Forestarìa is the name of our farm, inspired by a popular history
of Lucca that our grandparents told us. According to the legend
Forestarìa is a ghost that is found in many parts of the hill
Lucca, a small little woman small, lean and low ...
Inspired by the memory of this story, we decided to call our
It is part of the company including the beautiful country-style farmhouse
in which we have obtained a room for the sale of
our products. The property was bought in the 80s and

also a structure.
The company is mainly related to the olive harvest and
their transformation into a very good extra virgin olive oil, on a
production of more than 2000 olive trees.

processing and sales in the company, provides
a direct relationship between agricultural production and
final consumers, as in the chain

including other types of fruits: kiwi, pear, peach,
plums, walnuts, etc.
Wonderful wonderful place! One of those moments when you feel lucky that Airbnb exists to help you find your way here :)
My goodness, Forestaria is absolutely the most wonderful place! Eleonora and Marco are really warm, generous and welcoming hosts. It was such a pleasure to share their farm house with them for a few days and also to meet and share a very cosy dinner with the other guests. The views over the landscape are beautiful, the atmosphere and details inside the house are very special and our room was lovely.
I cant recommend Forestaria enough, you will have the most restful and cosy experience here.
We will be back for sure and we feel very lucky to have met you both.

Forestaría is a beautiful farm, located in the Tuscany portrayed in movies. Eleonora & Marco were wonderful hosts, able to provide lots of information about the surrounding areas, as well as great conversation.
We relied solely on public transportation. In hindsight (and perhaps in the future), we recommend renting a car. While Lucca & the hills around Forestaría are beautiful, buses run infrequently, a lesson learned by experience. We benefited from rides from Eleonora, Marco, and even some super helpful guests who were at Forestaría when we were; but, one will certainly be able to explore and experience more of the area with a car. Additionally, I think having a car will enable one to fully experience the narrow & hilly roads in a way being a passenger just doesn't optimize.
There are excellent places to eat & drink near Forestaría, within 30 or so minutes walking. I enjoyed two of the best meals of my entire Italian trip nearby (at Al Vecchio Metato & Da Severino, the latter at which Eleonora was nice enough to reserve us a table that overlooked the hills).
And be sure, while there, to taste Forestaría's olive oil!
I can fully agree with all the reviews before me - Forestaria is a highly recommended stay if you plan to be around Lucca, at best with a car to enjoy / master the way up to the farm and enjoy the views from the hills. Eleonora was very helpful with recommendations of where to go to catch the most stunning views around. It was also nice to to share a dinner or drink with the other relaxed guests of the farm. And don't forget to participate in the jumping contest, plus the olive oil is a must-take away! Last but not least, it's really astonishing what Marco and Eleonora have built up over the last few years.. Keep it going & bis bald!
I wish I was a writer to find the elegance and the words to describe the unique and inspiring experience of a stay at Forestaria. I could tell you about the stunning view over the valley and the city of Lucca, of the reassuring calm, of the fireflies in the evening, of the olive groves and the old oak - you would not believe it until you've been there. And even when you are, in the morning you look out of your window and you can't believe this beautiful landscape is still there.
If I was a really good writer, I could aptly praise Eleonora and Marco - the hosts who make this place perfect. Both being friendly, helpful, always optimistic and cheerful, they often had a recommendation where to go or what to see which turned out to be just perfect.
I am not a writer, but I strongly recommend a stay there and experience it yourself. It might not change your life, but you wouldn't ever want to miss this experience once you made it.
I came to Eleonora's house to recover from a very difficult personal tragedy. I wanted a tranquil, quiet place where I could walk in nature and gather myself again. I found all of that and much, much more. Eleonora and Marco were the perfect hosts and made certain my stay was comfortable, easy, and peaceful. Their home is not large, but still provides all the space you need. It is very open and airy, with windows that open to spectacular views of the mountains and then down the valley to the lovely city of Lucca. You can walk out the door of their home and comfortably relax in their terraced olive groves and gardens, or walk just a few minutes uphill and disappear into lovely wild forest and mountains, or drive 15 minutes and be in the bustling piazza of downtown Lucca. It is the ideal location from which to explore this most incredible area of Italy! One word of advice: get good directions to their house. It is a wonderful adventure driving up the steep one lane mountain road to get there, but it is a bit complicated to find it for the first time.
Eleonora was the perfect host. Forestaria is beautiful, the view over the valley is stunning. We loved staying here so much that we want to return as soon as possible. It is very peaceful and a great place to relax. Their olive oil tastes great too! Grazie
Forestarìa is lovely place where you can rest from a big cities. We wanted to meet spring in beautiful place somewhere in Tuscany and we weren't mistaken. Clean air, beautiful landscape, friendly hosts. Even we rent just a room in a farm, we were allowed to use kitchen: cook and use fridge.
The farm house is well designed even a battery not just a battery.
Eleonora and Mark friendly hosts was interesting to chat with them. :)
Even thought Forestarìa is hidden from touristic routes there is a shop close to farm and great restaurant in neighborhood village just 15 min walk (one of the best restaurant in Italy we've ate).
Totally recommend to stay in Forestarìa if you search for some place in Tuscany.
Up in the hill, there was a place to get rest... (of the tourists)! Being at Forestaria was such a peace on our trip.
We're looking for to feel Italy as a country with its local products and so we got it!
We spend hours understanding the olive oil production, the farm, the project.. We asked a lot of questions and Eleonora and Marco were so opened to show us everything!
It was such a great experience and we highly recommend the stay!
Their olive oil has made a huge success in Paris! It's really good and "bio"!! :D
Forestaria is definitely a place to stay if you look forward to feel the spirit of Tuscany!
Many thanks, Eleonora! :)
Forestarìa is an amazing place.
It is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The perfect place to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Valgiano is beautiful town surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. It is perfect for long walks. Great idea is also to spend a day with a book on the grass or a mattress under a beautiful tree growing in front of the house.
Hosts? Elenora and Marco are two wonderfully warm and friendly people. After five minutes of conversation, I felt like I've known them for years. I do not know how they do it, but in Forestarìa I felt at home.
Visiting them was one of my best travel experiences, and I really hope that I'll ever come back to Forestarìa.
