About This Listing
Brisbane Water is a two minute stroll from our house. Here you can swim, kayak, fish, waterski, or just stroll along the peaceful waterfront. We have a small rowboat if you'd like to get out onto the water.
We have a two-storey house. Our living area is upstairs, and the guest suite is downstairs.
We have two guest rooms available. One has twin king single beds and the second room has a queen bed. The private guest bathroom has been recently renovated. Both bedrooms have split-system air conditioners so you'll be comfortable all year round. The room with the queen bed leads into a guest sitting area, with a pull-out sofa, armchair, table and chairs. We have recently installed a modern kitchenette, with a sink, microwave, fridge, coffee machine, kettle, and a good selection of crockery, cutlery etc, so you can self-cater if you wish. There are always complimentary bottles of water in the fridge for you, and fresh milk for your cups of tea or coffee.
There's a 4 burner BBQ downstairs if you want to barbecue for yourself, or we have a 6 burner BBQ on the upstairs deck which you're welcome to use any time.
There's also an iron and ironing board.
We have a portable cot if needed.
Don't worry about bringing toiletries with you - we have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sunblock etc for you. We also provide a hair dryer, a GHD and a Rusk Miracurl.
We also know from experience that pillow height can be a big problem in a different bed, so we have a range of different pillows so you can find the best one for a good night's sleep.
You're very welcome to use the kitchen upstairs if you like to cook for yourself.
We have free WiFi internet connection.
We can offer you a range of options for breakfast, depending on what you like. You can have eggs, cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, juice, tea or coffee. If possible, let us know what you'd like before you come so we can get in fresh ingredients. If the weather is fine, we recommend eating breakfast on the deck, overlooking Brisbane Water, and watching the birds that often come to visit.
Where we live:
Our house is in a quiet suburban street, just a stones-throw from the waterfront of Brisbane Water. We have a small rowing boat if you'd like to get out onto the water. There are fish out there, if you have the patience. We have lines and bait if you'd like to give it a go.
Things to see and do:
It's just a ten minute drive to beautiful beaches like Terrigal and Avoca. There are gorgeous National Parks surrounding the Central Coast. You can go fishing, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving - why not go and see the Pelican Feeding at The Entrance, or visit the Australian Reptile Park where you can feed the kangaroos and see lots of other interesting native animals.
Interaction with Guests
We can offer you as much or as little privacy as you like. The guest area is completely self-contained, but of course we'd love you to come and join us for a chat or to share a bottle of wine with us.
Saratoga is a peaceful suburb, between Gosford and Avoca. The things we love most about Saratoga are the lovely water views and the relaxing atmosphere.
Saratoga has a very convenient shopping centre, which is a ten minute walk from our house. It has a chemist, bottle shop, IGA supermarket, two cafes, fruit shop, butcher, bakery and newsagent.
If you're coming from the airport, catch the train to Gosford and then we can pick you up from the station, or you can catch a bus from Gosford Station to Saratoga.
If you like to take the scenic route, take the train from Sydney to Woy Woy, then take the ferry from Woy Woy to Saratoga.
Other Things to Note
Our nightly rate of $89 includes both rooms, so if you prefer to spread out into two separate rooms there is no extra charge. We don't charge per person or per room - the $89 covers two people, including breakfast.
If you are staying on your own, ask us for a discounted rate and we'll send you a special offer through the airbnb reservations page.
No smoking in the house.
If you're not going to be home, please turn off the air conditioners and lights before you go out, to conserve power.
The sunny twin bed guest bedroom has a reverse-cycle air conditioner and plenty of wardrobe space. The beds are king singles so you'll be able to stretch out. They both have electric blankets fitted.
So impressed with Robyn & David's place. It is beautiful. So peaceful and private. All the little details have been though of to make us feel extremely comfortable throughout our stay. Such a lovely relaxing weekend. The area is idyllic and so close to the water. Wonderful wonderful hosts, we would love to come back. Thank you!!
This was my first experience of using airbnb so I wasn't sure what to expect. The location was in a quiet culdesac with easy access to a walk along the waters edge.
The hosts were friendly, relaxed and welcoming and the accommodation was wonderful. There were easy to follow instructions with the tv, cold drinks in the fridge, treats for weary travellers...top class. The accommodation was spotless, the bed comfy.
A great experience and my future expectations for airbnb have been set high. I will return.
This was a great experience. We were able to arrive at time good for us. Robyn greeted us, helped to settle in, explained what is around the area (including short walk to the water) and was generally very welcoming.
In the morning, we had a great breakfast on veranda with hosts and two very friendly dogs keeping us company.
I'd stay there again without hesitations.
Thanks Robyn, it was a perfect stay in a perfect place. Room was way better then in $200 per night hotel. It's very comfortable, has everything that you'd expect from service appartment and of a good quality. It has even cofee machine, hitted floor, a nice touch everywhere.
Robyn is a nice non-intrusive host and we really enjoyed breakfast with her upstairs talking and looking at a fantastic view.
We had a wonderful night. The rooms are so clean, fresh and spacious, and beautifully decorated. The bed is sooo comfortable too!
The area around is lovely and quiet and it's a very short walk to the water.
Robyn is a terrific, generous host, and we are really looking forward to getting back there in the future.
Robyn and David have been very thoughtful and generous in setting up their guest rooms. Everything you can think of was provided to make the stay comfortable and the finish of all the facilities was of high standard.
A relaxed breakfast on the deck was a highlight, accompanied by the local bird life! Plenty of places to explore in the surrounding areas. Highly recommended!
About the Host, Robyn
Hi, my name is Robyn. I'm a retired teacher, now enjoying retired life with my husband David. We have two children and two grandchildren. We also have two dogs and one cat.
A few years ago we decided to work in Japan for a year - that year turned into four years, and we are now home again and of course we love all things Japanese.
We have travelled around Europe and America as well - our son lives in California so we visit every year.
Our life is fairly quiet - Saratoga is a beautiful place and there are lots of gorgeous beaches and places to walk. We like spending leisurely evenings on our deck, overlooking beautiful Brisbane Water while enjoying a barbecue and a good bottle of red wine.
