The Space

Boracay Studios: is a 3 floor, 22-unit condominium building with both studio style and one bedroom units. It is a 5-minute walk to a quiet, private Diniwid Beach, yet is just a few minutes walk as well to all of the action located at the center of Boracay Island. Some of its amenities / services include an atrium style indoor swimming pool, a gym / studio equipped with a sound system, yoga / Pilates ball and mat, overlooking lush green hills, security guard from 9pm - 9am, WiFi internet access in the lobby / common area with with local hand-crafted Acacia wood furniture on the 1st floor. There's a laundry drop-off service less than a minute walk from the building that is open 'til 11pm (they charge 40 Philippines Pesos per kilo for overnight service and double for rush service).

Unit #07: Approximately 25 square meters fully-furnished studio style space on the 1st floor of the building with atrium style swimming pool right outside the front door, quiet peaceful surroundings, 1 full bath with shower and bathtub, queen sized bed (pillows and linen provided upon arrival), TV with cable, rooftop with lush green jungle-like mountain view that semi surrounds the building that's perfect for meditation, breathing, yoga exercises or simply enjoy the view and some quiet time, kitchen with cooking and eating utensils, electric cooking stove, toaster oven, rice cooker, electric kettle, local hand crafted acacia wood dining table and 2 chairs, and refrigerator. There's a common area on the same floor as this unit where there is WiFi internet access. Although, long-term rental is preferred, the unit is also available for short-term rental for 1,600 Philippines Pesos a night (approx. $37 = $29 Euros / night) or long-term rental for 43,000 PhP = $1000 (price negotiable with the owner) with fare included from the airport for our guest(s). We would be happy to pick up our guest(s) at Cagban Jetty (Boracay's Boat Station) or Caticlan Airport and / or accompany you to go shopping, experience nightlife and wherever you need to go. ☺

  • The owner of the place was very friendly and responsive when we were making the booking. Someone had booked the place for a couple days in the middle of our stay, but the owner found a way around and got us the unit for the entire period. We really appreciated that because it was high season. The owner does not stay in Boracay, but the people incharge of the apartment complex are helpful. They gave us food when we reached late at night, along with advice and help with other things. However, there were a few not so pleasant experiences we would like to share: 1) The description of the place on AirBnB along with the owner's first e-mail confirmed that there would be free internet in lobby. However, the building manager demanded payment for use of the internet. He let us use the internet without payment as a courtesy for some time though, but we felt very uncomfortable. 2) The owner's first e-mail said that as the kitchen in the apartment was small, we could freely use the full kitchen with gas range in the common area. However, the building manager demanded payment for use of the common kitchen and we had to stop using the common kitchen. We booked this place primarily because of kitchen access as we had food restrictions and one member had severe food allergies. 3) Cooking on the electric stove provided in the unit was difficult. The stove did not have enough power, and the main pot was not flat bottomed, so heated up very slowly on the stove. The pot and the pan given for use in the unit were also badly scratched and in bad condition. 4) When we contacted the owner during our stay that the building manager was demanding payment for items that she said clearly were free (internet and kitchen with gas range), the owner did not respond to three e-mails. This was very disturbing. 5) Finally, although we realize this unit has a strict cancelation policy, we notified the owner that we would be leaving one day earlier than booked more than a month before our stay. The owner said she would refund us the payment for that day. However, nothing happened, and when reminded later, the owner said that they did not know about the early departure. When we pointed that this conversation was recorded on AirBnB's website, we did not hear back. I don't mind not receiving the refund because the unit had a strict cancelation policy, but we at least deserved a reply. This is a perfectly fine place if you want a cheap studio not too far from the beach. If you need to cook using a gas stove rather than a slow electric stove, or need to use the internet, be ready to shell out more money even if its promised otherwise. Also keep in mind that you might not hear back from the owner if you have questions or concerns during your...

My husband and I have been spending almost the last 3 years travelling for work, working to travel, and travelling for pleasure as a married couple and individually for more than 3 years. We were originally based in New York where I spent about 26 years of my life and he about 5 years altogether. Although, we still travel for work and vise versa, we are currently making Philippines our home base in Boracay Studios where my parents own 2 units: 1 one bedroom and 1 studio style.
