The apartment is a quiet getaway in a beautiful neighborhood. It's a great place for a couple or a family of four. Bus stops are close by and the area is ideal and safe for walking. Our STR License # is 021015.
We live on the property in the main house that faces the apartment, and therefore ask for grace and courtesy from you and will of course extend that to you. We have 2 active middle school sons that are known to play soccer in the backyard. Come expecting that you are right in the middle of a neighborhood and life will be going on around you. We offer a home-y environment, not a pristine hotel. If anything is not working properly, we will do our best to get it taken care of. We both work full time so on-site response time may not be immediate! We ask that you not smoke on the property, but do let us know if you need anything. We love our spot here in Central Austin and look forward to sharing it with you!
The location couldn't be better. Right next to a free public pool (even open for adult lap swimming in the mornings!), and a block or less walk to a grocery store, coffee shop/bakery, and restaurant. Really peaceful neighborhood, too. Very comfortable and convenient place.
Just around the corner from our small house, Caroline's casita was absolutely perfect for our visiting guests. Very comfortable, clean, and in the perfect spot. Thanks Caroline! Our guests will be your guests again.
I feel so lucky to have found Caroline's adorable Casita! It truly made my family's stay in Austin exceptional. While we did not meet Caroline in person, her communication was friendly and thorough.
The home is very clean and cozy, yet spacious enough that we did not get in each other's way. Caroline has an amazing library and we enjoyed staying in as well as going out to all the nearby neighborhood hot spots.
My grandmother has mobility issues and having comfortable, ground-floor accommodations for her was a true blessing. I can't believe the great value. Thank you, Caroline!!
Wonderful little cottage in a super convenient location for vegetarians like us. Place was super clean and tidy with plenty of amenities (shampoo, soap, cleaning supplies). Bed was super comfy. :) Caroline lives in the house next door and was accessible the moment we arrived. Every morning, we woke up to a melody of birds chirping outside our window, which was a relaxing way to ease into our day. We would definitely stay here again! Great experience!
We had a great time in Caroline's place. Nice quite neighborhood, and a lovely small house that makes you feel at home right away.
Great place and location. I enjoyed my stay in la casita. Neighborhood is very nice and walking distance to some great coffe shops. Downtown is only 10 minute ride, you can get on the bus which is only a block. Caroline was very attentive, she would reply to my emails very fast. Thanks!
Caroline was very communicative and made everything very easy for us. The place was just as described and was perfect for our little vacation. Great neighborhood- fun to walk around and see the houses, as well as walkable to groceries and some restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay here!
About the Host, Caroline
My husband Adam and I run a small, arts focused high school here in the neighborhood called Griffin School. Prior to joining him in this endeavor, I worked in the film industry here in Texas as a location manager, scouting and arranging the logistics for movies and television productions of all sizes. I grew up in South Carolina, spent a year studying in Innsbruck, Austria and graduated from the University of Notre Dame, before making my way to the warmer climate of Austin. We have 2 sons, ages 12 and 14. They are sweet, athletic boys who spend much of their time at the basketball courts and park across the street. Austin has been my home for 23 years and I love every single thing about it-the celebration of eccentricities, the live music, the vibrancy and activism, the weather and the fabulous people that make it such a special and unique town.
