About this listing
Very comfortable house located in the heart of Venice between Rialto (2 min.) and San Marco (5 min.), Equipped with all comforts (internet, washing machine, waterbus for all directions). The house has a private terrace which looks out over the Venetian rooftops ... great for breakfast and dinners! The area enjoys a strategic location and boasts the existence of many "Venetian bar", where you can sip a drink and tasting the famous "snack at the Venetian style called "cicchetti".
We are a couple of young guys who like to interact and engage with others! We are friendly and we like the company! We love to cook! Andrea is a Italian chef! we also organize dinners available on demand!

the apartment is very well located, close to the campo san bartolomeo which is 20m away from the rialto bridge. the neighborhood is fairly quiet, yet in the vicinity of many venetian milestones. the apartment itself is nicely laid out, but be prepared to use stairs whenever you want to change rooms! there is a beautiful terrasse giving on the kitchen, so you can enjoy your meals outside, which is very appreciable! the apartment is in the piano nobile, so you are more protected from the sun than you would've been if you were higher.
however, there isnt much dishes that can be used (only the strict minimum for two persons), and no breakfast (there was a confusion as to the room I booked, although it seemed that it implied a breakfast). and, last but not least, there was no hot water, nor water pressure in the shower. this was pretty problematic, so make sure that the shower is operational when you get there!
also, if andre a was kind enough to let us use the washing machine, be prepared to fight with it to be able to wash your clothes :D is seems to be unable to start a washing unless you fool around with it, but again, this too can be sorted out by talking in person with andrea.
Andrea's apartment is perfectly located in the heart of Venice. The room is massive and the bed is comfortable. There are lots of windows and a big fan is provided to keep you cool throughout the night. There is a small kitchen and balcony which we are able to use as well. The only problem with the actual flat itself was the bathroom. It was tiny and I barely fit inside without hitting my head on the ceiling (I am 6 foot 1). The shower also only had cold water which wasn't pleasant. Just a tip, if you leave the windows open at night be prepared to wake up with several mosquito bites!
This flat is hard to find but Andrea does his best to help ease the that trouble. He had my girlfriend and I wait outside a sandwich shop until his friend arrived and took us to the apartment. I hope you travel light because the apartment is about a 30 minute walk from the Venice train and bus stations (lots of uphill stairs and people in the way).
Overall, I would stay here again. It is good value for the money and the location is close to everything you need to see and do while you are in Venice. Thanks for having us Andrea!
Andrea was extremely communicative, reaching out a couple days in advance of my arrival and making himself available should I have any questions or concerns. He also provided me detailed directions on how to navigate my way to his friend, who took me to the apartment. The apartment is lovely, it's perfectly clean, the bedroom is huge, and the patio is perfect. I really loved it and hope to return. And, yes, the water is chilly, but in the summer heat it's refreshing; it's all you'd want! It's a great place, I recommend it absolutely!
Andrea was not always prompt with communications and I was a little worried up until a couple days before we arrived but he sent someone to meet us at the vaporetto and lead us to the apartment. This was good as we'd never found it otherwise. But as another recent reviewer pointed out, once you orient yourself to the narrow alleys of Venice it's fairly easy to find.
That apartment is clean and quaint.....seemed to fit in well with the whole Venice experience. It was certainly very quiet and peaceful though you could hear the goings on from the church next door. Usually this involved choir singing (we heard a concert once!) and bell ringing but it tended to add to the charm. Couldn't get the stove top to light and there was no hot water for the shower and questions about this to the host went unanswered.
The location was great! The Grand Canal and San Marcos Plaza only minutes away.....actually all of Venice walkable from there. Plenty of eating options within steps of the apartment as well as a small grocery.
Andrea sent someone to meet us as promised, however he was very hard to get in touch with before the trip. As a planner, I really wanted to know the address, but unfortunately the apartment is in a very confusing place and therefore cannot be found on google maps. After Andrea's friend took us there, it was very easy to find during our stay. We had the apartment to ourselves (the second room was locked for some reason), so it was very private. Very tiny, my 6'3" husband had to duck around a lot. It was very clean and comfortable. The wifi was great. The shower was only cold, we had to go into the kitchen to try to start the broiler several times to get even a little bit of hot water and it kept shutting off mid-shower. We never saw Andrea. Overall, decent experience. Great location though!
