evening. There's plenty of room to walk around, cozy up on the couch to read a book, etc. The host, Shaun, was very welcoming and showed us around the whole boat. I would most definitely stay here again and, maybe next time, even take him up on the chartering service he offers.
My wife and I enjoyed our night on Shaun's yacht. We wish we could have stayed longer and taken advantage of Shaun's sailing expertise and added on a day of sailing. We enjoyed the peaceful environment and it really enabled us to relax. Shaun is a class act and we hope to return again.
Amazing experience! Excellent host and such a cool place to stay. My first time with AirBnB and my first time sleeping on a boat - I wish we would have planned to stay longer!
For our anniversary, my wife and I stayed on Shaun's Tayana 37 for two nights. On the one full day, we paid a little extra for him to take us sailing to San Francisco and back, on the Tayana. Excellent views and good conversation; tidbits of interesting Bay Area info and history were shared just the right amount. We saw an America's Cup boat under sail near us, and saw seals, porpoises, birds and sea lions...as well as seeing Pier 39, alcatraz and other areas from a new and unique perspective. But most of all, we were able to just relax and enjoy gliding along at a vacation pace. It was well worth planning a little extra into our budget for the sail!
The boat itself is not huge--because it is a blue water design--which lent to the intimate anniversary experience that we were going for. We cuddled up to watch a movie, we sat and talked, read books and sometimes just sat up on deck and enjoyed watching the ducks play, the rowing team row by, the quiet dock life going on, and the sun set.
Anyone would enjoy a few nights relaxing aboard. The first night, we drove over to San Francisco to attend a film festival and to buy some food at one of the traditional Italian Delis (I prefer Molinari's); so, the full day and the last morning, we ate meals that we cooked in the sea worthy galley, which was much better than going to eat out. We had intended to go to San Jose on the full day, for an event, but chose to stay on the boat. This marina is centrally located in the Bay Area, so everything is close by.
Shaun is professional and thinks of everything, yet is also very down to earth and easy going. The boat has a traditional feel to it, and we didn't want to leave. We'll be back!
