The Apartment was allright, everything there that you need. Unfortunatly i have never met Fernando himself, but if i needed something he always has send his Assistent Lalo to bring it to me. The Apartment is in a nice Area, the Metro is onöy 2 minutes away and everywhere are little supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The only thing that annoyed me was the floor, because it creaks at every step you took. The Neighbours were nice and everything was good. I would come back everytime.
Beautiful apartment and very friendly, attentive service. Would certainly recommend!
The apartment was a great fit for a few days in DF, as it was both quite spacious and centrally located, making it easy to travel to amazing sights in the Centro Histórico as well as to plenty of fantastic bars and restaurants in Colonia Roma and La Condesa. Fernando was quite responsive to our needs throughout our stay, and we look forward to a return visit!
Although the apartment had some problems, Fernando and Lalo (who works with him) were really nice and made an effort to solve them as fast as possible. Overall, we had a pleasant stay,
Very pleasant place. Easy access upon arrival, straight forward, thank you to our guests and the gardien. 100% intimacy and very quiet place. Communication simple and facile with Fernando. We also had access to Lalo for specific need or request. Fernando on his own vacation reply quickly to all our questions. Enjoyable neighborhood. We ate at Alma de Quetzal, clean, basic mexican foods, 1 min by foot, warm welcoming. Close to all facilities. We will come back.
The furnished apartment located at Colonia Roma was very spacious with a large sitting room and two big bedrooms. It has a large cooker and microwave - all the cooking facilities you could reasonably want. The crockery and cooking equipment was a bit limited ....no bowls to cook in the microwave for (website hidden) was within 200 metres of a Metro stop and two convenience stores (Oxxo and 7-11) were within 100 metres. The area felt safe but was not very nice - full of shops selling auto parts.
There are several irritating aspects to renting this flat. The floor is incredibly noisy - it is impossible to walk on the floor without waking anyone asleep in the flat. It also looks horrible - it is yellow and badly marked and generally distracts from the tasteful furniture in the apartment.
There is no working hot tap or plug in the kitchen making washing up awkward .The ensuite bathroom produced single hot showers but could not provide a second hot shower. The TV is in a bedroom so cannot be easily viewed by everyone in the apartment (in our case 4 adults).
In the main bedroom there is only one bedside table and lamp. In the second bedroom there were no bedside tables or lamps. This is a real problem if one person wants to go to sleep early. Another problem is that there are no wardrobes in the second bedroom. So two adults had to live out of their suitcases. The beds were very comfortable and the block was quiet at night so we could sleep well.
You are only supplied with one set of keys. Over Xmas there is for about 36 hours no porter on duty. (When the porter was there ,he was very friendly and helpful) .This means that if you lose the keys you cannot get into either the building or your apartment. Moreover even with a key it is impossible to open the door to the block from the outside. You have to try open the lock from the inside by inserting your hand through the railings feeling for the lock. If you drop the key it is not easy to retrieve it. All of this is unnecessary. There should be two sets of keys. Also one tenant allowed us to use his key to the block and it works perfectly from outside. So more and better quality keys are required.
Fernando was responsive to our requests for help although we did not meet him. He arranged for a friend of his to meet us at the flat upon our arrival and to explain how things worked which was helpful. There is a blackboard with some local information written on it but it was nearly erased and not much use. It would have been very helpful to have written local information available with maps, details of shops, restaurants ,places to buy drinking water etc.
Thank you very much for your specific comments; all of them will be improved, (specially the floor) and many of them (more kitchen appliances) I usually bought them when someone ask me they specific need.
About the key I the administrator of the building is working on it.
We couldn't meet because of a lot of work I had that week, but my assistant was in charge of solving your needs.
Nice Apartment. Very close to the metro (subway). Close also to Roma neighborhood, wich is a great place to eat and have a nice night life.
I liked it a lot.
Nice big apartment in a perfectly central location in Mexico City. Within about a block radius there's a coffee shop, metro station, a large indoor market, and a selection of street food vendors. Getting around with this as our base was super easy.
As for the apartment, it's BIG - two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a good-sized living room. The building has secure access with a doorman, and while it was a little noisy during the day it always quieted down by 10:00pm or so. The internet was reliable (it was a working trip), there was enough hot water, and the washer/dryer were handy. Fernando also provides a selection of local tips/recommendations at the apartment and sent a couple more via email during our stay.
I'll definitely consider staying here next time I'm in DF.
I have stayed at Fernando's apartment on Cerrada de Guaymas for two different stays during my travel around Mexico. The first stay, I was welcomed with a bouquet of flowers delivered by one of Fernando's friends. What a pleasant surprise! Never had that kind of personal touch before!
(I never got to meet Fernando as he was very busy that week.)
The apartment was tidy and tastefully decorated in a contemporary fashion. It felt comfortable and clean. Shower head and bathroom sink were in working order. Including the fridge (which had random stuff leftover -- probably from previous guests).
Do expect to bring your own soaps and shampoo (which I normally do on all of my travels). What are supplied are extra bath towels.
Doorman is around, including late nights.
Where the apartment is located, it is surrounded by taco and food stands (one of them became an immediate hit with my friend and I -- a Barbacoa taco stand that's on Thursdays - Sundays). Apartment is also conveniently located near a metro station, supermarkets, and quick market stops for all your basic shopping needs.
The apartment was great and close to the metro. Fernando was helpful and responsive to all of our questions and gave great recommendations.
