Hyde Park is an historic neighborhood located right in the center of Austin and this charming backyard apartment is right in the center of Hyde Park, 2 blocks from neighborhood coffeeshops, restaurants, laundromat and grocery. It directly faces the Elizabet Ney Sculpture Museum and is half a block from Shipe Park and Pool (open in summer).

The apartment is a quiet getaway in a beautiful neighborhood. It's a great place for a couple or a family of four. Bus stops are close by and the area is ideal and safe for walking. Our STR License # is 021015.
We live on the property in the main house that faces the apartment, and therefore ask for grace and courtesy from you and will of course extend that to you. We have 2 active middle school sons that are known to play soccer in the backyard. Come expecting that you are right in the middle of a neighborhood and life will be going on around you. We offer a home-y environment, not a pristine hotel. If anything is not working properly, we will do our best to get it taken care of. We both work full time so on-site response time may not be immediate! We ask that you not smoke on the property, but do let us know if you need anything. We love our spot here in Central Austin and look forward to sharing it with you!
Caroline was a great host! This apartment was comfortable and convenient. It is walking distance to a great local vegetarian restaurant, grocery store, and coffee shop. I would come back here on a future Austin trip.
We felt right at home at Caroline's. The weather was a bit dreary during our stay, but we were very lucky to have a cozy place to stay in and watch movies. When the weather was clear, though, the neighborhood was perfect for an evening stroll. I didn't actually meet Caroline during our stay, but she made everything so easy that there was no need. I would definitely recommend this spot for a relaxing, homey stay in a charming Austin neighborhood.
What a great experience. Caroline was very welcoming. She gave us information about the great neighborhood and was available if needed. The Casita had plenty of room and a wonderful homey feel. Thanks for a great weekend--we'll be back!
We loved this casita. Don't let the outside picture deter you. The inside is cute and well equipped. The bed was comfy and even though it was unusually cold for Austin, the space heaters kept it cozy. The neighborhood is awesome with a grocery store and a great bakery right around the corner. We walked around the neighborhood one night, felt completely safe and enjoyed looking at all the cool homes. We would totally stay here again and highly recommend it!
My parents stayed at the Casita and it was perfect. It was very cozy, even during the chilly weather and was extremely clean. It was quiet and in a perfect neighborhood to see Austin. Caroline was also very communicative and easy to get in touch with. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in a great location in a fantastic place.
what a great little house! we loved it - perfectly fitted with everything you need, a fast wifi connection, great quiet location with good eats close by, and even toys and books to help our daughters feel at home. thank you so much!
My husband Adam and I run a small, arts focused high school here in the neighborhood called The Griffin School. Prior to joining him in this endeavor, I worked in the film industry here in Texas as a location manager, scouting and arranging the logistics for movies and television productions of all sizes. I grew up in South Carolina, spent a year studying in Innsbruck, Austria and graduated from the University of Notre Dame, before making my way to the warmer climate of Austin. We have 2 sons, ages 11 and 13. They are sweet, athletic boys who spend much of their time at the basketball courts and park across the street. Austin has been my home for 22 years and I love every single thing about it-the celebration of eccentricities, the live music, the vibrancy and activism, the weather and the fabulous people that make it such a special and unique town.
