About This Listing
This is a smallish private room with it's own private bathroom. The room has a queen size bed and will sleep two comfortably. The house is right behind Magnolia cafe on South Congress in the SOCO district so you will be right in the middle of town Restaurants and shops abound in the neighborhood. There's enough of them to keep you busy for days even with out a festival. Wifi is available in the house and street parking is easy.
" See my other listings for reviews" people are happy here and I'm happy to make it possible. I love making new friends.
if this room is not available for the dates you want please check out my other room https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/942333. It s the newest room in the house and pretty cool.
Also available in the same house is https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/256464
Comfy and cozy accomodations in the South Congress neighborhood. In walking distance of SoCo restaurants, bars, etc. Shared the house with other airbnb guests; our schedules didn't overlap too much so felt like I had the place to myself. Matt was responsive but I didn't meet him.
Our stay in Soco was great. Matt's house was right off South Congress so only steps away from so many great shops, restaurants and bars. The room was small but had a study inside which made it easy for us to put all our stuff.
We never met matt but he answered any questions promptly.
Would definitely stay again!
Great spot, very well located. Tons to do, see, and eat within walking distance. Beautiful house, beautiful kitchen. Several other rooms in the house were being Airbnb'd and met some other nice guests.
I only met Matt very briefly on the second day of our stay, but he was helpful and responsive via text. He also responded extremely quickly to my booking request, which is always appreciated.
Two small thing to note:
-the room is described as private with a private bath. The room is a little separated from the others, but is directly off of the kitchen and there were often other guests there making food, coffee, etc. This wasn't an issue for us at all, but deems clarifying.
-Also, the private bath isn't private (I imagined it being accessible only through the bedroom, but that's not the case). Again, this wasn't really an issue as there were plenty of bathrooms in the house, but it was unfortunate timing that just as we arrived at the Airbnb, another guest stepped out of our "private" bath having left a stinker behind.
The house is in a great location, just a block away from many stores on SoCo. Our room was cozy, the kitchen is beautiful. Backyard is nice, but the weather was a bit chilly so we didn't get to use it. Cats are awesome. Didn't meet/see the host during our stay, but he was responsive to texts. Only issue? The plumbing in the bathroom isn't the best.
We would stay here again if we go back to visit Austin.
Had a great stay the house was very central and in close walking distance to lots of bars, restaurants and shops. The house was warm, spacious and homely. Only improvement I would have liked is the water pressure was a bit weak, but not a big deal. Felt very comfortable here, would love to stay again.
This is a beautiful house in a great location very close to the interesting stores and restaurants on South Congress. There are 5 or 6 rooms here which were all occupied at some point during our stay which gave the big kitchen and living areas a nice social hostel feel over NYE. There are two cats which are fairly pleasant. We didn't actually communicate much with Matt at all, but we didn't need him for anything, so that was fine. Our room itself was basic, and the shower wasn't great, but they were minor issues.
We'll almost certainly be staying here again (if available) next time we're in Austin.

About the Host, SoCoBnB /Matt
I live in Austin Texas but grew up in Eugene Oregon. I've lived in Colorado for many years and Asia for two years. I'm a photographer, a skier, a cyclist and a climber who loves the mountains. Traveling and meeting interesting new people is my favorite part of life. Airbnb is a great way to make both things happen. I'm always happy to meet other travels and swap stories even if you're not staying with me. I've lived in Austin for a long time and know it well if you're looking for advice.
I keep my house pretty nice but love to rough it when I travel. My favorite places are Haiti, China, India and Eastern Europe.
We're not here for a long time, so we might as well be here for a good time.
