Our guest bedroom is in our home built in 1989 in Diamond Pointe subdivision of Maumelle,Arkansas, just across the AR river from state capital,Little Rock. Our house isn't huge but "homey", one we bought as our retirement home in 2005. Since I am a Master Gardener,I have worked continuously on the yard and garden but it is a work in progress!
The guest bedroom has a beautiful cherry high back bed with comfy new mattress, antique rocker, carpeted, with double windows on the front of the house, looking out on a very quiet street. Adjoining bath has tub/shower combination. We do have 2 small house dogs that are our "Kids". We are a retired Teacher and Methodist preacher. who enjoy getting to know new people while making a hot, home-cooked breakfast for them.
There are some fast-food restaurants nearby in Maumelle. Most restaurants and attractions , like the Clinton Library and the River Market, are about twenty minutes away over the Arkansas River in Little Rock. Parking is available in our driveway which enters off Coral Cove.
Donna and Jerry had a lovely home, very cozy (especially over the holidays), and the room was quiet and comfortable. Jerry made a fantastic breakfast each morning, and allowed us to take a quiche to my mom's home as well. Very friendly and gracious hosts. My wife and I can recommend them without question.
I was looking to stay somewhere near I-40 as I returned to NM from a visit to TN. Donna's house was a welcome alternative to chain motels. As I was traveling by myself, it was great to visit with Donna when I arrived and the next morning over breakfast. Each time I meet a host(ess), I feel that I get a feeling for the history and culture of the area that I am visiting, in a way that staying at a hotel will never provide. Donna's house is beautifully decorated, warm, very clean and tidy. The hospitality and accomodations are top notch.
Donna and Jerry were very gracious and charming hosts.
Their house is warm and welcoming. We very much enjoyed talking to them about the full gamit of life' up's and downs.
The room was superb.Donna cooked a delicious breakfast which the 4 of us enjoyed together .Difficult to imagine a nicer place to stay.
If you ever find your way to Little Rock, AR or anywhere in the near vicinity - stay with Donna and Jerry. They are as gracious as are their accommodations, the combination of which promotes relaxation and rejuvenation! Donna is a Master Gardener and their yard is a reflection of love and skill. It was wonderful to sit under the pergola with a cool beverage and delightful hosts after a long day's drive. The bed was uber-comfortable, such a treat. We were on the road ridiculously early the next day, but Donna and Jerry both got up to make sure we had a nourishing breakfast. Thanks so much for your wonderful hospitality and we hope our paths cross again.
Donna and Jerry Meeks were unbelievable hosts. They welcomed us into their home with open arms, eager to get to know us and make us feel comfortable. Conversation with them was so easy--they are interesting, friendly, and kind people. They pay deep attention to detail, including providing us with a list of restaurants for dinner, having a luggage rack in the room, and even leaving Andes chocolate mint candies in a dish on a nightstand! Breakfast was awesome, quiche made by Jerry and blueberry muffins fresh out of the oven made by Donna. We had a wonderful experience and if back in Little Rock, would stay with them again in a heartbeat!
Where do I begin with all the praises? As for the Meeks' home and service, a good night's rest was followed by Gerald serving his perfected quiche for breakfast and Donna baking some wonderful blueberry muffins. The bedroom was spotless; the linens were fresh; the bathroom was clean; and the kitchen was inviting. Our experience was so much more than a night's stay...it was a lesson in the art of serving others. We are forever touched by the fellowship with Donna and Rev. Meeks.
Aside from Donna and Gerald's hospitality, warm home, and good cooking, we most enjoyed our fellowship with them. Our parting day was voluntarily delayed by about two hours as our breakfast conversation gained more depth like a long awaited family reunion. We eventually parted ways with sincere hugs and true appreciation for what the spirit of our fellowship was all about.

Should you ever happen upon Little Rock, you must visit with the Rev and Mrs. Meeks! They are the living embodiment of southern hospitality. Their homemade breakfast was absolutely divine! I thoroughly enjoyed our time spent in conversation over a range of topics, and they were enormously helpful in navigating the cultural, dining, and entertainment options in the greater little rock metropolitan region. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
The Meeks are wonderful hosts. I immediately felt welcome into their home. Our fun and varied conversations ranged from ethnic cuisines to high tech cars that drive themselves. The room was quiet and very well kept. The breakfast was excellent and with a flexible schedule that adapted perfectly to my working agenda. I will definitely return to say with the Meeks on my next business trip to Little Rock.
During a cross country drive from California to Virginia my boyfriend and I stayed with the Meeks because we were tired of motels and wanted to have a safe place to stay while visiting Little Rock.
Our stay with the Meeks far exceeded my greatest expectations. Donna provides all the luxuries of a hotel (private guest room and bath, clean plentiful linens, alarm clock, luggage rack, etc) but she also offers guests a warm and friendly environment that gives you the "home away from home" feel.
The Meeks are welcoming and gracious hosts. They are happy to talk to you and share stories or to let you have you own private time or explore Little Rock.
Our favorite experience of our ENTIRE cross country trip was sharing breakfast (homemade blueberry muffins, honey butter, quiche, fruit salad, coffee and orange juice) and swapping stories with the Meeks. We left with full tummies and happy hearts.
This is a wonderful place to stay. I can't wait to go back and stay with them.
Donna and Jerry were terrific hosts! They accommodated our special parking needs. The bedroom is very private, quiet with fresh linens. The bathroom is sparkling clean.
The breakfast muffins, coffee and fruit were excellent. If we travel through Little Rock in the future, we will certainly book with the Meeks.
