The description and category is INCORRECT. The listing is under ENTIRE HOME but it is a shared apartment. I should have been cautious as a previous airbnb guest experienced the same problem. What bothered me is that the listing has not yet been removed from the ENTIRE HOME category by AirBnb !?
We stayed at this villa for just under 3 weeks, taking the whole house.
* convenient location
* helpfulness of the housekeeper (Chotu)
* kitchen set up includes most things you need in an Indian kitchen
* no mosquito nets on windows
* electrical work at beginning of stay meant no power in some rooms
* patchy internet/wifi
* patchy TV reception
* some garden space not usable due to equipment/work being done
* host required additional fee to secure whole villa despite ad being for "entire villa"
* host required additional fee for housekeeper to make breakfast and clean. However would be not possible to enter house each time without him being there
* difficult discussion on last day re amount due and need to vacate property left a negative final impression
Sherral's villa is located superbly in an upmarket area with easy access to public transportation and dining options but without the inner city noise and commotion. Sherral was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. Her care taker Chotu was a great help and made us some refreshing masala chai and provided multiple breakfast options.
The villi itself is very spacious, it has 2 private terraces and a private garden. It's well furnished and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. I can't image anyone having any complaints if they pick Sherral's villa as their BnB in Pune.
We really enjoyed staying in Sherral's (huge!) villa. Her place is perfectly located for exploring Pune, and Mr Shortu took great care of us during our stay - his breakfasts are one of the most memorable parts of our trip to India. Sherral made sure that we were looked after - she even offered to have one of her friends guide us around town during our stay - and this was much appreciated. We would certainly stay again on our next visit to Pune. Thanks Sherral!
We are a group of six friends & colleagues who stayed at Sherral's home for one night on our 'foodie weekend' in Pune. The lovely villa with a small lawn exceeded our expectations. It is luxurious & beautifully designed, with three bedrooms on split levels & a large hall & kitchen on the ground floor. It is spotlessly clean, well-furnished, airy & sunny - a very welcoming place to hang out with family or friends. The decor & furnishings are understated but elegant. Sherral also thoughtfully provides clean towels, napkins & toiletries for guests. For extra people, there are comfortable mattresses to sleep on.
The listing & photos put up by Sherral on airbnb are very accurate. The neighbourhood is fantastic, very centrally located & close to the railway station if you're coming by train. Koregaon Park, Pune's neighbourhood with leafy lanes & pretty bungalows, where you also find the famous Osho ashram as well as multiple popular restaurants, is a short drive down the road from the villa or a 10-minute walk if you prefer that.
Her diligent housekeeper Chotu is a star, who helped make our stay even more comfortable. He made us a wonderful breakfast of poha, eggs, toast, butter & jam, as well as juice, cut fruits & fresh masala tea. Apart from being a good cook, he has maintained a high level of cleanliness in the house in spite of being unsupervised, which is not very common in India, & which we really appreciated. Full marks to Chotu for being an excellent caretaker/housekeeper.
Sherral also went the extra mile to call me and confirm whether we were comfortable, even though she was not in the country at that time. I appreciate this gesture from a host.
Overall, a fantastic home away from home in Pune, if you're travelling in a group of 5-12 people.
