  • ATTENTION! If you are a group of females looking to rent, you must read this:

My party (two other girls) and I have had an overall disturbing experience. Tshela was very helpful in providing us with an info package by email with all the necessary details about her home and the area surrounding it. It was very thoughtful to have someone pick us up from the train station and show us the way there, however we were surprised that it wouldn't be Tshela but a man named Lawrence (land manager?). If you're a group of girls looking to rent, please make sure you are not going to be picked up by him!

He was friendly and helpful, but my friends and I were deeply traumatized in how he greeted us at the train station. He grabbed each one of us and kissed us 3 times on our cheeks. Now, we realize that kisses on the cheek are quite common in Europe, as we have been living in Italy for the pass couple of months. However, the way he went about it was clearly unacceptable. Not only his kisses were forced, they were slimy to the point where pools of saliva was left on our cheeks. We were all very confused at first, not knowing whether it was a cultural thing or he was just really happy to see us. He did it one more time to each one of us before he left (this was upstairs in the apartment). And then when another friend and I unlocked the door for him downstairs, he kissed each one of us 3 times AGAIN! Every time he kissed us he would grabbed us tightly and stroke our arms or back. I cannot stress how creepy it was to have him so tenderly hold onto us. Now reflecting back on the whole thing, we feel so violated and angry at ourselves for not realizing that he was taking advantage of us.

Regarding the apartment: It was very spacious with nice furniture and was well equipped with movies, entertainment and water in the fridge. They had an info handbook which was very helpful for us to navigate around the city (being tourists). The apartment was very comfortable but rather stuffy and hot. There was no way to adjust the temperature besides opening windows (but it made little to no impact). Also, the water turned cold after the first shower (this happened on the two nights we stayed). Please note that the toilet is on the bottom floor, and it is separated from the shower room (which is upstairs).

  • We couldn't believe how big the apartment was when we got there! We loved everything, from the natural light in all of the rooms to the decoration. Three of us stayed there for five nights at the of march and we VERY confortable! Lawrence and Tchela were great hosts, very kind and available.

  • Our stay was excellent, the place was clean and had everything we needed and more for our trip. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Thanks again Tshela for having us!

  • We spent great weekend at Tschela's apartment. Flat location is very convenient, next to metro lines 2/6 station which will take you everywhere in Brussels (including northern quarters with Heysel and Atomium). Flat has great design and is equipped with everything you need (including DVD's collection for a rainy day). Bedrooms are cozy, with comfortable beds. Just watch out on the stairs when you're under influence :) Oh, and Lawrence, which was our host, was very helpful and charming. Definitely will go back in the future.

  • The flat is comfortable and warm and both beds are a decent size. There are "city bikes" right outside which is a great way to get around the city and Tshela leaves a good pile of instructions / maps which are also very helpful to act as a guide to Brussels. Jette is not a very busy district and it lacks restaurants (or at least we struggled to find any). All in all very happy.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Tshela's apartment during our 5-day vacation in Belgium. Her instruction about how to use house facilities was detailed and practical. The apartment was just 7-10 minutes away from the Simonis Metro station, from which it took within 15-20 minutes to get to major tourist attractions and train stations in Brussels. All in all, we were so satisfied that we would like to stay at her place again if we have another chance to visit Belgium!

  • Had a great stay in Tshela's apartment. Was welcomed by Lawrence who was really friendly and gave us all the important information. The apartment is really cool, very well designed, with lots of nice artwork, and two great sized bedrooms.

It has a Villo bike hire station right outside [though you need a swipe card to rent a bike] and is really near the Basilique which was a highlight of our stay. Definite recommendation for good value trip to Brussels.
