The apartment is a quiet getaway in a beautiful neighborhood. It's a great place for a couple or a family of four. Bus stops are close by and the area is ideal and safe for walking. Our STR License # is 021015.
We live on the property in the main house that faces the apartment, and therefore ask for grace and courtesy from you and will of course extend that to you. We have 2 active middle school sons that are known to play soccer in the backyard. Come expecting that you are right in the middle of a neighborhood and life will be going on around you. We offer a home-y environment, not a pristine hotel. If anything is not working properly, we will do our best to get it taken care of. We both work full time so on-site response time may not be immediate! We ask that you not smoke on the property, but do let us know if you need anything. We love our spot here in Central Austin and look forward to sharing it with you!
We enjoyed the Casita very much. It was the perfect size for two. We loved the location. It was a quiet neighborhood close to many of the things we wanted to do. We just took a quick trip down Red River Street to get downtown. In the morning, the White-Winged Doves in the surrounding trees serenaded us awake.
Very clean Casita, cozy and inviting. The book selection was ample, location is fantastic, and communication was great. Couldn't have been happier with the experience!
The Casita was cozy, clean and well equipped with towels, great bath products, books,a stereo, coffee, brita etc. . It has a private entrance and never met Caroline but felt she was there for me in case anything was needed.
The neighbourhood is pretty and quiet (slept like a baby!),yet a block away from supermarket,laundry,3 or 4 restaurants,a hipster cafè/gelato place and even a barbershop ;) if you're here for Sxsw rent a bike, enjoy the ride and get rid of the toxins day by day. Great exp,no complaints ready to do it all over again ;)
Caroline's casista was perfect for our visit to Austin. Everything we needed was stocked in our "home away from home." Weather was cool and rainy and portable radiators were perfect. We absolutely loved the neighborhood. Shops and restaurants on 43rd street were so cool! Driving to downtown was easier than we expected. Grocery very near by so we could pick up whatever we needed. Very clean, well equipped. Many thanks Caroline. We look forward to visiting again.
The Casita is a great Airbnb rental! It was exactly as advertised. It's in a great, walkable neighborhood, you have easy access to other parts of Austin, the Casita was very comfortable, and had plenty of space for us.
Caroline was accessible, and quick to respond to questions. All in all, it was a great experience, and we would definitely stay here again!
I had a lovely week in this charming guest house in Austin. I never met Caroline, but felt very welcomed to find some sodas and ice cream in the fridge, and the heaters on for my arrival! It was an unseasonable cold week in Austin, but the space heaters made the place very comfy. The apartment was clean, and well stocked, and the location excellent. As noted, there are some great dining spots right around the corner, as well as small but charming grocery, and a coin laundry. Great bakery as well! Internet was great, too. All in all a lovely little place!
My husband Adam and I run a small, arts focused high school here in the neighborhood called Griffin School. Prior to joining him in this endeavor, I worked in the film industry here in Texas as a location manager, scouting and arranging the logistics for movies and television productions of all sizes. I grew up in South Carolina, spent a year studying in Innsbruck, Austria and graduated from the University of Notre Dame, before making my way to the warmer climate of Austin. We have 2 sons, ages 11 and 14. They are sweet, athletic boys who spend much of their time at the basketball courts and park across the street. Austin has been my home for 22 years and I love every single thing about it-the celebration of eccentricities, the live music, the vibrancy and activism, the weather and the fabulous people that make it such a special and unique town.
