I have a suite in the front of the house where I will stay so you will have the privacy of the whole house to yourself. I am located in the central Fraser Valley, 10 minutes to the train station and 20 minutes on a direct train to downtown Vancouver. I am 15 minutes from White Rock and the ocean, 1 hour from the hot springs and as mentioned transportation to and from the train is included in this price. We can be as rough or as comfortable as you want. I know the special camping places that the tourists don't know about. Even if you don't decide to stay with me, email me if you have any questions about the area. I am happy to help. I can tell you exactly where the lodging is located in reference to where you want to be. Let me help. To stay with me you must like animals as I have two rabbits (outdoors) and a number of cats. The cats are mostly outdoor and are not allowed in the main parts of the house but they are friendly and may want you to pet them if you are sitting on the deck. I also have two small dogs but I will be taking those with me into the suite so they won't be bothering you. I am completely and utterly anal about cleanliness. My house is scrubbed, dusted and washed regularly. You will not find one cat hair - you have my word. I don't mind guests being messy so feel free to toss your stuff around anywhere you like. I am within walking distance to both Chinese and Greek restaurants. 10 minutes to the best Irish pub in Canada and I can direct you to the best live music in the area and probably introduce you to the band if you are so inclined. I am close to walking trails of every kind from beach front to rain forest and I know them all well if you want a guide. My home is located on a commuter street which makes it easy to find and give easy access to the freeway or the beach. I have lots of parking and a full security system for your use if you prefer. My home is recently fully renovated and very well maintained. Please contact me and let me help make your vacation absolutely wonderful. I want you to come back again and again and tell all your friends about your wonderful trip.

Guest Access

Guest have access to everything in the house. I do have to feed the cats so I come to the backyard in the mornings and attend to the animals and water the garden so I guess you could say the back garden is "shared" but I try to give you as much privacy as I can. There is nothing off limits. What is mine is yours.

Interaction with Guests

I am available to interact if you initiate it but I want you to have the vacation you want to have so I am happy to leave you alone too. I live in the suite in the front of the house so you can reach me by knocking on the door but the main part of the house is very separate from the suite so I don't really hear anything or see anything other than the front door so you can be as noisy or whatever as you like, (please consider my neighbours though). I really enjoy meeting new people and I have taken my guests on a night on the town with my friends. I have cooked dinner for my guests and once had guests cook dinner for me which was nice. On the other hand I have some guests I saw one time and not again until they leave so it really is up to you.

The Neighborhood

I live in a central location, walking distance from shops, restaurants and the pool. I am on a major transportation route so access to the bus and train are easy but I am across the street from a farming community so you can take a nice walk through the fields with an outstanding mountain view. My house is easy to find and close to the border, the airport, downtown and the valley.

Getting around

I am on a major bus route. My price includes transportation to and from the Sky train but if you want to take the bus it stops literally across the street from my house.

Other Things to Note

Airport drop off is included in the price of the house as is all transportation to and from the sky train.

The sky train line takes you directly into downtown Vancouver and it stops at most tourist destinations. It is $3.50 each way to ride the skytrain and it is a safe and interesting way to travel.

I offer a tour guide service which is $25.00 per person for the entire day (Minimum $100). I will take you anywhere you want to go, stay as long as you want to stay, drop you off door to door or join you if you want a personal commentary about the attraction. This includes trips gold panning or downtown Vancouver or to the local beach.

There are three main tourist attractions that you cannot get to by the sky train. One is Grouse Mountain. If the weather is clear it is a beautiful way to see the city and there are some interesting exhibits but everyone must be ok to ride in a gondola. You can catch a bus to Grouse Mountain from the Skytrain which cost about $10.00 each and the ride up the mountain is $30.00 per person. (website hidden) grouse Moutain.

There are two suspension bridges. One is free but you need someone to drive you to it as it is difficult to find. The other one is also about $32.00 per person. Here is the link (website hidden) Cap Bridge for this one.

(website hidden) Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge for information about the free bridge.

The biggest tourist attraction is Stanley Park which is a beautful 6 km walk. If you are up to walking it or walking half of it then you don't need a car but the easist way to see it is to drive through and stop at the various photo stops.

The last suggestion is a day in Whistler. It is the scene of the Olympics and it is a wonderful drive and a beautiful way to spend a day. It is a three hour drive with some good hikes and stops along the way if you know where to look. It is the jewel of the Pacific Northwest and a must see if you are looking for an authentic B.C. experience.

You can take a tour bus from Vancouver to
Whistler and back for 182.50 (this would include all the sight seeing in Vancouver as well the lynn canyon bridge.

There is a cheaper option which is $35.00 per person but the bus is old and creaky and there are no stops. Just there and an hour later back on the bus to come back.

I charge $250 for a day in Whistler. This includes everyone the van can seat (6 passengers) for a full day. Includes all the stops you want on the way, gas up and back and we can leave as early in the morning as you like and come back as late at night as you like.

  • Sharah exceeded our expectations, we immediately felt at home, not like a hotel and that to us meant the world. When we needed rest Sharah left us alone, and when we needed to get somewhere, Sharah was up and ready to get us there. Sharah could give people lessons on how to be the best host/hostess possible. Gracious wonderful, friendly, and outgoing, thank you Sharah, look forward to staying at your place again when we decide to come back to Vancouver, and please say hello to the kitties for us, we loved them all!

  • Staying at Sharas place was a fantastic experience. The home is exactly as described, though the back garden photos do not do it justice. It is even nicer than than the photos portray, with lights illuminating the trees after nightfall, the hot tub, and a swing hammock to relax in. Brilliant place to spend the evening relaxing and soaking up the serenity.

As a hostess, Shara deserves a gold medal! Although she would have been quite happy to leave us alone to do our own thing, we were delighted to accept her offer of showing us around Vancouver and BC. She selflessly devoted her time to ensuring we had a wonderful stay in Vancouver. Shara and her son Aaron acted as our personal tour guides, exploring places and indulging in activities we would not have known of without their help. We even went out for dinner with her friends and enjoyed listening to a band she knew. She drove us everywhere we wanted to go, and accompanied us on our explorations and treks, enhancing the trips with her experiences and knowledge as only a local can do. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and unreservedly give Shara the highest of recommendations. Not only does all the above apply, Shara and her son Aaron, are both very intelligent and stimulating people, and absolutely fantastic company! I can't recommend highly enough!

  • Shara was a great Hostess and very accommodating. She made us feel welcome from the start with homemade muffins, wine, cheese and crackers waiting for us. She also left us a nice, refreshing pitcher of fruit water which was incredible. She had anything and everything you could possibly need in her home. The backyard is a nice and relaxing oasis. I would highly recommend this home and look forward to visiting it again in the future. Thanks again Shara for everything. The Page Family.

  • Great home and amazing host! The home is in a great area, away from the hustle of Vancouver. It is only about 20 minutes from the airport/city and has easy access to main roads and public transit. Great space to relax and a fantastic backyard to enjoy the hot tub and see the stars.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Can't wait til the next time you come and we can party up the canyon to Kelowna. How about a little gold panning along the way?

  • This place was perfect for our needs! As a busy mother with 2 young kids, there is no way I could have attended the nearby conference without Shara's flexibility and willingness to help. She found us baby gear, helped us cook a delicious meal, and ferried me back and forth. The kids loved the toys and the hot tub! I have allergies and was prepared for wheezing and sneezing but was pleasantly surprised to find they weren't triggered - a rarity for me. Thanks so much, Shara!

    Response from Shara:

So nice to meet your family, Tracy. I am glad the many air filters I have in the house kept your allergies at bay. Having allergies myself (cats, dust, chemicals, pollen) I am very sensitive to air quality so we work hard to minimize the triggers in the house. Thrilled it worked well for you. Give the kids a hug from me. :)

  • It was such a pleasure staying at this place. Shara was really great and there whenever we needed her. She was very accomodating to our needs. If we needed anything Shara would do anything to try and make it happen. If it wasn't for Shara I would not have had the great wedding that I did. She made it possible for me to be with my family through the last few days of singlehood.

  • Shara is a very nice person. She has helped us a lot in everything, and we specially thank her her help in transportation. She has helped us so much knowing Vancouver!. It was really funny the party she organized with her friends for us to know Halloween. Thank you, Shara!
The house is cozy, warm, confortable and has a big and beautiful garden. We highly recommend Shara's home!

  • An enjoyable time spent with Shara. Shara was happy to take us where we wanted to visit & gave a very interesting rundown on the local areas & histories. If considering to return to Vancouver would not hesitate to contact Shara again

  • Shara was a warm and welcoming hostess. Her home was charming and very comfortable. I was impressed with the artistry of her decor and appreciated the extra touches like home-baked bread for breakfast. Her back yard was lovely and the whole family enjoyed the hot tub almost every night. Shara provided us with transporation when we needed it and made the drive interesting by providing a tour through some of Vancouver's more interesting neighbourhoods. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend her to anyone visiting Vancouver!

About
I am a single Mom with a great 19 year old son. I often travel with my son and my ex husband who is a very good friend or sometimes with other friends too. I live in Surrey, B.C.. I love having visitors to my home. I love to travel and learn about other people and their cultures. I am an active community volunteer. I work in the arts. I mentor new immigrants while they are settling in this country. Although I am allergic to animals, I have cats, dogs, rabbits and birds. I take a lot of antihistamines. I love life. I love to explore but I need a comfortable safe place to come home to when I am done. Five things I can't live without....hm...well first is my hot tub. Second is my children (I was a foster mom so I mean ALL my children). My grandchildren....nuf said, my animals. How many is that - four. Ok last is my electric potato peeler....don't ask. Favorite travel (email hidden)y place I haven't been yet. Favorite books - to many to name...seriously. I always have three books on the go and I couldn't even begin to tell you about them. To many to name...for real,. Movies - don't go- hate paying $5.00 for old stale popcorn. I watch documentaries on netflix. guess I am cheap. Music - like everything. Food - LOVE FOOD. When I travel i like to get to know the local people. I guess I value my privacy sometimes but for the most part - I really like people and I like them to hang around and tell me about what it is like living where they live. Tell me about your politics, your concerns. What really goes on in your town. I am really interested to get to know you. My style of traveling is eclectic. I will rough it for awhile and then I can't stand it anymore and it's 5 star all the way...til I feel like camping again. I have enjoyed my Airbnb experiences so far. I am looking forward to meeting you and your family. Do I have a motto....hmm. I say "just get on with it" to my kid a lot. Is that a motto? I guess it is. Quit whining and just get on with it.
